    I just bought this as a replacement for the V10 that developed screen burn just after a few weeks, and seeking warranty service was a nightmare with the company. *The picture is superb.* I have owned a half dozen projectors over the last 15 years, and I can use this with a desk lamp on and still have an excellent picture. *In fact, the warm white LED lamp makes the picture softer and more organic than with the lights off.*
    I do a lot of work in DAW's and 3-D CAD, so I need to be able to see tiny font and really complex and cluttered GUI's which this does superbly.
    The price is just crazy, but as an engineer I also know the cost to build electronics so the industry does have some fair deals on products once in a while.
    *I will also interject that with more time spent on the internal settings and your graphic card settings, you could have gotten a much better image to compare to your LCD.*

    When you were trying to get the projection perfectly squared/rectangular and gave up and said it was "good enough," it was still WAY off from being squared. I actually returned a similar projector for this very reason because it was impossible to eliminate the trapezoidal effect. I purchased the "Wimius K7" projector which has a one button 6D correction function and it achieves a perfectly squared rectangle with the press of one button - no other correction adjustments needed. And the Wimius K7 is brighter with 450/500 ansi lumens.

    It’s great to see you venturing out into other products! If I can make a suggestion, your Triple screen should have your branding (Karl Gosling intro logo) displayed on it when doing reviews. Also you did an episode where you shared your Dirt Rally 2.0 Track challenge for that month. It would be a lot of fun for you to pick a track at the beginning of each month to show your first decent run and leaderboard placement and challenge us viewers to that track for the month. You could follow up with your placement at the end of the month.

    Great review. Note, you'll get a *significant* image quality upgrade (compared to what you're currently doing), if you get yourself some good quality 1.3 gain screen material to stretch across a simple aluminium frame. Or, of course, just get a drop down portable projector screen. Alternatively, for a budget screen solution, I've also made screens from white / light cream Blackout Curtain material sourced from a fabric store. The right type has a smooth vinyl like surface on one side, which works quite well for a screen (not as good as Da-Lite CinemaVision screen material of course!) :-)

      I bought a Lejiada grey reflective portable projector screen and the difference in picture quality is amazing. It's much brighter and the colours are more vivid. I am happy with my V10. One of the things I have found is the position of the projector is very important in terms of minimising the out of focus corners. Keystoning is helpful for squaring the picture but plays hell on your focusing. My solution was a projector stand that's just under £30 on Amazon and now can position the projector perfectly. And I have no focusing issues anymore. I also got a cheap freestanding screen at 100" the only negative I have found so far in mine is a slight delay in the sound synchronisation while streaming from my phone. I haven't tested with hdmi yet so don't know if this is an issue there. But overall my expectations were exceeded with the V10.

    • @KarlGosling
      @KarlGosling  2 года назад +1

      Ah thats a great tip then, £30 is nothing to have a clearer image!
      I only tested HDMI and then Bluetooth for audio which had a massive delay (as mentioned in the V10 review) coming from the V10 to my BT speaker.
      Yeah it's still a great projector for under £200! :)

    Good review. However, I beg to differ in terms of the build quality. The Yaber V10 looks more premium and has a better build quality and more premium feel in the hand(in my view). Also, if you get a anti-light , metal curtain projector screen, it is a night and day difference in terms of the picture quality, even in the daylight. I have a Yaber Pro V8, and with my setup, wifi 6, projector display settings tweak, its really good. I'm gonna upgrade to the V10 soon

    Love my 1080 Sony hw65 60 fps (still cost like 2000 something usd) with remote foldable projector screen but when I play on my ultra wide 1440p I do have admit the colors on that one are better than my projector. Nice vid 👌 might consider a nice 65 or plus inch 4K Oled later as extra underneath my foldable projector screen when I have some spare money left. Yeah hdmi cable was a thing when I installed mine the cable was costing more than 500 eur as it is larger than 5 meters.

    • @KarlGosling

      A good panel will always be better than any projector as we have to project onto a surface that isn't black (white or grey usually) so contrast and colours suffer, plus light travelling through the air will have a naturally "soft" filter look albeit very minimal.

    What kind of lcd panel does it have?
    Can you replace it if it ever starts to burn?
    And the K8 doesn't support dolby digital so wouldn't the K1 be the better option over all, for streaming Netflix etc via fire stick since the K1 model support Dolby Digital?
    Also with the K1 being not as bright it will stay cooler which will prolong the life of the lcd panel.
    I had one other projector and after awhile the lcd panel stared to burn and show a brownish tint on the screen.

    It is the best comparison I have seen, and the best analysis. For many reasons, I found many other analyzes that I did not like, mainly because they do not analyze the image.
    Could you help me? at 2.5 meters the V10 only gives me 61 inches, while the k8 gives me 71. I don't know if it's a factory fault and I have to return it, could you try them both at 2.5 meters and tell me how many inches they give? did you put them the same distance?
    I would also say that the V10 is much noisier than the k8, it shows a lot, is it like that in yours too?
    I would really appreciate this help. Sorry for my English.
    I would add to the analysis that the k8 is too warm, it also has too much green. The V10 has a higher degree of precision on whites and greys, the K8 adds green or yellow to them. The green that it adds, if you compare it with the V10, is very very annoying. The color price is clearly superior to the k8. You just have to try a whole image of snow, the k8 will be unable to process it with a real color. And in the scenes with metal, it will represent them with green, which remains an old film tone.
    If the noise were lower and the inches larger, I would definitely go with the V10. Let's see if you can help me.

    Hi, what's the difference between K1 vs K8?

    • @theotherpaulsmith
      @theotherpaulsmith 2 года назад

      the K1 is not so bright - i found it was too washed out in daylight with the curtains drawn. The K8 picture was fine in the same situation. The K1 Fan is a bit quieter and the internal speakers are better than the K8. If you use a soundbar this won't matter. K8 fan is going to be louder as there's more heat generated from the brighter display. But its not annoyingly loud - and its quieter than many other budget projectors. The fabric top of the K1 is gonna get grubby. K1 has a decent camera bag style case, K8 has a rucksack.

      The other difference is the K8 has a 30hz refresh rate and the K1 is 2x this at 60hz. So if you want a projector for gaming, the K1 could be a better choice. But it's not as bright as the K8.

    Another (Cheap? £250) China made LED 1080p projector, , When are we going to get a value 4K or even 2K LED Projector?

    • @KarlGosling
      @KarlGosling  2 года назад

      Very cheap yes! A proper projector is £2500 upwards, more for 4k with HDR etc. these little LED ones are ok for a bit of fun but do not compare at all.

      @@KarlGosling You’re ignorant dude. There’s a way to get a shaper overall image without blurry edges even on cheap projectors. The trick is to get the projector itself closer than you would normally prefer to the wall than gradually move it back without turning off projector or adjusting anything. That works for all the cheap projectors I’ve owned

    Please don't buy this or any other "budget" projector! I went through two Yaber's, and now I have this one. I ended up getting it for FREE, but a free piece of crap is still that. It has a large blue blob in the middle of the screen that gets bigger everyday. I was very impressed when I first saw it, but a month later not so much. It doesn't even have tint adjustment so it's impossible to get a somewhat realistic color from it. I just spent twice the money and have an LG projector, native 1080p on the way. BEWARE!!!

      I suppose thats always a risk with cheap projectors, at least if you buy through Amazon you can just return it should a problem develop.

      if you buy through amazon uk you can get a 4 year warranty including accidental damage for around £20
