Ronnie being turned down for sport's personality is ludicrous. Anyone who's seen any snooker knows that he is more of a talent on the felt than Messi is on the pitch, he's from the UK and plays a sport that the UK is still dominant in. It's time that that is recognised.

Like always, he did not win again. Truly, what Ronnie does is remarkable, and I want to have a shot at explaining just why he will never win a title. Firstly, I mean there is no way you can achieve anything over on top of what he has. Snooker is an impossibly tough game; those who play it are well aware of the ridiculously high standards of concentration and precision that it demands for even an average outing on the baize, and yet, Ronnie plays with it with the ease and composure of a child exploring his favorite toy. Its fascinating to watch, and impossible to replicate. The things he does on the table are nothing short of wizardry. He is in the league of Messi and Jordan as atheletes who are peerless.
I know that this award is decided by viewers, and snookers impoverished popularity in comparison to the other big sports out there, will mean that ronnie will once again, be set aside in favour of one of the more recognizable ones. But to anyone who does recognize even an iota of who he is, will vote for him. Perhaps his performances over the year do not cumulate into the award. Consistency has never been his strong suit, but you don't become a genius like him without shielding some demons. But for his world championship win alone, he deserves all the rewards. Bless him.
