We bought a 2003 Tracker ZR/2 new off the lot. It was our daily driver for years. Now it's 18 years old and still hanging in there, even with some electrical problems, a few leaks, and 230,000 miles. It's been from coast to coast and registered in four states. Great little truck. I couldn't care less what anyone else thinks of it.
Love these Trackers and yes, there is more Barbies in Jeeps than ever in a Tracker... These trackers also last longer than Jeeps! I KNOW cuz I got two of 'em! lol
Sure. I now own my 4th Jeep. Had a Wrangler go over 300k before I sold it. Grand Cherokee that I totaled at just under 190k. A Cherokee that my ex fiance took, and as far as I am aware, still on the road today. And now, a new 2022 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon. I agree with about barbies in Jeeps though. That's a fact.
Hey blessings brother...my 02 Chevy service check engine light is on....and sometimes shuts off while im waiting at a stop light... any suggestions? What you think i should do?...it only has 130k miles on it.... pops says its still good...let me know
I have one with an Inline 4 cyl. and the damn thing cannot be stopped drove through 17 inches of snow with drifts up to 2 feet and pushed through it for a mile pulled somebody stuck in a ford excursion out turned around and made a fresh path all the way back with almost comp[letely bald tires... I do not understand it...... but I love it! Damn thing is Feral
Last winter I pulled a Buick suv out of a field that was used for parking during a christmas light show and people were just watching as I made a new trail with the suv behind me
I got a 94 tracker here, it's only a two wheel drive but that makes it super light. Absolute blast with the ragtop off at 75 miles per hour on the freeway and it's lightweight enough I can haul it behind an RV. That's it up there on my profile picture to the left. The young lady I bought it from named it clover.
Can't get a 2 door 4x4 with a 5 speed manual for $1k. At least not today. Unless it has so many miles that both an engine and transmission rebuild is a guarantee within weeks, but even then, doubtful.
We have two, an 02 and 03. They literally drive through snow that you wouldn't expect them to. As you said, get decent fuel economy and the thing will go faster than you'd really want to. I'm putting a lift kit in the 03 that costs less than $200.00 and 33 inch tires. So much for a Barbie car.
Me too! I got an 02 and an 03! lol and YES they are unstoppable in snow! :D Nothing Barbie about these trackers... Jeeps are more of a Barbie car if anything.
In 2003 I bought that exact same model and color of Tracker. It was a year old and had 12,000 MI on it. I paid literally half of its list price from the year before for it. I didn't end up keeping it because I had a child on the way. I wish I had kept it. I have kept track of it on Autocheck and last I looked it had over a hundred thousand miles on it. I did end up buying a beater 1990 Tracker. I had great fun four wheeling that. You can wheel a $1,000 beater a lot harder than you can a $20,000 Jeep.
I own a 1999 Tracker...love it!...I have owned every kind of car imaginable in my lifetime...This Tracker is FAR more dependable that ALL the others combined. Getting ready to put a hardtop on mine...already gone through 2 soft tops in the last 9 years of ownership. LOVE this car! Never let EGO choose your car for you. ;)
@@zackerywilson4787 Sweet...I often wondered if a 2.5 would fit in it...also...did you have to swap transmissions...or could the 2.0 transmission link up to the 2.5?
I own a 2004 4 door chevrolet tracker i've owned this car for 7 years and the damn thing still runs im telling ya the Tracker probablly has to be best thing chevrolet ever produced these things are like tanks also cus i've been rearended 3 times and not even so much as even fucking dent went into my car unbelievable Chevrolet Tracker fucking rules!!!!
I'm on my second Tracker, first was first gen, second is second gen, like yours. Their off road capability is pretty remarkable. And upkeep is pretty minimum of you maintain it properly.
Nice , I like it , I have a 1998 Susuki Sport Sidekick 4 cylinder automatic 4 wheel drive and loving it , all I did to it when it came time to buying tires went from 65 profile to 70 , it gave it a lift with no strain , I'm loving it ...
I've got a 1997 Geo Tracker, and it happens to be purple. Although it looks good and is in great condition it probably wouldn't have been my first choice for the color, but now it has grown on me and I don't give a s@#t what the haters say about it. I'm keeping it and I'm keeping it purple. My family names every car or truck we get. So, my Tracker was named "Jessica."
I love how people never tell you what year the vehicle is, you think that'd be the first thing they start out with this is a 1995 this is the 1999 this is the 2016,
yeah! the same as in the video, but a 5-speed manual. I would've preferred auto (actually learned stick on this car when I bought it) but it has not been easy finding one
I see more "barbies" in jeeps than i ever do in a suzuki

I have an 01 and I like it. Zippy little fun truck. Haven't done any offroading and dont know if I ever will but I enjoy it
25 mpg?

@@carmenmontesino2164 that's the same price mine cost. Been running good ever since.
