That Fuzz is amazing! All really great pedals. Josh is one of my favorite modern blues guys. Awesome playing! Love The Capt. sheepish over the shoulder looks for the “sound police”! Reminds me, of me listening for my neighbor banging on the ceiling! Sick Fuzz!
Great sounds! I have TS 808 35th anniversary (made in Japan) and Leqtique MAR (also made there-2012 ltd because of old stock 80s diods) which sounds as good as Vemuram TS. Smith is GREAT artist!! Thanks Andertons for the best NAMM 2019 coverage on youtube.
Joe Rozmanassa ok the leqtique is a great pedal but it’s also reasonable priced. They’ just hard to get in the USA now. I have the MAT. Handmade but the paint Chips. They’re hand painted he needs to coat the paint. And they sound much better in my opinion. Plus, u can get overdrive, high gain and higher gain. Just get them here please. They’re used and I think some new ones on reverb and there’s some new mini chrome ones online but from Japan.
@@jamesanderson8076 Totally agree on paint chips...I was quite lucky to get used Leqtique MAR from ltd series of 2012 in Europe. And the price was awesome-80 EUR with shipping. I do recommend to check PEDALPAL FX on Reverb: I have their "Pal 800 Gold overdrive" which is the best Marshall pedal on a market. From vintage to hot rodded JCM sounds. Regarding fuzz - check Heretic pedal from Hiero Effects (made in Russia) Amazing!
Vemuram TS nailed the fuzz tone, that farty fuzz tone. You can clean it up or fart it up as you bias the germanium, brilliant. Clean OD tone or FARTY fuzz tone, best of both worlds.
My only issue with these is the price. They are just too inexpensive. You see I am an old money elite and would be ashamed to be using something clearly aimed at the lower classes....the peasants. I just loathe the peasant class.
I’m no longer poor but I’m not rich. There’s no way ever I’m paying that much. And I used to spend a lot on pedal. Not anymore. When I sell them on reverb I’m lucky to get half.
Josh Smith is one of those players who, if money was no object, I'd pay ridiculous amounts of cash to sit in my house and just play... his touch is sublime and TONE FOR DAYS!
Reminder that Vemuram is a known con-man. Many famous players endorsing them does not change this. It also doesn't change that these pedals are way too expensive I mean what the fuck man
Is there anything else in the signal chain besides the fuzz? Mine doesn't get nearly that saturated by a long shot! I thought it'd be more saturated on its own.
Nice pedals but their prices are, quite frankly, a joke. There are hand-built pedals just as good available for half the price. See ThorpyFX, Mythos, etc I'm not particularly price sensitive with this sort of thing but but over 400 for a modded tube screamer is a piss take.
Has to be said I thought exactly the same thing. Don't care how good it is, it's a tube screamer, there is literally nothing you could do to it beyond coating it in precious metals and actually supplying Josh Smith to play it for you, that would make it worth £400.
Agreed i totally understand for fuzzes especially interesting designs with rare transistors, but even the original ts9 is overpriced, it's a slightly different sd-1 a pedal that cost significantly less.
@@JimijaymesProductions I've got the Keeley Dark Side and it will function as about 5 of these pedals and I only paid a little over $300 for it and that's a bargain by comparison.
damn, this really sounds nice, didn't want this to happen. no way anyone with his right senses will ever buy this. and used prices will probably not bring it down.
Uffda... told myself I was done buying overdrives but the new Shanks and Tube Screamer collaboration is in the radar. If I buy them I can play just like Josh I suspect.
Super incredible guitar player. Full of soul, feeling and original ideas. But unfortunately for some reasons he is still very underrated, I guess sadly that's the way the music industry works these days... EDIT: I don't give a flying funk about pedals btw. I'm here for Josh ^^
That fuzz pedal sounds amazing, and one of the few fuzzes I've heard recently that's really made me consider buying a fuzz, but I don't think I could justify the pricing from vemuram, not for a pedal that I wouldn't use all that much.
I owned the Jan Ray for about 5 months and sold it. It definitely sounds nice, but it's not necessarily the ultimate overdrive either. I feel the same way about TS type It depends on your needs... In my case I found that a simple OCD with the gain down low and the amp set with perfect amount of break up sounds just as good. Pedals are a lot like microphones, you don't always need expensive to perform however I did enjoy it for a minute. All pedals expensive or inexpensive eventually get kicked to the curb. If you got the cash pull out your wallet and go for it! I don't believe this new clone is much different.
Sounds really cool! But it would be even cooler if that trim pot had a little knob attached to it so you didn’t have to fiddle with a screwdriver. Especially for the money.
Idk why everyone's getting so mad at the price. There are a million reasonably priced ts copies and any other pedal you can dream of, this is clearly a boutique pedal aimed for such a market. Buy what you can afford/justify and let the richer folk/pro players do the same thing ahah
God Damn! I like that fuzz but at nearly $400 idk 😂😂. On one hand it does make a lot of different sounds on the other hand if I scour the used market I might be able to pick up 3 or 4 fuzzes that do what I need too.

Love Josh Smith this video now saved to copy what he is playing lol As for the pedal I have bought tube amps cheaper so will give it a miss and go buy the amptweaker does more for a lot less .......................And of course no Ireland dates for the tour
Saw Josh Smith live last year in Canberra, Australia...my legs are still weak from hearing him play live.
Kudos to Josh - just love his playing!!!
As always, Josh shines with his exquisite playing. Good timing, guys.
Cheers
Such a sick player. Even his normal demo and random licks sound so smooth and soulful. Sick player!
Been watching all of Andertons NAMM videos. Now, I've got introduced to Josh Smith. Gonna be checking his work out, now; thanks, Andertons!🤘🏻
You’re in for a treat, enjoy.
Check out his interview in that pedal show. I love the dude's personality
He is a freaking Monster, one of my favorites nowdays
Literally a working musician's fuzz pedal.
Amazing dynamics and a distortiony fuzz sound with more fuzz than distortion.
Effing fab.
Okay that fuzz sounds killer - it’s always a smart idea to have great guitar players demo and endorse your products!
on Tubescreammer , Finally :) Thanx to Vemuram ! I've preordered 2 of this pedals already !!!
Thanx Lee & Josh et all... That wuz awesome!
That tubescreamer sounds SO good, especially through that Morgan. And Josh is amazing, as usual.

Josh can make anything sound great
Intersting video! Josh is such a fine guitarist : he knows what to play for every pedal!!
Josh is soooooooo great ! Love the functionality of the Fuzz !
Just here for Josh (and the A team).
Oh man it’s so good!!! Josh ... wow... always wow...
Josh is such a great player and tone junkie. I am still using that H9 Leslie patch you emailed me. What a cool cat.
Josh.... phenomenal player
I came for the vs808 but that fuzz was the bees knees, so good!
Good lord! Josh is so damn great!
Holy shit...that fuzz sounds ridiculously perfect.
He's the best sounding guitarist I've seen from Namm 2019 videos..
Vemuram TS nailed the fuzz tone, that farty fuzz tone. You can clean it up or fart it up as you bias the germanium, brilliant. Clean OD tone or FARTY fuzz tone, best of both worlds.
Perfect Scuttle Buttin' tone!
Josh smith is one hell of a player
What a player.
Amazing pedals!!! Josh has a good ear for amazing tone.
Josh Smith is so good.
5:15 is insane sound!
Anyone knows if there is one fuzz that sound like this @ 3:48 or 4:11 ?
(Except this...)
That fuzz has a killer tone. I'll add it to my whish list
Germanium and silicone is all well and good and sounds great. Maybe try guitar into biasable Adamantium next...
There's no silicone. These aren't breast implants.
@@TVisTheRetina Ahh, apologies to all the spelling police out there. My typo. Promise I'll try harder next time..

Haha! Brilliant!
Quite. $1000 or bust! Pedals without gold leaf shielding are for scrubs.
Just imagine all those prole pedals out there. Eww
No gold i fold
More for me
Josh's new fuzz is SHAZAM!!!
I can't wait to spend 450.00 for a tube screamer....said no one ever....
No one as poor as you ^_^

Part of it is the import and volume. Handmade in Japan + Import + Reseller markup = $$$$$$$
it's new stuff that already has a vintage price tag

couldnt agree more!
What was the pedal before the tubescreamer that he was not supposed to talk about?
Josh Smith = Guitarzan! That's a cool badge name.
Josh is so good, he got the Cap'n on his knees? He's one of my favorite guitar players too.................!
The best namm vid .
How many different ways can you remake a Tubescreamer? like there’s not enough already on the market. Josh is making it sound good though.
the best part watching Lee being rightfully blown away by Josh's playing. #envy

Killer guitar playing from Josh. Loved the fuzz and the other two.pedals were great - sadly the prices aren't.
Will Shingo come to the gig and bias the germanium for you on the fly? If not then no deal.
Josh is a monster on the guitar.

7:57 love the reaction, I can relate! :D
I need that Josh Smith Fuzz
You can find Josh on tour by watching the number of guitars left out by the curb the morning after he plays!
Cracking playing 🤘
It's the tone I love!! :D
Great breakdown ☮️✊🏼

I saw him live with David Grissom last year. JS has chops that kill. Every note clear as a ringing bell.
Would love to hear this new tube screamer compared to an analogman silver modded tube screamer.
those are some quality sounds for sure !
such skills, killer player
Silicom & Germanium, like Simon & Garfunkel...wow! Semicon crazyness
Great player 😳
just go to analong man and get a 808 or a ts 9 mod pedals for about 150

your best NAMM 2019 video, maybe that has something to do with a certain Smith figure
Danish Pete would also do this pedal justice, shame we don’t get to hear him give it a try. Love Danish Pete’s name badge!
The tube screamer is really cool, but i can't justify that pricetag...
Sounds killer!
Good lord he crushes that fuzz.
How much?
Josh qualifies as a real guitar player. No question.
Eric Johnson may dig this tube screamer..
awesome !

Dude I didn't know Mr. Smith is behind Vemuram. This just blew my mind and somehow made the pedal(s) sound even better to my ears.
Frank Meffert so is Oz Noy and of course John Shanks.
how do i modify my ts-9 to get this sound?
Become Josh Smith. LOL!
Lol the chubescreamer
on a serious note, i was v impressed with all these pedals!
Is he allowed to go out of the house “without” a cap on?
Nice fuzz...wish it were mini!
That Cat can play! incredible.
These pedals have a much more preamp style versatility and breadth imho
Pass on the TS, but that fuzz is something special!
