I love Ariel's playing so much, but Josh is just a mutant on steroids from some other planet.
the clarity and indisputable talent makes him one of my favorites, Josh Smith is one of the best
*Good GAWWWD, Man!!* Josh Smith has an insane musical vocabulary. His well never seems to run dry, and I _rarely ever_ hear him playing "lazy man's licks." Josh _never_ ceases to amaze me, and he seems to get more superhuman-like every time I see him play. Don't get me wrong, there's definitely no flies on Kirk or Ariel. They're upper echelon players in their own right...., but *come on!!!* I would crawl through a mile of broken glass to have *half* the gift, knowledge and talent Josh has. Very inspiring and depressing at the same time. Me and my guitars are so thankful I don't have a fireplace in my home....

@@LordMcMPA It’s not just about practice with Josh, he has studied so many other guitarists, including non-blues styles and has the mental capacity to instantly blend them together. I haven’t seen another guitarist who can do what Josh does.
You nailed it with Lazy Man's Licks. Josh's solos are so unpredictable and fresh. Could hear him all day long and never tire of it.

These guys know where to play without playing over each other, that's some serious skills! Can't get tired of this type of playing.
Can't TAKE it. Ariel, Kirk and Josh diggin' a funk trench you'll never want to get out of... how damn funky can 3 cats be. Special shout to Josh who was just on fire and to Ariel who just never seems to run out of completely original, super tasty, super funky (bass and) guitar ideas, sittin DEEP in that pocket. COME on, church.

I love watching the crowd grow and their expressions change when they realize how great Josh is-they’re all awesome but Josh is on another level
All 3 of these gentlemen are insanely talented musicians but that goes without saying. Kirk Fletcher inspires me so much with his world class rhythm and his note choices. Josh inspires me by being able to find new phrases through different styles. Ariel inspires me with his incredible bends and phrasing as well. I hope to one day meet these gentlemen and play with them.

Such different styles. Kirk is right in the box to perfection, Ariel is capable of going so outside the box you can see him reigning himself in to fit in more, and Josh is a mix of the two with more country influence.

Its so nice to hear tasty smooth playing such as this. The more I see of Josh Smith I'm astounded by his completeness as a player. Reminds me of Joe Pass with his rhythm and lead playing always carrying the tune so you know what's going on. His rhythm chops are what blew me away here, he is pretty much carrying the tune in the background for everyone, take him out and you lose what's special about this jam. A Complete player, you don't see that much anymore these days, it's refreshing. Love cats like that and man I'm digging Josh Smith currently, dude can hold it down.

Josh Smith has musicality oozing from his fingertips, so good. They all do but if I had to pick a favourite it’d be him.

All three are great but my personal favourite is Josh Smith - there is no limit to this guy no matter what style: Jazz/Country/Blues...etc and everything is SO on POINT!

@@DiggaDiggaDo nope it's fingers, guitar, and amp. If it's a poor guitar not set up and intonated with a bad amp the tone won't be good. The tone can be heard with one note!
Your missing the point. Even Collings responded right above. “Guitar straight into the amp”, Josh is creating the tone, no pedals involved. If I gave you the same setup, I guarantee your ‘tone’ would be nowhere near Josh’s. The amp and guitar are the tools, (its assumed its a decent amp and setup guitar), how you interact with it creates the tone and feel.
