Watch the shocking moment a far-right lawmaker uses a fire extinguisher to put out Jewish menorah candles.
It happened during Hanukkah celebrations at the Polish parliament on Tuesday.
After the incident Braun said "Those who take part in acts of satanic worship should be ashamed."
Braun then took to the chamber’s podium and insisted that he was restoring “normality”.
The incident has sparked outrage and has been denounced by all of Poland’s major political parties.
The speaker of the parliament excluded Braun from the sitting and described the act as “absolutely scandalous”.
He also reported Braun to prosecutors and announced that he will lose half of his salary for three months.
Polands newly elected Prime Minister Donald Tusk has described the incident as a ‘disgrace’.
He added such a thing should never be repeated.

The Polish parliament is not a religious institution. If it is to become a religious institution, let it also celebrate Christmas, Pentecost, Corpus Christi, Easter, Moslem Ramadan, Orthodox Passover, Buddhist Buddha Purnima and African Kwanza. Exceptions should not be made for only one religion because this would be religious discrimination. Mr Braun is right, not far-right.

But they do celebrate christmas :). They share christmas wafer every year, there is a cross in the main parliment building, hangs on the wall for everyone to see. There is even a catholic chapel in the parliment. I agree that every religious symbol should not be present in the parliment building but thats not the case here. So is it right to demolish one religious symbol and not the other one ?
@@shuttze Poland is a Catholic nation. I myself am an atheist but i believe that if this is our country's religion then it can stay. Chanuka is not a Catholic practice so it is not a part of our country's religion

@@TibijskiZadymiarz Firstly Poland is not a religious state. Fact that catholics are a majority doesn't give them special rights. Secondly judaism is not a "national religion" There are more jews around the world that are not Israeli than living in Israel. Poland had the biggest jew society and although exterminated by nazi's there are still POLISH jews living in Poland. Its in polish constitution that there is freedom of religion. If there is one jew in polish parliment then that person also has the right to religious symbols in parliment as catholics do.

Why no one ask why he did it? Interesting topic. I am not a professor of religion or an academic lecturer, and I do not know whether it's true or not. But, Grzegorz Braun protested against the Chanukka holiday/celebration, its origins, directly related customs and practices used in the past during this festival. He claimed in reference to scientific literature that this special Jewish holiday refers to the racism and intolerance practiced in many ways by Jews, as well as extreme behavior practiced, e.g. murdering and humiliating in all aspects people who are not Jews. In a broad generalization, he claimed that Chanukkah is based on racism, Satanism and promoting hatred towards people who are not Jews. I understand that there are and were always bad people in our history who caused various religions to get bad reviews. Nothing and no one is perfect. However, if it is true🤔 and the Chanukka really promotes racism, satanism, murder, intolerance, directly or not, this way or other? In this case, I am not surprised that Grzegorz Braun protested. In Catholicism, but also in Western culture, we should firmly fight against the propagation of extreme nationalism and hatred. No matter which country or people do it😔. Of course, I am completely aware we live in a crazy world where for being Catholic or for criticizing the politics of Israel or CNN TV channel😝they already call you racist or fascist. What a shame, we live in cancel culture now, so no one will give him a chance to explain his action and motivation.
