- A far-right Polish lawmaker used a fire extinguisher to put out Hanukkah candles in the country's parliament, leading the speaker to exclude him from the sitting and provoking outrage.
Footage posted on the website of private broadcaster TVN24 showed Grzegorz Braun of the Confederation take the extinguisher before walking across the lobby of the parliament to where the candles were, creating a white cloud and forcing security guards to rush people out of the area.
Television footage showed people in the vicinity covered in powder from the extinguisher.
He then took to the podium in the chamber where he described the Hanukkah as "satanic" and said he was restoring "normality".
Asked just after the incident if he was ashamed, Braun replied: "Those who take part in acts of Satanic worship should be ashamed."
Speaker Szymon Holownia excluded him from the sitting and said he would inform prosecutors about his actions.
Braun left the chamber, shaking hands with other far-right lawmakers.

Shocking? Why shocking? The Polish parliament is not a religious institution. If it is to become a religious institution, let it also celebrate Christmas, Pentecost, Corpus Christi, Easter, Moslem Ramadan, Orthodox Passover, Buddhist Buddha Purnima and African Kwanza. Exceptions should not be made for only one religion because this would be religious discrimination. Mr Braun is right.

How could he take away the sense of uniqueness of Jews? I wonder if Jews would allow Christians to place their religious symbols in the knesset. I don't think so, because in 1997, or maybe 1998, there was a great uproar in the Polish city of Oświęcim (where the former German extermination camp Auschwitz is located) when the chief rabbi of Poland expressed his expectation that the large cross would be removed from the camp. The rabbi stated that the cross was an obstacle to prayer for Jews.

The act was shocking insofar as most Poles hadn't known that the Hasidic Chabad-Lubavitch sect had so much sway in the Polish parliament as to be allowed to perform their rituals there. At the same time, many leftist politicians had often criticized the presence of the Christian cross in that same building, even though Poland was established as a Christian country back in A.D. 966. Double standards in full display. Fire safety protocols were waived for the Jewish celebration, which rarely happens otherwise. Also, the MP, Grzegorz Braun, will likely face charges, he has already been suspended as a member of his own party and fined. People quickly crowd-funded double the amount of the fine and forwarded it to him, but the financial overlords (cough, cough) have since reversed all transactions so he's got nothing. Contrary to what the official accounts say, he has popular backing among ordinary Poles tired of being third-class citizens in their own country.
It's high time Poles woke up and understood that they are under jewish occupation.

Menorah has 7 candles on the same level and can be burned only in the Temple. This is a Chanukah candlestick that got 8 candles. It is burned only to celebrate Jewish victory over infidels. Because of that, burning Chanukah candles at the Polish Parliament is totally inappropriate. Taking in consideration that in Poland, lives around 10-20 000 Jews, is also very strange. Chanukah's celebration is not part of Torah.

It was just performance to draw attention to the public eye. Looks like Monty Python,😄 but the true is in Poland, they believe that the Parliament is not the place where religious events should take place. Personally I agree. In Poland, they strongly support the independence between religion and the government. So I do not know why people are so upset with this event? Imagine Catholic people playing the flute some religious songs in European Parliament. They would be thrown out by the Police.
Those candles are a clear sign of influences among Polish speaking politicians as we call them here. 90% of them are either pro-Israel and pro-USA, or pro-Germany (ekhem, EU). But they don;t care for Poland and its people. Those are facts.

Once again, someone with no knowledge of Polish politics picked up on idiotic rhetoric, calling a right-wing MP (a true conservative), a patriot, a deeply religious Christian who knows the history of his country well, as far-right. MP Braun is known for his heroic parliamentary interventions and deeply believes in the rightness of his actions for the benefit of Polish society. In my opinion, the MP's behavior was caused by the marginalization of Christian values and symbols in the Polish parliament. Religious symbols that still remain the bond of the Polish nation and are historically deeply rooted in Polish traditions. In such troubled times, on the one hand, the war in Ukraine and, on the other, the upcoming celebration of Christmas, where many are struggling to make ends meet. The nation erupted in comments expressing approval of the heroic act in order to prevent religious divisions in Poland again. As it was before World War II, when Poland barely regained its independence after 123 years, but due to religious and cultural divisions it was a weakened country. Poland is currently politically divided in half and there is no need for additional divisions by introducing foreign customs into the parliament of the ethnic minority, which currently amounts to only one percent of the population in Poland. Additionally, the current station in Israel should be enough not to support any side of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict or to raise the celebration of holidays of foreign origin to the state level, clearly suggesting support for the Israeli side.
