    Really cool setup! I like the "only what you need" vibe. I could use some more of that myself.

      Thanks appreciate it! I really try to stick with that mentality but admittedly there are times where it's really challenging

    Really like the space, man... nice and functional, not too cluttered. Trying to do something similar in my new place - I'm basically ready to go for recording vocals, acoustic, electric and bass in a couple of minutes... still figuring out keyboards and other stuff though :)

    Very cool setup. I'm really close to seeing up my area again. Haven't started videos yet because my gunsmith business overtook my area. However, gunsmith shop will be here next weekend so studio will be setup next week!
    I really liked your ideas and will utilize and mention you in my first few videos.

    Nice space. Like the backlit desk.
    Your guitars will hold up better lower to the ground (heat rises.) I luthier told me that he mostly repairs the new, more expensive guitars from GC (his client) because they put them high up on the wall. Warped necks, out of tune, etc. You have that nice acoustic directly above your HVAC so the dry heat will damage it for sure.

      So far no issues. My furnace has a built in humidifier so it’s not shooting out dry air and I put the humidifier under the acoustics in the winter if needed.

    • @MOAB-UT
      @MOAB-UT Год назад

      @@minimalistmusician It takes time. Using the humidifier can be helpful. Even with it, I would mount a board (e.g., a shelf) under the guitar so that air is less direct.

    Sweet - neat and functional space you’ve got there. Love the look of that 3 pickup Tele too - what model and pups are they? Cheers

    • @minimalistmusician
      @minimalistmusician  2 года назад +1

      Thanks, I love that guitar!
      Neck is a mini bucker Seymour Duncan, Middle is a Joe Barden Strat pickup and bridge is some kind of custom wound Lollar. I bought them as a set out of a guitar a shop had for sale years ago.

      @@minimalistmusician I much prefer the whole vibe and sound of a Tele over a Strat, but nice to have such a range of sounds from those pups. Do you have it wired like the 5-way on a Strat or is there something clever going on top get Bridge + Neck as well (love that mix on a standard Tele)? I guess a 6-way would nail it or maybe a blender on the middle pup. I’d love to see a video of you showing off the sounds if you have time. Cheers

      It's all relative. I'd say it is considered music is 100% my income. I only have the tools i need.

    is it not a little bit to high for your arms ? i have a similar problem with my studio desk ... they are all too high to have your arms in 90 degrees with the keyboard and mouse omn top

    Great video and setup, well done! I definitely like and prefer the home setup myself for all the same reasons you touched on. But yeah, having to pack up gear and drive out to another location would definitely get old real quick. I'm currently reworking my home setup and hope to get it back up and running soon. Question, what model/brand of monitor are you currently using (the one on the desk)? And I'm assuming it's working out for you? That's yet another thing I need to upgrade. Anyway, thanks for sharing! Take care. Dave..

      It's an LG 34" wide screen. It was the least expensive one when I bought it and I really like it.

    You can’t be a minimalist with 20 strats.

    • @minimalistmusician
      @minimalistmusician  3 года назад

      The great thing about the minimalist journey is that it's about figuring out what you need and what you don't. It's different for everybody based on what you do. I need multiple guitars to be able to do my job to the highest quality and while keeping a good workflow. I actually only own one Strat too. The black Nash S63. That silversky is a loaner.
