G'day there from New Zealand. I've been watching your channel since you started it and have enjoyed your journey thus far. What I found particularly interesting in this clip is your approach to identifying, and understanding, the various elements required for the process of transferring syrup from rail cars to the trucks. This is a key element of an O scale layout I intend to construct based on an actual location in Chicago whic still has corn syrup delivered by rail so the detail you have provided here is invaluable. I also like the small details you include like the people, opening gates, collision protection standoffs etc. Thanks for sharing and keep up the great work. BRgads B

@@HartfordWhaler I did a short vid a year ago of how I constructed it (corn products industry) but like most of my industries I get them to point to present on the layout and slowly mod / change them as time permits…there will be some silo and added piping changes since I neglected the steam piping…

Looks great! I think a Corn Syrup transload facility is something more modelers should look to for a 1-3 car (and possibly more, space permitting) small industry on a (small) layout. Nice work!

Very nice... I use the same buildings and do one thing different. I use small Lego blocks in each corner to register the building. If you can see inside of the building I will make the blocks longer and make them look like an unloading dock. This makes replacing the buildings faster and very efficiant. because you can see inside I would put the same piping as you have outside with maybe some junk around on the floor. I'm lucky as my oldest son works for a company that builds these buildings in rail road yards and other facilities. He has tons of pictures inside yards where most people can not get. I have a real picture of a facility somewhat like this and you need a small office area just inside the little door for the foreman to be in and that is the room that the small AC unit cools. Looking in the end of the building where you have the 2 men and the fork lift, this needs some inside junk to make it look busy. Maybe some empty pallets stacked up and some barrels setting around. I really like your road and the details you have in it... Check out the Boomer Diorama site for a great tutorial on weathering and all sorts of stuff. He is a great teacher...

Thanks for the great tips! Detailing the interior is on my to do list. Would love to see pics of the interiors if you ever post them or can email them (my email is on the community tab and in my profile.) Good idea on the Lego blocks. Thanks for the comment and for watching!

great stuff paul !!! btw, you will not have to keep moving your delivery cars back and forth very often as the black hoses are used for this. also, btw, adm would do it this way so they would not have to keep paying the p&w rr switching money !! i have friends that work at an ice cream plant and they do it this way perpetually !!! just fyi stuff for you !!! nice work, paul !!! i am pretty sure you knew this but maybe some viewers don't !!!
