Bro you need a hair cut badly 😂
Please rebuild the engine! 🙏
Looks like your kind of man handling the body parts. But I guess you have to.
I'm as excited for P1 rebuilding content as I am for Robs 4 rotor content.
You guys should drive it stripped down before putting the body panels back on
Glad to help! Let us know what else you may need to get this epic build done.
So great of you guys to help Freddie out!
you folks are the definition of kindness!
You guys are going to be the saviors for this project...kudos to awesome recyclers like you!
I am glad that I have purchased parts from yall in the past and will continue to do so, yall are great.
do you have a not water damaged P1 that you can give him? :)
Good thing you can find those modules because I was wondering how you would source them without losing your arms and legs to McLaren.
AZ Cycle Parts to the rescue! Glad to help!
Hey guys, here's how to replace a hybrid battery in a mclaren p1 using common hand tools
No limbs, he only sold half his soul to the devil and the other half to McLaren
@Chrisfix you know, if you started something like this, you’d have a lot of people who would follow that. I’ve been following since before you started drifting and the addition of that got me wayyy more engaged with the vids
CHRIS! you should see if you can get in a guest star/cameo in the series.
These V-Engineering guys are a godsend! This guys was so chill and was giving such good advice. Really hope we see them more in the future!
They they got some great advice for the P1.
Is it legal 😂
It's good to know Tav will have as much help as he needs moving forward. Those UK guys look like they know the car inside out and want to help.
And he’s so right. Drive your car and it will usually be much happier than a garage queen / museum piece.
@@marketingjames2718 That's a good question regarding warranty and such too. Custom LFP with high voltage output and oil cooling by a relatively unknown company, what could go wrong?
Mclaren is kinda known for being cool with the custom parts people, but something regarding safety? You'd think they would sue, or at least insurance might have something to say..............
I couldn't believe my eyes, the moment Tavarish tried to remove the dashboard.... it was painfull to watch but at the same time hilarious. Mixed feelings :D
Love watching the progression of the "what percentage of this McLaren is sand" question.
honestly every video his mclaren gets so much cleaner just to drop 3 pounds of sand from a nether region in the next video hahaha
Don't you mean "What percentage of this Sand is McLaren"
67.8876%
Then the question of how many seconds till the dash crushes freddys nads 😂
I’m starting to wish they’d swept up and saved all the sand to show the total at the end
Tavarish's optimism is great
Inside he's crying lol.
It’s still early
Pulling stuff out really is the easy part.
Putting it back together will be... interesting to watch 👍
it is also, unrealistic!
It really is his super power. Most people would never even have bought the car, let alone continue working on it after taking it apart.
Mad respect to the Tavarish team. I can't believe how much work has gone into disassembly alone - and removing the sand, fluid, gunk, corrosion, etc. I gotta watch this thru to completion now XD
ok
That dude you spoke with at V-engineering seems like the real deal. Extremely knowledgeable and not just a sales manager, so excited for the collaborations you will have with them in the future!!
Anyone remember when we all thought he was crazy for rebuilding the turbo Lambo? Well, that was absolutely normal. THIS is insane. And this is why we love him.
That lambo never work imo
Beep bop... I'm the Philosophy Bot. Here, have a quote:
"We sometimes encounter people, even perfect strangers, who begin to interest us at first sight, somehow suddenly, all at once, before a word has been spoken"
~ Dostoevsky
The further you get the more insane this project looks. Those wires... Oh my god. I'd have nightmares about plugging them in for weeks 😂
I don't know if that was a joke about the 70k$ clamshell lying on the rubbish pile, but I think you can totally fix it ! I would recommend doing a negative mould from an intact clamshell (Hardest part since you need another P1 and an owner who is willing to do so). Once you have the negative mold you can insert your clamshell and repair the broken parts of it 👌🏻
Let me know if you need more informations on how to do it.
I don't think he really is worried about fixing it. He is getting part for free his sponsors paying for it
I would love to see a reaction video of McLaren factory techs watching Tavarish wrestle that dashboard
As Jeremy Clarkson once said " "Handmade in England" just means the door is going to fall off."
Jeremy has such horrible green teeth. Oh yeah, his british.
I read that in Jeremy's voice. Wonderful! :)
Wonder if Jeremy saw those shims before he said “plumb dead straight westminister abbey”. 😂😂
@@CrackerSmith SAME LMAOOOO
@@CrackerSmithpretty sure we all did 😅
Thank you and your team for allowing the public to be a part of this adventure. Its an amazing journey & I cant express how exciting it is to see the progress!
ok
Allowing ? Lol . The public funds this.
I’m 1000% hooked on this. I’m so appreciative you’re sharing this with us. Given what you know at the moment how long do you predict this project will take?
Tavarish’s P1 is even more rarer than he thought. His headlights contain the mythical headlight fluid that many people have been searching for. 😂
Blinker fluid... its as rare as unobtainium.
He'll later regret pouring out that small amount of essential fluid.
The First Gen Dodge Viper actually had "Blinker Fluid" as it came with a small bubble level in the headlights to help with installation
it was blinkers fluid, and it should be replaces as it lost its color
It can only be installed with a left-handed screwdriver
The fact your working on a 2million dollar car in a project binky T-shirt has now elevated you to legend in my book 👏
@Michael Jones
Yes I agree 👍🏻 and I liked that shirt too
It’s a subtle hint that this project may take a while 😂😂😂
@@GuestInMyOwnCountry because they already know its got water inside of the oil, its told them then need to do a full engine rebuild, which is why they're likely saving that till last.
@@JRs-Garage I was a randy teenager when Binky was started. I am now retired 😂😂
That T-shirt was handed down from his grandfather 🤣
@@GuestInMyOwnCountry so for oil to get down into the oil, in a normal engine, the water would either go up the exhaust or in the intake, and seep past the valves and into the cylinder, from there it would then seep past the piston rings and into the sump. Now the McLaren isn't a normal engine in that it doesnt just have one big sump, it has multiple, so water to have gotten into all of the sumps, it's not a good outlook on the engine being unaffected by rust
You are one of a kind compliment of what you can do with your golden hands !
You three alone, no matter what you work on are the best. You guys really brighten my day. It helps you guys have the sense of humour as me 🎉 keep up the good work. If anyone can pull this job off is you three. ❤ Australia 🇦🇺
This guy is taking us through such a niche and hidden market, so few of these cars were produced that I bet no one knew these things about McLaren P1s, and Freddie is showing us a new world, this is purely magic and I never thought I'd be so invested in a (definitely 1st in the world) journey like this. You're truly a pioneer.
Makes me appreciate the P1 even more, so intricate.
Perhaps if Mclaren would support this project, at least with all technical documentation, it would be a game changer.
Same when recoding of all modules is needed..
Yeah, we now know how much water and sand a P1 can hold/ hide and it seems like there's even more hiding in the next vid
This whole project is completely outrageous... the perfect content. One of the best series in existence right now.
WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT???
THANKS,
DEAN
@@GardenGuy1943 why are u signing your comment
The entire "car" should have been bought for 50p. Almost everything that is metal is corroded or rusty, everything that is electronic would have been shorted thanks to sea water.
@Dean and why are you yelling
I just binge watched parts 1 through 5 in one sitting... this rebuild is beyond epic!🤘good luck with the wiring harness..
Loving this series, I`d love to do the wiring harness, that would be my favourite part. Getting all the systems powered and running correctly.
Seeing that entire dashboard come out, the front come off, the internal guts of the P1.... this has got to be the most wild episode so far. It's like being in an operating room watching surgery being done. Also, those guys at V Engineering were really cool, hope we see them again later on in the series
More like an autopsy than a surgery
Tavarish is sure giving Tyler a run for the "dumbest channel on all of RUclips" 😂 This is real masochism I can't stop watching!
Probably said this last time - but this is the most entertaining show ever - it's partly the audacity, partly the people - and finally the split second editing: we get humour and drama - and it makes for a winning combination. Thank you, chaps!
Good to see the V Engineering bloke acknowledge the cars' Machine Spirit.
I love how while trying to remove the dashboard, he starts by pulling at a fairly modest amount of pulling and jostling and as the clip goes on he begins to get frustrated and pulls, jiggles and jostles harder and faster until it finally comes off. Classic Tavarish. Reminds me of a quote from from Issac Arthur: “The number one rule in the army, ‘If brute force doesn’t work, you’re not using enough of it’”!😂😂😂
Brute force wasn’t enough tho lol it was bolted
@@deyd.8659with enough brute force it could be unbolted
@@GuestUser18 technically it would still be bolted but no longer together.
@@deyd.8659 you’re right, but I have to also agree with the second comment; with enough brute force, those bolts wouldn’t have stood a chance!
Plus I really just love Issac Arthur’s “The first rule of combat is…” quotes. I’m pretty sure on one occasion he actually started three sentences in one paragraph with “The first rule of combat is…” and they were all separate rules!
Great meet you Freddy and hope this helped with future colours and ideas for the P1 and meeting Paul and the team at VE Engineering - Looking at the videos probably rather you than me with getting this P1 back to its best. After meeting you I am sure this will be an outstanding Mclaren P1 in the end. Richard
your car was outstanding!
That purple color is amazing.
Incredible work guys. Thats a brave project to take on, but you have overcome so many of the obstacles already! 👏👏
His comment about the wiring harness being hooked up and then hoping it works totally reminded me about Clark Griswold in Christmas Vacation and the Christmas lights scene!
I cant believe McLaren have not invited you to their HQ... You are so good for their brand....and what you are trying to do is quite inspiring...
Aren't they having severe financial difficulties or something?
@@smithjones1906they nearly went bankrupt but I think they’re recovering
Because they don't want everyone who own McLaren to fix their own car themselves. BUT to send it to them to fix it instead. Because it's a business. :D
Hes denying them 750k in parts and the same again in labour...
They want him to send the car to them to fix to make money from it, not him fixing the car and sourcing the parts through means other than them.
What makes Tavarish so successful isn't mainly just his mechanical knowledge, but more importantly his knowledge on how to network effectively for each one of his builds. Truly genius work...
How are you
ok
I love how we can almost guarantee that the engineers and mechanics at McLaren love seeing Tavarish and Co. tackle this project head on.
It would be sweet if they could sponsor him.
Can’t wait to see you get going with the rebuild. Love your excitement too Tav 👍
This is unreal...i honestly thought you were gonna hit insane road block on this project with the batteries and module but you seem to be smashing them with great help from the community
I mean considering the guy he may get a battery from didn’t say anything about pricing, and that isn’t even released yet I wouldn’t say the battery bridge is crossed yet. But it is encouraging to see that there is a potential solution that’s not the price of a house.
@Lifeonmars HOWEVER, they did talk about the place that actually built and now rebuilds the batteries. So, sounds like he can possibly get his fixed or maybe used as a core for one they have much cheaper than mclaren.
I agree man, this is quiet insane he managed to get together with people across the world to help him with this. Reminds me of when he did his 675LT with Jared. The build was just different with no collabs for the most part. He's doing a hell of a job!
@@marcusofranz1102 If they can put their new battery in the famous infamous flooded P1 and make it work, it would be a huge for their brand name and proof for customers
@@Tortuguita117 there’s only 375 p1s….
It's so good to see Freddie laughing and joking around again.
@@kingsrevenge9234 Hell yeah brother, the dude I knew who dropped out at 17 for gospel SoundCloud rap is bigger than Jay-Z right now.
Love hearing from engineers. Soft spoken geniuses who look to solve problems vs. massage their own egos.
Excellent segment
Man, you literally got me in stitches when tried to remove the dash, I was crying!
What a top team effort, you beat the whole youtube.
Man, you are really writing history here. When the mclaren is build, this one is the most unique one
so far he hasnt even gotten the motor out yet, and you are calling this "writing history". ok.
This is my favorite RUclips series rn. cant wait to see how everything continues going
Agreed. More and more it looks like it was a really bad idea, but man I'm hoping it works out.
@@dizzy_derps bad idea? Are you crazy? Do you realize how much views and sponsorships this generates?
@@xiukn8 No, I'm not crazy. But unfortunately for you I AM rubber and you ARE glue. I'm sure you know how that goes. Good luck with your mental illness.
@@dizzy_derps A channel this big can make the money back no issue, plus he gets a p1 at the end of it all!
Freddy, Jack and all our favorite CarTubers have breathed in so many Amoebae and other creatures from the Sea's Micro-Cosmos that's inside the flooded P1, they'll soon conjoin into the creature from the movie, "LEVIATHAN"!! 😳
Shmee's face will barely squeak out, "Pleasssse......helllllp us.......cheerrrrrrrs".
Lol, that probably won't happen, but seriously the real danger is, that the dust in the P1 may be highly Diatomaceous.
Watched all 5 parts thus far. Excellent work guys. Keeping my fingers crossed for you guys - if anyone can get that done, it's you guys! 💪👏🙏
Rebuilding this car is simply insane!! That’s why we are here. Let’s gooo you got this!!
I've always admired Freddy's commitment. Whether it's in "Topgear" or rebuilding, he'll eventually make it.
Car Trek ?
Divorce causes weight gain. Fact.
@@warren.effting ofc
He and Mat Armstrong would be great as TopGear hosts. Sack those muppets, Freddie and Paddy, worst TopGear hosts ever.
Nice ❤ ❤
That scene where you're trying to "massage" the dash out, I thought you were having a hissy fit but realized that that was some real mechanic stuff right there because you kept your cool and didn't break it. Mad respect
I was dying cuz I also thought he was just going monster mode on it
I decided in that scene that Tavarish reached "Mclaren Master Tech" status.
He was a little more aggressive after every jumpcut. I thought the next jumpcut would reveal him just punching the shit out of the dash and cussing it LMAO.
I actually think seeing him working like makes it apparent that no one ever should drive this death trap if it ever gets finished
The second that sequence started I was like “oh yeah he definitely missed some hidden screws”
Engaging and awesome, as always!
Watching you guys struggle through many of the same issues I did 35 years ago, but on a '75 VW Rabbit- without a lift or garage😅
it confirms my learned behavior that epic cussing was always appropriate while mechanic-ing.
You've got a great team, love the energy, and the comedy along the way! Keep up the great work
You're taking so much punishment from this car and you just keep brushing it off, I commend you for your persistence man! Keep up the good work!
This project is so complex it gives me anxiety just looking at you take it apart. God bless you and your team!
ok
I feel the same way like I'm putting it back together 😭
Fantastic listening to these 2 top men .
Tavarish, that's going to be one hell of a project assembling it all back together.
Good luck
Greetings from Sydney Australia
This has to be the most ambitious build on RUclips right now!! I freakin love it
*Ever
Man i felt like i waited weeks for this episode, it did not disappoint, it was a great you travelling to the UK and visiting V Engineering, a great find and i am hopeful we see more of them in the coming episodes. These are videos are becoming unmissable, along with Matty Armstrong you two are the best RUclipsrs out here..
I second that. I discover matt this year and it led me to this channel.
Same here. RUclips legends
Longgggg day! Just rolling my first joint it’s 1:28am in london. Iv opened RUclips and this the first video I see! Been waiting for Part 5 lol! Timing couldn’t be more perfect! 😊
Hey Tavarish!! Long time no see... i used to watch your channel a long time ago...but I left you tube... your videos got me thru a dull bleak time in my life... I'm glad to see you're still going.
I love how precise and measured Freddie was when removing the dash ...... 🤣🤣🤣🤣
He looked like he was having a seizure but otherwise really calm.
Nothing like a dashboard to send you over the edge
You and Mat Armstrong are a huge inspiration. Sweeing you tackle this project makes it seem that anything is possible and encourages me to work on my own car
True test of everything you have learned to this point ! Keep up the great work!
Only channel I watched the adds y’all put in man’s needs all the help he can get ❤
Be sure to always wear a mask when cutting carbon. Love this series!
Personal “carbon capture”..
Yep, carbon flakes and powder have the same dynamics as asbestos in your body.
@@Anankin12 perhaps some legislation is required globally to warn workers of this issue. When I was working in industry I went to numerous HSE sponsored Asbestos risk lectures, but I’m not aware of similar safety training for carbon fibre users.
@@Anankin12No they don't. Carbon can be broken and extracted by the body. But Asbestos is a silicate mineral and cannot be readily extracted by the body as it does not react with almost anything.
HIGHLIGHT OF MY WEEK LETS GOOO

That’s just depressing
Love what you’re doing Tvarish so entertaining V Engineering great to see you’re getting help 🇬🇧🇺🇸👍🏻
These guys at V Engineering are just incredible. Wow.
Having the money to do it in the first place, is one thing. Having the knowledge and commitment to see it through, is another. To have the balls to do it, that's something else!
Well done Freddy (and Jack, plus crew). Keep at it, exciting to see the progress and how you are tackling it all.
How are you doing Mr.Chris
I love watching content I can really relate to. Nothing like watching you rip apart this $2M P1 with the same level of care I used when ripping apart the Power Wheels Jeep I found for my kids by a trash can on the side of the road. Hammers, drills, pry bars… it really hits home.
It's crazy! I can't imagine. Would take me days to remove a piece out of an abundance of care.
He’s useless hard to watch to be honest he’s got no business working on anything decent
The paint colors are just beautiful
That wiring harness was a huge grab. One of the most important parts to get
I love how you guys are just banging away like it's an old Camry. I mean, sure, it's just a car right? Epic series so far, really admiring the courage you have to take on a project this big. Very well done so far.
This series is so awesome!🤩🤩 Keep up the good work!👌
Should have gone a week later, they had another P1 in there. Great guys really easy to get on with and super helpful
Seeing that wiring harness gave me anxiety 😂 what an incredible undertaking. Respect

Rarely do I watch a video on RUclips and wish it was as long as a feature film of 2 hours or more. Those minutes went by in the blink of an eye.
There is no rebuild on RUclips better than this one. Absolutely mesmerizing and so entertaining to watch.
props to your friend for helping you out with this.
This might just as well be the best Milwaukee advisement I've ever seen 😂😂
Tavarish will definitely bring back this flooded P1 to life. I love the progress being made here❤
Watching you shake the dashboard made me think....I doubt anyone in the entire world has ever done that in a more expensive car, or a car even close to the cost of the P1 😂😂 superb content as always, cant wait for the next instalment!
Wildest moment of the video so far
yeah I was like “bro, that is Observably still connected to something!” 😅
Cringed hard
Good thing you noticed the leak in that headlight. Just need to order a couple quarts of McLaren headlight fluid. Loving the journey so far.
KUDOS to Tavarish & co. for taking on this epic McLaren P1 project with full transparency (never seen so much sand in an exotic). Surely it's going to make it in the history books when completed... McLaren P1 comes to LIFE after a swim!
Great video Freddie! And major kudos to the guys at V Engineering. What a great service they’re going to be offering and you can just see the passion they have for these cars even with their British understatement. This is such a great project.
The finest amount of precision and the amount care put into taking that dashboard out is truly amazing. Lol love the series so far.
bro gave it the cave man treatment lmao
Ever since I seen your famous P1 on the News being washed around in the ocean I've been so intrigued. When it's finally finished I hope you enter the P1 into some car shows for the public to see it.
Freddy man im so hype for this build my man we all got so much faith in you man
This has been one of the most anxiety inducing things i have ever seen, I don’t know how you plucked up the courage to bring a drill anywhere that car, i felt every clip snap in my skeleton the palpitations were unreal great series cant wait to see the end product
Tavarish, thank you for how meticulous you are in the production of your videos. They’re always worthwhile and joyful to watch. Best of luck on all your builds. Looking forward to the next season of cartrek.
Very inspiring to see how you deal with obstacles and difficulties through this journey 🔥
I get that taking on this project is good for the channel. It definitely drives traffic to it. But I can honestly tell that you're also taking this on because of your love for wrenching.
As someone who has built a few computers before, that wiring harness gave me both chills and ptsd in the form of anxiety. Needless to say, I can't wait for the next episode.
when he showed that harness i thought to myself how much fibre optic is in that thing. i know your anxiety about car wiring. I can't even imagine trying to adapt a cluster from a different car. i think he needs someone to print him out a wiring diagram and hang it on the wall for reference because i have the feeling he will be referencing it a lot
What an episode! Humor was on point, educational, subject matter experts, it had everything!
And OMG that wiring harness!!
Tavarish on that dash is me on every part...So much respect to the team with the time and dedication that went into bringing this masterpiece back to life.
Hey guys, great work! - I use a Drill Guide over seized bolts and cobalt drill bits to drill them out. This is both faster (less heating) and reduces the amount of adjacent damage.
This is the most exciting video series about people applying skills I will never possess, to a car I couldn’t possibly own, ever! I’m hyped as f*ck to see the progression that is being made, awesome!
17:24 to 17:44 Quite possibly the funniest part of this series so far! I can only imagine how frustrating that must have been to have seen so much movement but nothing giving! 🤣
@@kingsrevenge9234 NO‼🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣

as much fun as i have watching you take this apart, my mind is boggled when i think about you putting it all back together without the manual
Well it is all video documented anyways
This is what he does. Somehow he gets it done. Even if he needs our help, I helped him on his first build with something electrical because that is what I do for a living.
