This is the DEI 516U talking Vocalarm Module for most DEI car alarm systems.
It initiates the following phrases through the included siren:
"Viper Disarmed"
"Viper Armed"
"Violation"
"Protected by Viper, Stand Back"

This truck is protected by viper....turns on halos lol
you should try to hide the alarm modules and the wiring to/from it. That siren install could not be easier to find and cut to get around it all.

I am going to be purchasing the Viper 350 Responder, along with the Viper 516 voice module, 508 proximity sensor, and battery back up later in the week from Best Buy for my new Suburban Z71. It looks like a great system. Best Buy is doing the install. Is this system going to be as great as I anticipate it will be? Any suggestions before I purchase? I don't think I would ever use the remote start so I am not getting that. Any more accessories that I should get prior to install?

sounds good bro.. i was just wondering.. i read that the 516u is universal... i would think it wouldnt say viper armed.. i wanna get one but i thought the 516u would say system armed.. i could be wrong tho.. are you sure yours was the 516u?

Hi,
I installed a 516U to a Viper 350+ using the simple manual. It was easy, just colour match the wires. However I did not connect the green warn away wire because I don't have an external shock sensor.
When I press lock on my key fob the 516U says nothing. Sometimes when I press unlock it says "protected by viper stand back".
When I turn my ignition key on it just says "viper" and then cuts. When I turn the ignition key off it says "viper armed".
Can you help me on what I did wrong?
What model Viper alarm do you have. I have the 790xv with voice module but no proximity sensor. Just remote start. What is the model number for your proximity module. I would like to get one.

Is it using both the clifford siren and Viper or just Viper siren

hey buddy i had some one brake widow in my 98 honda civic i love my baby i put new 4 cylinder motor in it and i had glass window company install new window and i spend after that 600$ worth of viper alarm parts thing is i dont know how to fix the time on there do i have to plug it in a computer and set it up or i can do it from there let me know asap u get a chance thanks buddy also how did u get voice box on your viper its really sick

Hi, thanks for the Demo. Iv just had my Viper alarm install inc the 516L Voice module. it says Viper armed and Viper disarmed but im only getting the warn away chirps and Not (protected by viper stand back) . My installer says i have to use a custom message for that so he used his own voice ?? Is this correct or should i go back to him to fix ? it cost me £300 just for the install :-/

11 months late, but that model has both versions, a version you make and the preset viper ones although they are tweaked, so they don't sound like the original og one. The 516u is just the viper version with a universal warn away option too

to bad you couldn't change the voice. I'd make it say: you have violated a protected vehicle, the police were called, leave immediately.
