Successor to the South Carolina class, I believe you mean NORTH Carolina. Also, Washington Command? Don't you mean the Washington Naval Treaty? Come on WG, get your history right at the very least if you are going to make a video on a ship you are charging an arm and a leg for.
"The South Dakota-class battleships to which the Alabama belongs, became a logical development of the *South Carolina* project," (0:58). All right WG, so I'm expecting a South Dakota secondary BB line branching from Tier 3 South Carolina: AM I RIGHT ; )
I had the honor and privilege of visiting her this past February. I even shot about two hours worth of footage with my GoPro, which I will edit and post to my page when it is ready. With some luck I might be able to make it over to Texas this year for the USS Lexington, USS Steward, USS Cavalla, HA. 19, and of course, the USS Texas.
I think they meant to say she was a development of the North Carolina class, which they were. That being the case, it makes perfect sense they are so similar in game. I find that's she's really a better NC. She is much more maneuverable and her torpedo protection is far superior. She is my new go to ship for credit and XP grinding. Better buy her while you can!
*In battle Alabama:"YEAH I WILL SURPRISE YOU ALL WITH ALABAMA STYLE!!!" Every ship in battle:" Oh god no..." USS Portland: "yeah just like what i do with my lil indiana" *hands shaking
NC class entered service in April and May 1941, South Dakota class one year later from March to August 1942. South Dakota class was an improvement to the NC class, they made the ships shorter so they could improve the armor without making the ship heavier than allowed (by the time they were planned).
One thing I'm somewhat sad that never got mentioned or implemented is AL's armor. While shorter & slower than the preceding NC, the AL (belonging to the SoDak class) had significantly better armor which was able to stand up to their own 406mm guns (the NC design only was able to stop maximum 356mm guns). In essence, it has Iowa-grade armor at T8 but gave up speed due to its stubby/beam-y dimensions, constrained by the 35,000ton limit of the Washington Naval Treaty which was still in effect during construction. Sadly the game seems to not reflect this; the AL is about as easy to pen & citadel as the NC, which makes no sense in my mind. Their guns also are the same, but AL has lower sigma (worse dispersion) than the older NC...what?
I mean she's expensive too 53. I rather wait and get the Stock South Dokota. aka both have the same number of Secondary and South Dokota had more battle stars then the Lucky A
Major Renegade No warship should be turned into a museum, they were built through blood sweat and tears for one purpose. Also if the Iowa were to be retrofitted with the latest tech she would still be a formidable warship. I believe we should build a single super battleship just for shock factor. Imagine a 90,000 ton battleship with 20 16inch that could go 40 knots, and had two nuclear reactors that powered the ship and its two main railguns that could fire a shell 100 miles. Also can you imagine the amount of phalanx systems you could fit onto it.
well they reduced the hull buff from nc ....months ago i had to use only the front guns since it was stronger ...but now.......meh... lets seee the alabama now
Dear World of War Ships Please me this game in google play Store. i am a great fan of this game i do not have a computer to play i only have a phone please make this game in google play Store.
can you be sure that you could torpbeat every single torp that come in your way from time to time ? Moreover , it solves the dilemma that US BB face every time : Stand still and you'll get torped , turn to dodge torp and you get citadeled
so, you eat 7k dmg per torp, and if you suddenly find yourself in a situation where torps are coming from everywhere, you're as good as dead anyways, in exchange for shot gun accuracy unlike the NC, citadelled by cruisers in the ass(which is why WG only said about the bow being good in the video), people overate this 50% torp dmg reduction too much, as if every ship in the game fire torps instead of HE and AP
About the torp part , i've already mentioned above in case you haven't noticed . About the 16mm citadel in the back , your citadel is not raised 2/3 way to the deck like IOWA so even if anyone managed to sneak behind you , it's still extremely difficult for them to properly penetrate your athwartship . In term of accuracy , Alabama shares the same dispersion of NC . Moreover , if i'm not wrong , Alabama's sigma is actually slightly better than NC
***** In summer 1943 only the south of Italy surrendered while the north fought untill the end defeated by partisans. The only Italian BB sunk was Roma by an air strike. The others still were Axis BBs because they didn't fight for the Allies...
I hav to admit, mixing the Game and historical footage together like that was pretty cool.
ISAFMobius18 ikr
been aboard this ship and many others!
So far, I've seen
USS Alabama
USS Texas
USS Drum
USS Cavalla
USS Stewart
USS Lexington
and soon USS New Jersey!
I’ve been on
USS Alabama
USS Wisconsin
USS Yorktown
USS Drum
USS Missouri
USS Laffey
Sonar damn, you trump me there. I’ve only seen the Iowa, Missouri, Arizona, and Midway. I’m planning on seeing the Hornet
love the 406mm firing transition
Gilang Mahardhika Agreed, that was really cool.
"South Carolina"? Did Jingles write the script for this?
LMFAOOO
LOL 😂
Well, Alabama sure is an upgrade to the SOUTH Carolina....
That's for sure!
Are they using Autodesk Maya in modelling the ships?
1:05 "South Carolina"? The WW1 tier 3 BB?
I think it's Maya. Some studios use custom UIs and different versions so it can be hard to identify them sometimes.
Knew it. That's why the interface seems familiar to me.
I think they mean south dekoda class
"Feel the ship *vibrate* and hear the waves *slap against*" Was that necessary ?
Yes, absolutely!
JOLLY OLD ALEX maybe?
My great uncle served on board that ship.
Keep talking....
Watch Ryder I never knew about it until my Grandma told me about her brother in the Navy, she told me he was a cook during his service onboard.
Mark Sanson that's so cool
Cool
One of the best battleships in history and in the game. In glad I bought it. I enjoy legendary battles with it.
Honestly I'm real glad I toured the USS Alabama a few years ago.
i dont know why, but the shot a 0:22 makes me feel very happy, the change from the game to an original video clip of a set of 16's firing
My grandfather served on this ship during WWII. was fun to have him take us through the ship.
Successor to the South Carolina class, I believe you mean NORTH Carolina. Also, Washington Command? Don't you mean the Washington Naval Treaty? Come on WG, get your history right at the very least if you are going to make a video on a ship you are charging an arm and a leg for.
Johnathan Roth you mean come on
Thanks, autocorrect, it doesn't seem to like when you forget the space between "come" & "on"
It's milking the cow one more time ...It's a Russian game, its all about the $$$
we found a goof
A first for WoWs, as most of their other historic clips are fairly accurate.
SWEET HOME ALABAMA!!!
"The South Dakota-class battleships to which the Alabama belongs, became a logical development of the *South Carolina* project," (0:58). All right WG, so I'm expecting a South Dakota secondary BB line branching from Tier 3 South Carolina: AM I RIGHT ; )
t3
alabama with all current statas unchanged
What program do you use for it? 0:53
I visited the ship at the end of 2015. It is the very first battleship that I have ever been to.
Wow
i have seen the alabama in real life!
I live 20 minutes away from it
**envy intensifies**
I want to visit a museum ship so bad especially the battleships. :(
I've seen it twice now. Never gets old
Freedomizer i have to.

Ever use Scharnhorst in this game?? That's one of my favorite Battleships.
*In battle
Alabama:"YEAH I WILL SURPRISE YOU ALL WITH ALABAMA STYLE!!!"
Every ship in battle:" Oh god no..."
USS Portland: "yeah just like what i do with my lil indiana"
*hands shaking
can you put a critical hit button? a button where you can see the critical places of the ship
Such a amazing warship. Can you re-add her for the 2017 christmas?
My grandfather served 5 years aboard the U.S.S North Carolina
What do you use to model the ships?
I've been on the Alabmama in real live it's really cool.
Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't the South Dakota class ships launch before the North Carolina class ships?
NC class entered service in April and May 1941, South Dakota class one year later from March to August 1942.
South Dakota class was an improvement to the NC class, they made the ships shorter so they could improve the armor without making the ship heavier than allowed (by the time they were planned).
No, NC came first
My bad was thinking about the Iowa class
"South Carolina"?
1:04 yeah wtf
I live 5 minutes away from that real ship so I can say that is a pretty good recreation of it but the real ones a little different
is this game only in computer? or we can download this in our phone?
0:08 I wonder what flags are up there.
Hopefully anti-fun and engaging flags.
You guys should make this ship an official ship in the game (not a premium ship).
This is so awesome!
Why is the battleship 'Alabama' not available in the tech-tree
You mean North Carolina project, right?
I love this wonderful battleship
South Carolina?
Is this no zoup for you doing the voiceover?
I had that Feeling when I was Aboard the Battleship New Jersey.

This Battleship have a lot Incest Jokes into its build
you make a really good job for modelize the ship gg !!!
We've never been able to stand behind the wheel of the WoWS ships. I want to walk on deck , at least while in port.
WOWS, WOTS and WOWPs are pretty crap when it comes to story-telling and living crew on these ships.
0:51 THAT WAS THE MOTTO OF THE OLYMPICS
since they came out I've been sinking these like crazy with tirpitz

Why not make 'South Dakota' class battleship a researchable tier VII battleship in World of Warships
3:35 looks like 60fps, cool :]
is this forest gump related?
Sorry?
went head to head with an alambama in my north, it is strong, but I stilled killed it.

meng wang Dude they did it before like 2 times already
What about USS South Dakota? (BB-57)
Basically same thing, just different name and career history.
They'll add her later too much history not to.
I mean she's expensive too 53. I rather wait and get the Stock South Dokota. aka both have the same number of Secondary and South Dokota had more battle stars then the Lucky A
Is it premium or not?
Grand Admiral Thrawn It is.
Should've placed the song for the vid as "sweet home alabama"
Is South Dakota guys
Sorry I’m wrong guys sorry any whose reading my comment
Why not say a Tillman class or a South Dakota of the 1920s(completely different ships).
Can you buy this with doubloons?
Yes AFAIK.
I noticed this is the most modern Battleship in the game
Brad Haughton actually the Iowa class is the most modern battleship line in the game, with the Midway being the most modern ship in the game.

Johnathan Roth The kutusow is the most modern ship. Des Moines is also more modern than Midway.
Sure, why not build a fleet of Battleships to play with, nobody cares about the national debt anyways.
If we happen to go to war with N. Korea, the Iowa class would do a very nice job at shore bombardment in order to land marines ashore
That’s a nice South Carolina
roll tide
Proud captain of Hms Monarch
There are no waves in world of warships so no I don't feel that
Matt Burch turn your graphics settings up.

fix your english first
I play world of tanks
they didn't mention the 50%TPD that's straight up P2W did they ?
Doan Khiêm if you're actively showing your side to the torpedo to use that "OP" 50% reduction instead of dodging them, you're doing it wrong
can you be sure that you could torpbeat every single torp that come in your way from time to time ? Moreover , it solves the dilemma that US BB face every time : Stand still and you'll get torped , turn to dodge torp and you get citadeled

montana armada
I see a lot of American fanboys having fun here....
Thats because unlike most of the Axis BBs, our battleships survived the war!
ceetee1459 You said all....MOST isn't ALL....
Come on! Only one Axis BB survived the war!
***** In summer 1943 only the south of Italy surrendered while the north fought untill the end defeated by partisans. The only Italian BB sunk was Roma by an air strike. The others still were Axis BBs because they didn't fight for the Allies...
***** But they still weren't Allied ships, the Navy was the most loyal "army", If they could escape in a German port they would do thst .
I wreck lots of these ships now in my NC. These wallet warriors love giving broadside.
Bet uss albama kissed its sister ship
