A lot of people tend to underestimate the power of coil tap pickups. A session guitarist's best friend! Almost every tone you need in an affordable nice looking fiddle. Love these guitars and this channel. Keep it up as always guys!

I play everything from ACDC to Lamb of God and in my opinion it plays and sounds amazing
I have been playing an 1965 Gibson SG Special primarily for the past 35 years and since I got my Honey Burst worn EC-256 I no longer play my SG.
I had purchased a non reliced 256, and I compared it to my Gibson LP studio. The devil really is in the details. A thinner body with the maple will produce more treble and is easier to play sitting down. The neck is thin with jumbo frets, thus easier to play. Tummy cut and upper register cutaway for easy access. Killer color choices and at a quarter of the cost of a lp studio. This really is a beast of a guitar and most people pay it no mind because the guitar is so cheap and the reviews say it’s a great beginner to intermediate guitar. Mind you, this will not top a lp standard on its own but with a pickup upgrade, it will. Definitely. I really think the guitar reviewing public underestimate both what this guitar is and what it is capable of. This guitar has the best of what makes a Gibson a Gibson and what makes an ESP an ESP. This is the unsung hero of the LTD line.
I got one of these for $180 brand new! Best buy i ever made; i only been playing for little over 2 years and have tradede a shitload of guitars, but I think I will keep this for the rest of my life

Express 5:50 1x12 combo - these amps ROCK! Pedal-friendly, decent FX loop, great clean and drive channels, 5W Class-A option. They sound very "big" for a 1x12, and even bigger stacked on a 1x12 cab. very versatile amps - I have one and I use it for everything from hard rock to church-y cleans and jazz. Fantastic!
Absolutely the best value guitars out there. Just got the Metallic Gold (goldtop) version as a backup guitar and it is weighty, solidly built and well-finished, and even the stock pickups sound awesome!
I love it when Chappers & Captain dive into the clean blues mode...very very nice playing.

recently on a whim I bought a ec-200 just because it was on clearance, and now I can't put it down. plays great!
I love how it gets serious talking about the quality of the instrument...and then you remember the Queenstache.
the ESP Ec256 is a lovely guitar. Well made, nice slim neck playability, and musically very good.
The good esp pickups are further enhanced if you dial in more mid and treble on your amp; to compensate for their inherent dark character. and coil tap.
you don't need to trade up with the 256 because, I feel, the only mod ever needed would be pickup choice. alternatives ie Emg ; Seymour; diMarzio; passive/active, subject to ones own particular taste.
The guitar itself, to my thinking, is as well made and a keeper. I love mine in lemon drop finish.

a while ago I tried this guitar out and you´re right it is very versatile and a great bang for the buck.......and I feel sad that this line will be discontinued.

Very Cool! You'll love it man, they're light and comfortable. I've sold all of my strats because I love the feel of the EC and nothing plays as good too me. I got the 256 after my 401, and I'm replacing all the hardware to gold and upgrading the pickups. Its going to look awesome.

Ok I've just got mine and I have something to say:
The nut needed a lot of work to get a set of 10's working nicely.
Fret finish suboptimal.
After I've fixed those this should be a pretty good guitar to play.

depends on whether or not youre a traditionalist, and the paul will resonate more because its thicker. but the ltd plays faster is lighter and cheaper to buy

The wood on the fingerboard does make a difference in the tone less so than the feel I the neck but it does effect the sound. Maple necks ted to sound just slightly brighter than rosewood for example. But a guitar is like a cake, every little ingredient can make a tiny difference but the bulk d the cake still tastes like just cake.

I own a ec 256. At the store, i tried them both and the ltd is a lot better than the epiphone lp standard. it has a thin and smooth neck (very easy to play) and is much lighter than the epiphone. but they both sound very good!
The ESP LTD EC-1000 Is great for heavy metal you get alot high-end products. Leadwise it is mostly a matter of taste.. But good warm thick warm comes from the ESP :)
@JoJoQwenty I am endorsed by ESP so yeah I love their guitars, but no with Andertons we just review whatever is new/reduced etc ;-)

Got one at my local store, they want 619$, beautiful cobalt blue with maple flamed top... very nice. I just m8ght go get it, sounds decent
@custardpiekashmir the biggest differences are the better building quality, wood and electronics on the higher end Ltd line. but this is a great guitar if you are on a budget or need a backup. I would say they are one of the best guitars you can get for that price, but I would recommend you getting a 401 or 1000 if you can afford it.....a VGS would be a good alternative.....great building quality and very good sounding guitars built in germany, but its hard to find a retailer that sells them
at amazon one of these(with a plain maple top and burst is being sold at $280. on ebay I just picked up one of these at $250 with free shipping as a new guitar(b stock though, small finish blemish). still 1 available, has lemon drop finish(yellow slightly orangish) without burst on a flame maple top looks beautiful. these are great deals, should be picked up.

no it doesn't the neck wood does but the fingerwood is all about look and feel...the maple look brighter and thats why we hypnotize ourselves to believe it has a brighter tone too
True, I've heard of Les Paul guitars go from 7lbs to over 12lbs. FedEx might have exaggerated. My gues is somewhere around 9lbs. I have an EC401VF(which is the full thickness like a Les Paul) and an EC256 and can barely tell a difference in weight.
Let me tell you shaggy shagg, I had the opportunity to try them both and decided to buy the Epiphone, I like the tone it comes from it better, even though its heavier than the LTD. But both are really good.

true..ive had some good esps on hands, but as you said, they werent the low end ones..they were expensive models..and even being expensive they werent thaat good..so...well, anyway they dont produce a single product (guitar) that i want anyway...i'll stick to fender, ibanez and yamaha..these 3 only gave me smiles to date..cheers mate!

i personally find the ec256 with the reliced plain mapel top and burst finish to look more amazing than those. i played one today and ill just say they have infinite sustain and dark tone. neck feels wierd though

i just got my red burst 256 and i can honestly say compared to my parker fly this sounds pretty damn good, if not THE SAME
i'd pay for the recorded version of that specific jam on itunes.
also i never tried the 256 but thought it'd be crap like comparing an ec50 with the 400's but they sound rather nice.

@custardpiekashmir I know what you mean, the only affordable LPs you get are with this thick 50´s neck....a friend of mine got a VGS (with a transparent black finish, flamed maple top and duncans) because of this reasons.
