I can’t even imagine during the centuries of learning mechanics, engineering and physics. Like Loki must’ve repeated that single day so many times he probably lost count
It was a trial for him becoming the one above all.
Dude he became doctor who
i mean he could go whenever he wants in time, might be even return to Asgard
@@crimsonhunter8997 America's answer to Dr Who, Loki.
I'd love to do it.
Loki actually spent centuries to learn the mechanics. That’s incredible.
Well, I mean, Asgardians and Frost Giants live up to around 5,000 years, as confirmed by Loki in The Dark World film, so a few centuries to him is probably like just a few years to us. Plus, he's a god, so his mental fortitude is extremely high, way more than regular humans'.
@@primalvelocity3811thats still a lot of time for him shows how hell bent he was in saving everyone
@@primalvelocity3811 he even said to Thor that 100 years is just a heartbeat to them.
@@primalvelocity3811spending centuries living a regular life and spending centuries stuck in a time loop trying to learn physics to safe his friends and entire branches of timelines is not the same surely. One is natural and the other is much more boring and stressful
@@marcopineda9507 Indeed. That was also in The Dark World film. A very underrated film, in my humble opinion. It's certainly better than the Love and Thunder film, at least to me, I'll tell you that much.
I love how it's played like a joke
But in reality, it's really scary and inspiring that loki actually use 100+ years learning about everything that o.b knew
And made his later statement "what a waste of time" even more painful
a century for asgardians who live for 5000 years is like 2 years to human lifespan. Which is like taking my 2 years master degree (which is also a waste of time 😔)

One typo and you can't understand, skill issue tbh
Loki spent centuries learning, talking with friends, and with each reset, mastering his powers as well. Centuries without aging but getting more and more powerful, and now he's literally holding all of the MCU together.
Just like doctor strange
Idk about more powerful, just more aware.

I guess he always was! The tesseract was hidden behind a monolith of Yggdrasil... Behind the snake...

Can you believe how strong will you have to possess to actually learn sth like that for centuries?! Not to mention the intelligence ... But seriously, the patience of this guy! 💚
Very true, but being a sorcerer I imagine learning this isn't that far from his capabilities. So in comparison, to say maybe Thor trying to learn it, I bet he caught on faster than most 😉 Also, already having knowledge of science, space and time 👌 Amazingly impressive either way

"Decades!"
"Century"
* loki looks visibly sad *
**CENTURIES LATER**
@@scamhunter2346 honestly, it would've worked better if it was "years" "decades" then "centuries later"
You know what just blows my mind about this too. Is that he spent and lived literal centuries, learning this, and spent it with all of them. Lived all those centuries of life AND THEN went back to his body in the timeline BEFORE all those centuries. So essentially he lived multiple lifetimes of learning and knowledge, experience and life, with his friends. Then clipped of all the physical age of it. All that knowledge and growth and experience, in his mind, of his own body only centuries younger. Wild.
You know how beneficial that would be, if you could do that. Even just one human lifetime. Imagine being able to live till you die of old age, then take all of that, all you experience, all you learned, everything... back into say, your 20yr old body. Amazing 🙌
It would be pretty cool. Reminds me of that black mirror episode where they can put a version of you in a ‘computer’ and speed up time, except it's actually you and your consciousness.
But…its theorised that the human brain has a finite amount of ‘memory’, much like a hard drive, after a few reset life-times a human would simply start to forget stuff.
Loki is a God though.
There's ton of series of that series with the premise to the point it had a genre name "Regression"
@@jackvearncombe9892 theorized but the theory is just based on nothing so... like it's probably true there are constraints on the brain but we really just have no idea what they are and there's no way for us to even get an idea of what they could be.
New game +
Worst curse ever
even his friends cant never fully imagine how long Loki has spent his time with them how far he would go for them
Just to end up alone in the end, what a harsh fate
@@cynthiaevelin8612at least through the century he spent with them was enough to make him feel less lonely
What most don’t realize is that O.B. too has had centuries of Mechanics, Physics, and Engineering due to the time distortion of the TVA. That is why it took Loki centuries to at least catch up to O.B.
"Someone's coming for your job...I'ma comin', I'ma comin'." Lol
I love it makes me laugh every time
Crazy to hear him talk like that! 😂
“The TVA handbook? You BOTH wrote it, isn’t that amazing?” 😂😂
Loki learning the mechanics combined with is magic is what allowed him to control the branches at the end, those centuries of learning and study were not a waste.
Back of the envelope calculation:
Loki spent "centuries", so let's just say 400 years as a guess. A typical college degree takes 4 years, but Loki is a fast learner/god and probably spent all his time learning, so let's say he was able to do the equivalent to a college degree in ~ 6 months. Thus, he would have the equivalent of 800 college degrees of knowledge. This probably included both broad knowledge and highly specialized subjects, so he probably would know more than any genius on Earth, such as Tony or Bruce
The fact it took him that long to understand that information leads me to believe he's not as smart as a lot of people make him out to be.
I’d like to imagine he spent a couple decades dicking around, perhaps in an existential crisis
@@ThePartisan13to be fair, they’re definitely not just using normal physics, mechanics and engineering but multiverses level of advanced versions of it, which would undoubtedly be leagues way more complex than the most complex scientific question and knowledge we currently have have. So yeah, if we assume Loki starts learning from the stand point as a starter, it would make sense that he would take centuries to learn *all* that knowledge and even be better than the literally multiverses IT guy
@@labbit3574 And yet he couldn't immediately sus out the scaling issue? My point still stands, lol.
@@ThePartisan13all geniuses need a fresh perspecrive to speculate from. Difference between a genius and just an intelligent guy, is how bendable your grasp is of the knowledge you were given. But it's very typical for our unintelligent type to always point and laugh when someone makes one mistake or a couple. The road to discovery is littered with papers of discarded ideas.
This sort of explains why Loki is so attached to & willing to sacrifice himself to save these guys.
He’s known them for centuries now. Otherwise it a bit weird that he cares so much for people he’s only known for a few months at most.
I agree aswell .It would have been weird for him to be so self-sacrificing for people he knew only for a handful of months
And to remember all their quips and jabs towards each other.
I wonder if there were a few times where he time slipped back, do nothing and to just quietly hang around with them.
Fk this makes me sad.
@@unkennyvalley287its even sadder when you imagine all the times he has seen them die
@@haroldramislives tbh I feel like he kinda gets unfazed about that... When Victor got shredded repeatedly loki was probably like here we go again in the show
Not really, most of his decisions aren't selfish, the problem is that most people treat him as such. Loki just never bothers explaining those people his motivations, which in turn gets him a bad reputation.
In short, he sacrificed himself because that was the only current solution to a problem and he was tired of running away. I mean, what were the alternative solutions - abduct someone from their own timeline to replace him; plot and manipulate others until eventually a fitting person goes through the same process he did and make a decision to sacrifice themselves.
That's what The One who Remains pretty much tried to alert Loki and Sylvie - multiple times, presumably, but they were stuck in loops of running away when faced with problems ( the only difference being Sylvie misplaced running away with desire for revenge ).
I think Jane and Thor would be very puzzled if they saw Loki speaking like that 😂
I NEED to see this Loki interacting with Tony and Bruce and them being completely dumbstruck at how intelligent he is
Loki just casually spending centuries learning about physics until be becomes the Marvel's version of The Doctor
I love this comment.
How wholesome he became after spending hundreds of years with his friends he was trying to save. Probably made it easier for him to live with his infinite solitude he was about to have
Let's not forget that Casey didn't skip a beat when Loki asked to learn, I have no doubt that Loki would've gone to him numerous times to get his knowledge when he was learning about math and physics since Casey memorized the TVA handbook as well (feel like OB would be too annoying/take too long to have to constantly go back in time and deal with his nonsense.)
Loki: "I've been falling for 30 minutes!"
Ant Man: "I've been stuck in the Quantum Realm for 5 hours."
Dr Strange: "I've been dangling on the Grand Canyon for 12 hours!"
TVA Loki: (Spent centuries in a time loop) "Amateurs..."
Didn't Dr. Strange get murdered millions of times in the time loop with Doormamu?
@notashark6801 yes and I believe he actually spent centuries in that loop as well. Or something like that
@@notashark6801 but there doctor strange didn't remembered a thing and here loki has to learn everything
Dr strange has similar “time feats” if you can call them that
He didn't even try to find a different way, he heard it and thought "Well, here we go.".
The mechanics physics and engineering used to create the TVA was only possible by the shared knowledge from many kangs throughout the multiverse. It makes sense that it would take centuries to learn it all.
Yup. And now one naturally immortal being with already crazy levels of power...has it all. And decided to give everyone a real chance to live. Even ostensibly the Kangs.
Too bad those guys are going to waste a golden opportunity just to try and conquer something that has pretty much become unconquerable now.
My guess is that O.B was right about it being decades but there a possibility that Victor might have noticed that Loki might be gaining knowledge by looping, because there is a limited of time until the melt down, Loki had to loop, learn a bit more whilst getting in the way of OB, Casey and Victor and then trial and error it to figure out every single mistake
yeah imagine all could be learnt in 30 years but do the circumtances, loki only have 20 minutes to learn something new, test it, see it fail and the loop have to start again due to the meltdown.... it would actually take centuries to complete this feat indeed.
@@mamsdiawulana true but he could just go a few days or weeks before the meltdown and ask O.B
@@torad_2120 yeah but he has to test each and every theory during the meltdown. To see it fail. So being closer to the meltdown is crucial. I think
Also the problem he's trying to fix is knowledge that has taken hundreds of years across kangs, ob, and you know time limit with physics engineering and mechanics.
This must be the best version of Loki. Who could sit literally 24 hours doing mechanics, mathematics and physics, let alone *centuries* 😂?
He had an infinite amount of time to learn, so he didn't necessarily study without breaks. He may have given himself vacation several times. Still, it's an impressive feat.
@lucabestea6844 Just anybody who has ever gone to graduate school in these subjects? BTW, Mechanics is a branch of Physics, not to be mistaken with Mechanical Engineering. In which there are also graduate programs. Engineers have been known to work like that, too.
Which maybe is why flextime is a thing.
1:07 A round of applause for Tom spitting _that_ one out.
Give this man a green lantern ring for the amount of willpower it must’ve taken to learn all that

The depth of Loki's character compared to what he was at the beginning is astonishing.
I lost it when it immediately cut to "centuries later" 😆😂🤣
If Loki can study physics and engineering for centuries, I can do it for 4 hours
I love that after all the comparisons they basically turned Loki into doctor who
Doctor Who Remains, literally
I cant comprehend how dedicated Loki was to saving everyone he transcended what it means to be a hero to another level, he spent centuries learning physics just so he could save the world
1:18 this part of him was unexpected 😂 he acted kind of goofy
Pure gold moment
When you think about it, he has, essentially, spent centuries with these people as he was learning the mechanics. It's no suprise that he's more goofy and friendly around them.
Loki basically now the smartest man alive, maybe even smarter than Reed Richards or Tony Stark
Smarter than kang…
Not exactly how it works but we can say he's definitely the smartest god ryn. 😂
Yes now he is smartest mcu character. Smarter than reed Richards and tony stark.
That's why he is now the yggdrasil tree.
Well, Tony’s not exactly alive.
Loki spent his life looking for his glorious purpose(in all the wrong places), now that it's here and he alone can make a difference loki is highly motivated
i love the way ouroboros and victor talk about how long it takes to learn all the physics, ouroboros seems to be only referring to the physics and engineering relating to the project, victor seems to tell him the actual answer loki's looking for and i think thats why he turned to him.
the dedication of learning things for a century .. and not at optimal conditions... lets all take a moment to fathom.. every time he travels back in time its only for few hours, repeats this countless times, repeat the same story to OB and the others, figure out what he needs to learn .. the idea of this puts shivers down my spine .. for centuries

Folks not gonna lie, as soon as this screen appeared my heart broke.
now i perfectly understand why thanos tasked loki to invade earth and why doctor strange deemed him as "dangerous" , this version of loki would caused the avengers to fight each other pretty soon
"The rings. The rings are too small. We're going to make them bigger."
I don't know why but the way he says that is hilarious. Like a madman describing perpetual motion, except in this case he actually got really close
loki i’m not question your surprisingly advanced physics skills
After the last episode thor's quote of loki understanding what it means to have a throne better than anybody and everybody hits so much harder. The original loki he was talking to of course didn't but at the same time that one and the tva one are almost identical. Plus since the tva is out of the time stream loki both knew and didn't know that burden better than anybody. Just so deep and awesome
Just imagine him giving Tony pointers on how to upgrade his armour.
Am I the only one who thought that there had to be a moment where Loki nearly discovered Kang's twist with the Loom but was too focused to give it that final thought it needed to solidify?
Loki demonstrates incredibly patience all throughout this episode. Not once does he get frustrated with his friends. He is calm, but quick, and he is always gentle. Makes me wanna cry 😢

1:07 Tom can use jargons and technical terms and still seduce anyone.
Loki spent centuries learning everything O.B. and Victor knew, and likely centuries and centuries more just repeating the time prior to the loom exploding working out every possible mistake to try and save the TVA. Like Groundhog Day, he spent so much time repeating events he started to learn what everyone would say depending on the situation. He stops being Loki of Asgard and becomes someone entirely different, to the point he cares about the people at the TVA and is terrified of being alone.
He became a different man after that.
He was willing to spend centuries learning these topics to avoid being alone for eternity and having to leave his friends. He knew after the loom failed to hold all the branches after enlarging the loom, that it was the only way forward.
It goes to show that He Who Remains, who also went through this very similar situation, chose Loki for the job.
That dedication is incredible
In reality for someone like Loki it would only take like 5-15 years round about.

Just saw this last night. LOVE both 1 and 2, wonderful story, casting, and art direction. A remarkable redemption arch story for Loki. After years of telling everyone he's a GOD, I think he really deserves his place in time after his true change of hart and sacrifices. This was the only scene I would have done different. A quick scene of the centuries flipping by would have been nice.
Honestly.. This raised the bar for timetravel series. Unlike a certain doctor.
I loved this scene
All of those decades, repeating and learning in a constant loop....
Lol I guess Dr.Strange has a worthy opponent now
I kinda love how they said "centuries". It really goes against the anime trope, where the MC trains for a week and instantly gets stronger.
I like that this serves as a joke but also acts as some explanation of why he becomes so powerful later on.
I like to think that between those centuries, he time-slipped to his previous life on Asgard to talk to Odin and Thor.
He can live for 5000 years as an Asgardian a century is just 4900 😂 wish i could speak that fast in physics
He probably flubbed that line several dozen times, but nobody else ever got to find out because time loop.
He was determined to save his friends. Friends he eventually had to leave for their own good.
Loki: "I'm a fast learner..."
Also Loki: Takes him centuries to get an engineering and physics degree lol.

Apart from the time powers, he is actually immortal and has lived eons.

This is the best comeback story
MIND BLOWING commitment, like, really. Imagine having a plan that takes centuries to conclude??? Most people cant even make their new years resolution survive a month. The series really missed by not showing his struggle throught the centuries, it would also be important to show his attachement to the tva, once again, he spent CENTURIES living there.
To them, science and magic are one and the same. You learn a type of science to the point it becomes magic.
The same of Loki learning so much about temporal mechanics he mastered the magic of it.
best part of the finale including the glorious purpose scene, loved this. it reminded me of when Barry from the Flash tv seriesgot his super intelligence.
As a mechanical engineer, yeah. It did feel like centuries.
