    Before anyone says anything, I found the 'dynamic foveated rendering' line from Polyarc curious as well, given that's not a thing on Quest, but went with quoting them directly rather than paraphrasing.

    The first Moss was one of the best games I played on PSVR. I have Book 2 on Quest 3, but I think I will scoop up the first one again just to enjoy another run through it and see how much improved it is over the old PSVR on a launch PS4.

    Good video, but I just wish you recorded it in 4k. It's hard to appreciate what you are talking about watching it in compressed 1080P.

      This was in 2k, the highest I could comfortably record without performance issues. The video is 1080p just so it didn't take hours to upload to RUclips.

    This is my FAVORITE game on VR. Are there other games that are similar to this?

    • @liveopenmike
      @liveopenmike  Месяц назад

      Just like it, not really. There are quite a few diorama or third person games in VR though.
      Diorama: Down the Rabbit Hole, Escaping Wonderland, & Ghost Giant are all story-based puzzle games (no combat)
      Third person: Ven VR Adventure, Lucky's Tale, Max Mustard

      Yeah, except for Quill. TBH though, having tried over 60 of these games, less than ten added dynamic shadows.

    I played the Light Brigade last night after a while of hoping they would have improved it, and the resolution and performance are still horrible after the most recent Quest 3 update.
    The game literally locks up occasionally for a full second or two breaking immersion, and still has constant very apparent reprojection.
    Not acceptable!
    It’s a great game, but they didn’t care enough to optimize it fully.
    You would think that after a year they would’ve sorted things out, especially with games like Batman and Metro coming out that look almost as good as the PC counterparts.
    They lied when they said that it ran smoothly after the latest update.
    I can’t express enough disappointment I have with that company and their lies.

      @@ericsmith5498 i’m sorry you had that experience. I didn’t see any performance issues when I tested the game but granted I was only in it for about 90 minutes. Long enough to complete a run using both of the visual mode options. 🤷🏾‍♂️

      @@ericsmith5498 Awesome, glad I could help. Updates for existing games always fly under the radar because they aren't amplified by content creators to reach everyone, so I try to put that news out when I see it. So many games got Quest 3 updates that nobody knows about.

    Meanwhile, this has been the hardest game to get running stably on PCVR. There is still a memory leak issue with medium and high graphics that brings the game down to a stuttery mess after a few minutes.

    • @liveopenmike
      @liveopenmike  3 месяца назад +1

      Really? I replayed the entire game on PCVR on Sunday just so I had a visual basis for comparison before playing the old and new Quest builds. I run through it in 2 hours without a hitch on the highest settings. I guess I got lucky?

      @liveopenmike i wish I could figure it out. 3090ti, PSVR2 headset. I did get it working pretty well last night on low graphics settings. And played for a few hours without any significant jitter or issues.
      I figured out that steamvr on auto was trying to supersample the resolution to around 500%.
      I also switched some of the nvidia control panel settings to prefer low latency, high performance. And fiddled with the 2 vr related settings.
      Also disabled graphics hardware acceleration in windows OS.
      Guess I'll try it on medium and high tonight and see if it runs OK. Before, it would start at 90 fps and within a few minutes dump down to 10.
