Why Did My Electric Skateboard Run Out Of Batteries Prematurely?

My electric mountainboard ran out of battery halfway to my first stop on a recent skatepacking trip. My testing showed it should have done twice that. So what happened? Well, as it turns out, even all-terrain electric skateboards meet their match with soaked, soggy gravel rail trails! I burned through batteries twice as fast due to the sloppy early spring trail conditions--and not even my AT eskate with 8" knobbly tires could cuty through it with ease. the cold might also have limited your output. When I fly in the cold, my Flight time goes from 6 to 3 minutes and worse if I have to push harder. it's not like there's less capacity but just the battery sad makes it impossible to fly for longer. they bad terrain probably is trying to pull more amps than usual so this would make sense

Normally yeah I'd agree, but the sodium ion battery warmed up the inside of the battery compartment and everything was pretty toasty in there all throughout my couple hours of adventuring

That massive back pack isn’t helping your range situation. What do you carry in the pack? Is everything you carry necessary for just a few km of riding? If you got a smaller back pack you would definitely increase your range

It's my full backpacking loadout. Everything I need to sleep outside in winter conditions down to -10C, plus food & water, etc
