    Property owner is lucky to have you available or it would be game over for the poor chickens. Rat populations never go down on their own unless rampant disease takes over and then you have an even worse problem. Nice work, that air rifle is incredible.

    We have had problems with rats in the chook pens, and you are right. They have learned not to take baits or traps. Great shooting.

    I love how you do not go cheap on the ammo and double tap them when unsure of their death. Mercy kills are the right thing to do. These little bastards are such a pain, but they're smart.

    Good to see that you got the speed loader sorted. Man that is a very target rich location. Love the thermal when the target just goes poof and there is evidence of impact everywhere.

    I like watching your shooting because it is about as ethical as it is possible to be. I used to keep rats as pets. Individually they are surprisingly vulnerable and prone to all sorts of illnesses but their collective resilience is amazing. It is partly because they learn so fast, but mainly because they can breed so prolifically so young. If someone could develop a poison that stopped their reproduction capacity but didn’t make them feel sick they might not learn from it. Some chickens will kill and eat rats. It depends on the chook and its circumstances.

    I wish I had this gear and skills.
    I bought my house 20 months ago and the rundown place next door had the squatters (referred to as the devils rejects, facial tatts & all) kicked out 4 months later.
    Then the rats came, dogs have no chance (Australian and french bulldogs) cause you cant vatch a ninja with a tank.
    Took up residence in my floors ceiling & classic 1986 Rx7 Turbo, trashed the interior, built a nest behind the drivers taillight.
    Interior was up for a refresh now it's up for a full rebuild.

    Great job, seems difficult to aim between the wires of the mesh. I would be afraid, that a pellet might be deflected by the mesh and cause undesired havoc

    What is the doink noise that I am hearing on each shot. Sounds like it's hitting a thick glass bottle? I have a Gamo .177 single cock 1250FPS pellet rifle with a Bushnell Trophy 4-12x 40mm that works great on squirrels. Don't have that many rats to get rid of!!

    Great shooting as always. I noticed that there were some pens to the left that seemed to be lined with 1cm snake mesh. Does that stop the rats or do they just get in anywhere?

    Brilliant, non-poisonous active solution and you know how many you get. Also it has an instant effect, your not waiting to see if the numbers drop over a period of time, you can count the number taken out of the zone as you remove the bodies the next morning.

    Where I’m at, we have Norwegian rats (also called brown or sewer rats) and roof rats, I’m just curious what rats you have in Australia.

      If it is just for close distance rat shooting, you should be able to pick up a thermal scope for under 3k

    Brilliant shooting mate. I do like the thermal scope, simply because of splatter rat effect, and seeing the pellet strike mark as the rat falls. Cheers from Texas.

      Yes. Some of them do.
      I have chooks at home and they are ferocious if they see a mouse. If any of our food scraps have meat in it they fight over it. 🤷‍♂️

    I used to breed budgies and built the aviary myself , sealed it tight and the rats still managed to squeeze the wire mesh
