Rest in Peace, Bobby
His voice was wonderfull.
rest well Bobby your voice was beautiful and will remain so for as long as people still hear this song.
I love how Damon just sang his part in the beginning so Bobby could get the rest
A beautiful pass of the baton. Like, "bro, it started. just follow me into it."
That last run he hits as the glockenspiel comes in, just heartbreaking and beautiful, we miss you Bobby. X
Is it just me who is happy that Damon helped Bobby at the start
Someone wrote down there that Bobby just got lost in the music in the start...
Wow we will miss you man of soul. Time to cast off the line and set sail is what I feel when I hear the song.
I miss you, Bobby.
At Bobby's age, can you really blame him for missing the cue? Its not like Lou Reed fared any better.
Nah, his cue really got lost, and the conductor didn't really cue him very well. All good, Damon caught him up. All's well that ends well.
On top of his old age he was battling dementia... kinda gives the lyrics another whole memory "all the days are forgetting gone with the tide" art imitates life I love this song I'll hold it close as long as I can
This is a song of the foolishness and pain of war and the sorrows of it. "Trying to find someone you'll never know." You're watching people kill eachother.
This version of "Cloud of Unknowing" was better then I remembered it being! 👍
Oh man it's so sad He's gone, Rest In Peace Bobby Womack we miss you...
the meaning is so deep
What's the meaning in this song?
+Frag Wall war.
Bobby you were too good. That “thank you” at the end 😔
As we may still ride the cloud of unknowing Mr Womack has been enlighten and hopefully he has found the truth he was hoping for. Rest in peace
We miss you Bobby
Also, this was enough to make MURDOC of all people cry. Damn
Wow Bobby. What a way to take me to a certain place. The moment the notes started to play and even though you were late of the uptake. What an incredible 4 minuets. I went right there. To a very happy and bittersweet place.
Yeah.. It was incredibly deep. Oh the chills...
@@pinguimnofx1 this band saved, and continues to save, my life, everyday. I have the chorus from Empire Ants tattooed on my ribs. It was my partner and Is’ love song, long ago. But shes passed now almost 10 years. Hearing his voice and this music makes 20 and happy again. When things really weren’t so simple, but in retrospect, was so simple. It was beautiful. It was love.
@@Cooperfan54 That's so nice. This is evolving. For example, it took me almost 20 years to recognize how genius Damon is, because I haven't listened to any Gorillaz full album, except for their debut album (I was just a kid back then), until last month. It also helped changing my life. Better late than never. Keep enjoying these good stuff mate. Peace.
I will always remember you and never forget you, Bobby Womack
1 person doesnt enjoy the voice of an angel
Possibly, but I think his mic could've been switched off or turned down for some reason. Mark E Smith had that problem in Glitter Freeze earlier on too.
Wow it does make a lot of sense. Thanks!
r.i.paradise bobby womack u did a amazing job & u still have a amazing voice rest we'll king
RIP Bobby
Wow.
I think he was just lost in the music.
So beautiful
legendary night
do we gonna ignore the fact of that guitar sounding like a whale?
Rip bobby Womack
The fact that he missed the cue makes this performance special like a marker
its actually about a book, "The Cloud of Unknowing" which teaches how we can not reach God with distractions in ones mind, but how can we in this modern world with technology, when we look to the sky we see only satellites.. something already in our hearts that we cannot reach. I know this won't fly with yall because I said God.. but thats the truth.
id300129 that is not a bad interpretation
All the days are forgetting...
:,)
Chords of the first part anyone?
its prolly like Em - Bm -C - G -Am - Bm -C
The beginning gave me blue balls.
"I know this won't fly with yall because I said God.." Why not? Not everyone is an athiest, my friend, ecspecially not me. Do not be afraid to speak your mind about what you believe simpley because others do not agree.
What happened to Bobby in the beginning haha
He missed his cue cause of his age and cause of the conductor
Did Bobby forget the intro?
He missed his cue cause of his age and cause of the conductor
great song, but the vocalist totally missed his cue at the beginning, i hate it when that happens¡¡¡¡¡¡
Bobby was old, man. He did it amazing for his age. :)
And he was sick
Have a heart!
oh ffs shut up
