Car Batteries are 3-5 year max life for your basic and longer for your high end. I have a 9year old yellow top optima battery on my Jeep and I left the fog light on all night before and it still had juice to start. Over time Batteries lose their ability to store Amps. Nice informative video my friends

What's worse, is they can blow up. Especially while they are hot. Wear safety glasses working on one like that. I work on cars for a living, and I've seen batteries bulged and even busted, with the entire top portion blown off and traces of acid all over the engine area! If you do get acid on you, rinse with water immediately.

Thank you for the input. Fortunately, I didn't have to deal with that, but people need to know about this stuff.

Had a similar problem with my 68 mustang which was the voltage regulator failed and boiled the battery. Switched out the regular and battery washed down inside the car where the battery leaked with some baking soda and water repainted battery tray and all is well ever since. 😁👍

I had a battery literally blow up in the car during starting. Fortunately the battery acid drained away through the drain holes, keep those holes clear just in-case. I know some car batteries carry a lifetime warranty so as you say 'keep those receipts'.

That's insane, good to hear you're okay, man. That could've been really serious. Seems like I got pretty lucky, here.
