This is my home park! So sad you visited on a day where so many things were closed. For someone just visiting once I think the butterfly house is a must see. You'll get random butterflies landing on you and learn all about the different breeds. The Flash Vertical Velocity is an amazing coaster. That inversion is so unique for its coaster type.
I'm sure you did research but Vallejo has a 150 ft building limit which is why they had to alter The Flash to have that roll instead of the usual spike.
Definitely come back some time when more is open!

Used to go there when it was called Marine World and had zero rides. Lol. Good times. It's definitely grown a lot. I've never seen it open this early in the year...did you film this in the winter?

Haha it certainly has changed quite a bit. It was filmed last month, January 2023. They are open year-round now, at least weekends in the winter.

@@upfromdownhere The one down the Bay by 49ers' stadium was Great America. They keep shipping off some of their best coasters. Kinda sad. Didn't even know they could do that.

@@ct6852 Yeah, Great America is slated to close in the next 10 or so years. I hope to get out there sometime before then. Sad indeed.

I sometimes think Discovery Kingdom is just gonna close down forever because they are just removing so many flat rides. Like I was there the other day and the dare devil chaos coaster was gone! And the scat a bout seats were all covered up. The rides only have weekend operations when there aren't any special events. Like on weekdays we can only ride Sidewinder and Boomerang. The DC universe area is just rotting with signs and decorations just have fading paint from being out in the sun for to long. Even all the older rides like Boomerang and Medusa have rusted rails. And there simply just aren't enough people visiting on weekdays. Not a bunch of people know that they only have weekend operations on the rides. And they get so disappointed when they are only there on weekdays and don't get to ride anything at all. That just shortens the amount of people who visit. I think one day they are just gonna lose money to take care of it. Like they will only have money to take care of so many of their parks. SF has been struggling in recent years. One day they will only have to take care of most of their parks. And I think Discovery Kingdom just simply won't be one of them. Like they have not added a decent ride since 2018. That was Batman the ride. Their newest ride is Sidewinder. Thats just a beginners coaster. I think Discovery Kingdom really could use a Giga or a Hyper. But they can't because Vallejo only lets them build buildings no higher than 150 feet tall. That includes roller coasters. I think that is what is making them fail. And they are just to small of a park. Six Flags is good for their big sized parks with huge thrilling rides. The park is so small with not many rides. While their rides are thrilling they aren't big. I think they are gonna fail sometime in the coming decade or so.

Most parks don't permit filming on rides without permission (including Six Flags). As much as I'd love to do them, I try to respect park's policies. Thank you for checking out my vids!

That's not too surprising. Intamin Impulse coasters seem to spend more time down than up.
