I’ve stopped watching GAafter season 11 because seeing Meredith moving on and falling for other men pains me. I watch GA S1 through to S11 a dozen times and that is where GA ends for me. Derek and Meredith love story is the best love story thus far. Everything they over came to be together and the commitments they made to each other makes their story epic.
I don't know why Shonda did what she did to Derek in this season (11), like his death would hurt less because of it. I hate her because of this. Instead of giving one last season of Derek with a little bit of drama but a lot of happiness she tortured us (or at least me)
The actor Patrick Dempsey was causing tension and problems on the show and acted like he didn’t want to be on the show anymore but to spend more time with his family-he complained about that a lot. The show thought about different situations where the character could stay part time on the show but decided ultimately that it would be a disservice to the intense love and being loving parents story line that the Meredith and Derek characters had together. So they decided the character should go permanently.

if was 6 years old when this episode came out and i was so invested into the story and show but i never continued after his death it hurt me :( now im almost at s11 again.. lets go through this again.
I'm not even close today season 11 ..but I'm one of those people who love this scene ..seen it a couple times today actually..after watching this the flood gates opened ..I just have to remember it is just a show , they are both still alive and they both are clearly in love based on the way the light up when together...
This season was a headache. Meredith shouldve just let derek follow his dream for a while and come back home but that long distance relationship thing could distance them further and i think thats what shes worried about and then derek didnt take the job but still desired to take it but gave it up cause he cant stand meredith being mad for wanting to follow his dream. And now shes pissed at him for giving it up and deal with him being miserable for not taking it. So yeah...BIG HEADACHE.
i absolutely hate shonda for the way she made derek and mer fight so much in the last season. like if ur gonna kill off a character, at least end on a high note with him being there and not moving across the country and kissing his assistant. i know patrick dempsey wanted to leave the show and they had to kill derek, but why not just let them be happy first? why did it have to end when they were so messy and constantly fighting?
I think alot of season 11 was merediths fault i dont why she wanted him to leave but he loved her and the kids more than he wanted some job he wanted to watch his kids grow up and get old with his wife between in the face of a Job and love he chose love and shes angry at him?

Yeah it happened they were flashbacks from their last conversation together on the episode One Flight Down when she didn't know where Derek was.
