Cool spot been camping up there it is nice. All closed now was just up there yesterday went by the outfitter to pick up some gear for up coming trip. Great video hanging out with friends. Stay safe
Found out about this spot couple months ago. Did a scouting trip on a Saturday to check if my fiesta can make it and was super easy. Saw the views and said to myself I'm coming back before they close gate for winter. Chatted with Martin at crystal lake a few weeks ago and he told me get site 5 if I can. Best camp views in so cal! FYI Robert Stone creek campground is open during the forest shutdown. Take care my good man. Happy trails🍻
Yeah, the raid was easy to drive at. Campsites 4&5 will be good enough for a big group and it has a balcony view of the Morongo basin plus the San G. Thanks, Mark.. take care as well.✌️
@@Clearbrowser Paul, that is a tight bumpy dirt narrow road, so yes it would have to be a short small trailer. And maybe could make it IF no other traffic was out on that road.. I don't know. I want to go up & down the road that zigzags back & forth going straight up to get to black mountain, and just judge carefully about whether to take my 35 feet of truck & trailer up their..my trailer is 19 foot, my truck is 16 feet. Truck is 2001 Chevy Silverado 1/2 ton, trailer is a 1998 Fleetwood Wilderness Lite 19L.. I am glad you made the comment about taking trailers up that mountain road..I have camped up at black mountain several times in my 1962 Ford 1/2 ton in the 80,s. It is time to go back with my 4X4 Silverado for a weekend...this is a good place to go tent camping with a nice wood burning stove in tent..foldup table couple chairs, steaks, iced tea. Have a good time the next time you go up there....
Take I-10 freeway then exit towards Highway 243. Drive towards Idyllwild and look for Black Mountain dirt road on the left side. Take that dirt road for about 3 miles or so. Yellow Post camps were on both sides of the dirt road.

Yeah, I wanna go back there soon. Thanks, Mike. Take care as well, brother.✌️

Thanks, Jim.
Next time you guys go up, check out the Fire Lookout tower that we volunteer at. It's open for visitors now.
Definitely I’ll check it out next time, we know it was closed that time. 👍
@@20robertang it only closed up this past weekend. Hopefully only until the 17th. During the summer it's staffed 8-5.

Thanks. We probably come back there with the whole group and see also the look out tower.

Oh that’s nice, it’s should looked different back then..
@@20robertang I am going to find out when the snow melts, they close the road every winter.
Any toy haulers or rv campers ? Would they be able to even make it up there?

Did you bother to air down your tires?
What season is this?
Is this road doable in a Santa Fe? Looks like an awesome place. Amazing views 😮
The road was not as bad when I went last time, Santa Fe has a good clearance, it’ll be fine.. what I do is just drive slow.
Nice
Thanks for watching!
Alway up for the next adventure hopefully this will be one of them. Next year

May I ask what month you all went? I don’t like for it too be too hot.
How can I get there excuse me?

@@20robertang in what yellow post is it, 4 or 5?
@@adriansalgado3866
Shoot for no. 4, the one with the view.
Is a 4x4 required to go up there?. I have a 2wd Tacoma. Thanks
Your Tacoma will make it up the camp easy. They just closed it during winter..
Nice video stay connected
Thank you.
Hell yeah, first one to comment!
I hope you like the video..
Is road ok to pull a small popup trailer there?
Oh yes, drive a bit slow that’ll be fine. I see some of those there..
@@20robertang thanks for info..
Do you have to pay to be over night there? Do you have to make a reservation ?
No. It’s BLM, public land. Any yellow post camp is free, but there’s no utilities.. like toilet and water.
@@20robertang thanks for responding my questions. Blessings
Tol akala ko pinasok mo na 4x4 off roading.
I do that too sometimes.. in fact we are planning maybe next month or early November after the big hike.
