So funny how small details can make all the difference. Honestly adding those lines with the marker made it all come alive for me. One of those, "you know it when you see it" moments. Also, the black base coat of the Empire falcon gave it a slightly more bluish tone which honestly fits the color pallet of Empire vs the warmer tones of ANH. Great job.
I would love to see you build Bandai's 1/144 scale Jeti's Star fighter with the hyperdrive ring . It has a tricky paint scheme ,that they provide a lot of the stickers for. It would be awesome seeing you use your expertise to pull it off. I found the kit on Amazon for under $30.00 US
I think Bandai was accidentally mixing the sprues up. I ordered two kits that were supposed to be from ANH but one was actually from ESB when I opened them. Nice little kits.
Lovely build, been humming and hawing about buying one of these smaller Falcons, but no more. The detail is too good to pass up, shame the crony virus has put up the price a good bit... But thanks to your build video, I'll be shelling out some hard earned pennies, hoots mon and blessings from Scotland.
Great work, thanks for posting. Like watching many artists work, you initially think ‘no, that’s not going to work’ and of course a few steps later it all becomes clear!
I'd like to imagine that work that Han and Chewie were trying to quickly finish up at the Hoth base (once they finally had some time and access to a good docking bay) was the tail end of a major refit that gave the Falcon more weight capacity (thus the extra landing gear). But, in the work, something got rewired and it interfered with the smooth operation of the hyperdrive :)
Beautifully done as usual Chilly, I now feel like the Falcon is an ex girlfriend that always brings a smile to your face when recalling her curves lol.
I love every one of your builds and your falcon ones are definitely my favorites! The base coats look perfect; they each match the look of each movie perfectly in my opinion. Keep up the amazing work you're an inspiration! :)
Thanks for demonstrating the differences in the black paint pre-shade vs just putting the white over primer! I’ve got a large falcon to paint and always wondered about that. Cheers man!

I just learned a lot about using the Tamiya weathering pigment. Thank you.

These things are far superior in detail to the old MPC version that came out in... what? '79, '80? Magnificent build as well, sir.
Two beautiful gems for your collection. 👍👍👍
Great video! I’ve learned so much from it. Thank you.
A pair of small, simple models brought to life by your brilliant paint and weathering work. A pleasure to watch.

I just finished mine using this video as a guide. It turned out ok but it just doesn't have that 'chili' mojo.

They added more landing gear for ESB because when they made the large Falcon set it needed more support.
Watching this makes me want to rebuild the two in my collection. As always, great job!
I got one of these coming for Xmas. Thanks for the painting guide.👍👍👍
