Thank you I just went outside this morning and retrieved my coffee maker from the trash and tried this trick and good news. My coffee maker is working again, thank you!
Brilliant fix. After searching finally found an old rubber ear piece. Who uses those anymore anyway? Worked like a charm. Saved me the hassle and cost of buying a new one. Thanks!
holy shit. this worked. I have a K elite not the same model. I was getting grounds and water all over the top of the k cup. Saw this video, went downstairs among the 6 boxes of former Samsung phones I have, and stuck one of the earbuds up over the needle. Machine works again.
On the top the drip needle has a silicone seal that can easily be slipped off. Those lower 'ribs' on it may wear out over time. Replacements can be purchased (Google Keurig Seal). Alternatively one could purchase a common plumbing rubber seat of the right size (~1/8" or 3 mm inside hole, outside diameter ~3/8" or 10 cm by 1/8" or 3 cm thick) and after removing the existing seal place it above the existing seal and the existing seal back.
Ive been using your method for about a week now and I have had perfect coffee ever since!!!! THANK YOU FOR SHARING THIS VIDEO. I felt like throwing the keurig away and using my old drip pot. I put the earbud on upside down compared to you and I didn't need to trim anything. I use the reusable coffee filter so I had to use the bigger buds. You ROCK brother. Thanks again!
Thanks for this information. My parents' machine was leaking. I found a rubber no-slip carpet thing in a drawer, cut a small piece and poked a hole in it. No leaks on first test cup!
This actually worked! Keurig doesn't make any money off the sale of these machines, only the K-cups. It's not in their best interest to supply parts for these devices. They do have accessories, however not the gaskets or small parts that will wear out eventually. Their customer service points customers to purchase another new device, instead of providing a solution for an obviously common problem. I have a ton of earbuds lying around (they come included with so much stuff these days, even the roku). This fix also proved a point to my wife, that you never throw away old tech, because you never know if it will come in handy again someday. Thanks again. Recycle your used pods. Keep on brewing!
Maybe the biggest trick when there is leaking at the top of the K-cup is figuring out that there should be a collar around that puncture needle. My rubber gasket/collar disappeared and I too have no idea what happened to it but I never realized one was supposed to be there. I kept thinking I had a plugged up cup tray. I finally figured it out and used a trimmed piece of rubber.
What no way I'm going to give this a try I had to order a new gasket from my k400 2.0 the front one ripped I subscribe to your channel because small RUclipsrs should help each other
This is brilliant!!! Thanks for the fix!!!
I removed this part and forgot where it went thank you so much
I just followed your instructions and my Keurig is working well! Thanks for posting this video!

Mine fell off when trying to clean it. That little rubber thing I said well hopefully it’s not that important. I guess it was
