Nice video bud, I personally find myself using the 109 more these days over the 190 and P-51. Just something about it that I really like, maybe the handling.. and the mk108 :D As you said, it can handle the twisty stuff almost as good as a P-51 when it has a lower fuel level, but that small tank has caught me out a few times :)

An excellent video, I as always enjoyed the history lesson immensely. Also at 11:16 you said that the FW-190D9 has an electric starter but doesn't the Dora use the hand-cranked inertia starter since it uses the Jumo 213? The Anton has the electric starter for sure since it uses the BMW engine.
I always did like the BF109 as well, its characteristics are fantastic especially on the later models (if you got one assembled correctly) but still I like the P-38L more, the climb, the huge control surfaces and wings, the POWWWAAAAHHHHHH, the fantastic armament, the insane roll rate with the hydraulic boosters, and its not to be seen yet for DCS... :( 9:58 never go full hartmann
GrmlZGaming Well considering the P-38's omnipresence in the pacific anywhere with any army presence and a strip of dirt to land it on, as well as escorting the B29s I'd hope it comes down the pipe with the other pacific fighters. The F6F may have gotten all the glory in their massive kill counts but the Lightnings did just as much, especially in the phillipines with plenty of ground to fly them from and where its a bit claustrophobic for larger ships in places, and it was the army's only real heavy hitter for CAS considering all the P-51s were being taken by the 8th and the P-47s by the 9th
Good to see you back Grmlz :) Just a sidenote, isn't the upcoming Spit Mk IX for DCS a late model one? Wouldn't that one have a nice powerful engine giving it better P2W ratio and with this closing the gap with the Bf-109 in climbing/energy fighting?
I guess it would be a 1944 Mk IX with a Merlin 63 or 66. The best case scenario would be the one with 150 Octane fuel and 25 lb/in boost (80.9" Hg in American nomenclature) and that one would be very very powerful, don't know for how long it could keep this power setting though. These 1944 Spits also had automated prop pitch, supercharger, mixture and radiator control if i'm correct.
Since shit thunder is shit, and there's only so much you could do with WW2 aircraft in DCS atm. Will you consider try out more IL-2 BoS? The game has gotten a lot better since your last video early this year. They've removed the unlock system, BoM released(summer map, Ju-88 , bf110 etc). There's also a dynamic campaign server(TAW) very similar to Blue Flag, although the previous campaign just ended and the next one probably won't be ready for another month. Another good news is that they will release one last Eastern Theater next year, then will be switching to Pacific Ocean Theater(Japs vs US& Aircraft carrier), which sounds really promising. :)
Not in this Video, i have the starway Texture pack, but in MP flights is usually deactivated. In the F-86 Video i have it on, but here its the standard textures.

Its a inertia starter, but electrically powered.
The later 213E might have been equipped only with a manual one.

Yes, a P-38 would be nice. But there are a lot of cool planes coming eventually, P-47, Corsair, zero or a wildcat.

I dont think we know what exact engine settings we will get. But yes, the Spitfire also has a good power to weight ratio.

I dont think it will get 25lb boost. At least so far they did not go with the most powerful options possible on the BF 109 and P-51D.
Griffon powered Spitfire is planned for 2016 release also.
Visibility spotting problems are not going to change in DCS anytime soon :(
