Carol's eyes Tell the story that many of us feel
The Money Game Part 1 is hard to watch but shows the start of it. Money Game Part 2 lyric video is absolutely worth watching as well. Yes, they all connect.
I could see that the presence of a gun in the video was traumatic and I understand why. Please stay safe. This is a difficult story to watch for empathic people because even though Jimmy had strayed from the correct path in life, we see that his father was much of the cause. He could have turned out differently and been a force for good, but was taught to put money before people. Ren has once again penned a masterpiece.
I loved the genuine reaction you both always deliver. When Carol almost started crying; heck she couldn't even look at Ren holding the gun to his head, she almost brought me to tears and I'm a 55yr old jaded old man. 🥲Well, at least you both can rejoice in the news of Ren's new album Sick Boi; which came out on October 13th, and has Officially hit #1 on the UK Album Charts.
Ren couldn't believe it, all his fans were crying with joy, especially because he has no label to back him. The entire UK are buzzing about Ren and how this independent artist came out of nowhere and reached #1 without radio play or commercials or t.v appearances and tours. Ren has been in medical treatment in Canada for the past year so it was impossible for him to promote the album the way the big labels do. You should watch the short video of him and his friends finding out the news of him getting #1 being announced on the radio, it's beautiful. love you both, Cheers. ❤✌

Everyone always assumes that he kills himself at the end lol, but the gun doesn't go off it clicks. Ren mentioned how he ended that in a way that people could interpret it as suicide or as Jimmy "killing" the part of him self that was obsessed with the money game.
Money Game Part I and Part II are connected in theme with Money Game Part III, but through different aspects and topics within the money game. They are all worth a watch. I would enjoy those reactions. It is usually best to watch Part I and II in a single watch.
Thank you for another beautiful and heartfelt reaction. Apart from “Hi Ren,” “Money Game Part 3” is, in my opinion, Ren’s best work to date, and the bar he previously set was already incredibly high. It is an amazing and thought-provoking piece of performance art. At the beginning of Jimmy’s life, “one year old and his first words were’ mine, mine, gimme’; two years, old he was walking; three years old, walking quickly; four years old he was running around the pavement of his city. Then, “40 years old, and he cursed the words ‘mine, mine, gimme’; 41, he wasn’t walking; 42, not walking quickly; 43, never running around the pavement of his city.” ROM (@ROMsquad) during their reaction pointed out the irony that Jimmy was focused on chasing wealth and fame only to lose his ability to run as a result.
This wasn't a total one-take but two separate one-takes. The video was a one-take up to the wheelchair getting turned around. They had to cut when the camera was pointed at the back of the wheelchair in order to prepare for the rain scene at the end. It could only be done once because Ren only had this one suit and his pants were about to get soaked. Moreover, the lavalier mic needed to be moved from his jacket lapel to his red tie and covered to keep it from getting wet. Not sure if you noticed but the violin and viola segment of the piece is playing Ren’s humming vocals from Money Game Part 1.
Andrew Lloyd Webber, after viewing Money Game 3, stated that Ren is one of the most unique songwriters and storytellers he has seen in recent times and that he hoped that Ren’s album “Sick Boi” would hit #1. That is quite a compliment coming from this musical genius and legend.

My take on this Masterpiece is : Jimmy was always seeking his father's approval and every time he thought he had achieved success, his father refused to congratulate him, which spurred him on to go deeper into the " Money Game " by any means necessary ( the only way anyone becomes one of the " Super Rich " is through nefarious dealings ) The key part, I believe, was when he got the phone call. His world came to an abrupt halt ( just as the globe stopped spinning at the exact same time he picked up the phone to learn his father had died ) This is when he spiralled out of control and was shot by " The Cartel " . His injuries brought him back to " reality " and took him right back to when he was a young child ( before the talk from his father ) when he was at his happiest simply being free to walk, then run around his City, without any of the pressures of expectation. I also think the click of the revolver at the end was relevant, as I noticed he did not fill the chamber with all 6 cartridges .... so it represented a life chasing money as a game of Russian Roulette which, if you continue to take dangerous chances, your destiny is assured. - I understand all these thoughts and observations will differ from person to person, which is the real beauty of art being in the eyes and ears of the beholder. The planning of this remarkable video and its content was meticulous throughout. The cinematography and the directing of the script was flawless. Highlighted in the sheer confidence Ren had to have of the " hospital porter " being in the exact right spot for him to collapse into the wheelchair unflinchingly. Yes, indeed, this was / is a true Masterpiece. Your reaction was wonderful. Thank you. 🙏

I think, it's great that you still have time for reactions with everything going on in the middle east. It's interesting, I was waiting for your reaction to "Money Game Part 3" but I was sure, you already have "Money Game Part 1 and 2" on your channel. But I guess I was wrong. I was surprised when I saw this the first time. A Piano and a String Quartett. Ren did go classic and I loved it. And Jimmys Story is brutal. You really should to "Part 1 and 2" as well. Well it is a Trilogy...about the "Money Game" which is basically a Methaphor for greed ..or better said which is "a big part of" greed....and you started it at the end..that´s like start reading a book at the last page...no critic just an info.
In the part 1 video Ren gives - the introduction - of his thoughts about the "Money Game" while being kinda in the role of a Prosecutor + Judge + Executor in personal union.
In the part 2 Lyric video Ren gives - the explaination - of how the Money Game is played.
In the part 3 video Ren shows - the ramification - the Money Game can have for one´s life with the example of Jimmy´s life..
He has some great songs with his group the big push such as bongo bong, sweet little lady live acoustic version

I haven’t read other comments, or even finished the video. My face was like Eli’s, I couldn’t take my eyes off it. Then Carol, you really touched a nerve. I don’t know if you were having a hard time looking because something personal in your past, because of what’s happening in the Middle East currently, or if it’s genuine innocence that pulls your eyes away.
Whatever the reason, I had to reflect on my level of being desensitized. “Be as pure, and as innocent as children.” didn’t mean to, thank you for reminding me.

Money Game part 3
my thoughts
When he put the prop gun to his head my memory flashed back many years past when one of my brothers was in his room holding a real gun to his head, I didn't see that part, my mom did and she slowly and carefully got it away from him and with out turning around she called me over to take it and hide it away. I held that thing in my hand as if it was some venomous snake about to strike, with two fingers on the grip I carried it to mom's room and held my breath as she talked him down. My brother was ill, physically and none of us knowing for sure from what, until the coughing and blood became obvious. He spent two years in hospital in Florida, where we were living at the time, in the tuberculosis ward. The TB he contracted from his father when he visited him. After that visit awhile later our dad was in hospital for TB, none of us knew then that my brother carried that virus, several years later, just percolating away in his lungs. Of course all his family and friends were tested, lucky no one got it, since most had been vaccinated years before. After that ONE time, only one time in my entire life I ever touched a gun, any loaded hand gun. I never went near another one since. I am now 74 years old and hate guns because of the insane way some people use them, either for good or for ill, there is never a reason to own a gun. That is my own personal opinion, others may disagree and spout all kinds of reasons when saying they are safe, and fun or for security. We don't live in the wild west of old, but maybe we still do. I will still never have a firearm in my home, ever! Other than that, the whole story was outstanding! Ren of course outstanding. A quick and condensed life of one man with a father that only cared about money, what about Jimmy? Did his father ever show pride? I don't think so. I know my father never showed pride in any of his 6 children.
That brother did survive many years, then last year at age 83 passed away from dementia complications.

Múdri a talentovaný muž, ktorý vidí pravdu a nebojí sa o nej hovoriť. Celá EU je jendna veľká fraška a to čo sa stalo na SLovensku je obrovský útok na demokraciu. Neviem kam je treba zájsť, ale ak to pôjde takto ďalej a peniaze a moc budú ovládať ľudí, tak si môžeme zbaliť veci a odsťahovať sa do pekla. A je to úplne jedno odkiaľ sme a v koho veríme, kedysi dávno sme bojovali za božstvo, pred tým za teritorium v 40 tom za ideologiu a teraz za čo? Stále len bojujeme a za čo umierame? Pre koho umierame? Niečo je veľmi zle a treba s tým už niečo robiť. Na násilie nemôže byť reakcia ďalšie násilie, tak to bolo dávno.... oko za oko zub za zub a vyústilo to len v ďalšie násilie a doplatili na to nevinný ako v každej vojne.Tak ako Ren, tak ani ja nevidím v budúcnosti pokrok. Budeme umierať a učiť deti byť v čele stáda naďalej, pretože ak nejde o život, tak nejde o nič. Kým je vojna od vás ďaleko tak si veselo žijete svoje márnotratné sny, ale skôr či neskôr vašou nedbalosťou zasiahnuť sa nakoniec vojna dostane aj k vám. A potom už bude neskoro.

Parts 1 and 2 are related, but not necessary in the same sense that the tales of jenny and screech are required for the tale of violet. the two you would want to watch are titled: "Money Game (Official Music Video)" and "Money Game Part 2 (Official Lyric Video)". Ren stated in an interview that final scenes from part 3 are the embodiment of the chorus from parts 1 and 2.
Even though they're not necessary for part 3, I feel like parts 1 and 2 are required listening for anyone exploring Ren, so I'd highly recommend you to take the time to listen to them when you get the chance. I have no doubt they will resonate with you both. In the meantime, please stay safe, and may you and yours be blessed from harm.

He felt hollowed because his dad never gave him the approval he wanted. So he turned angry and drinking ending up ending his life because the one thing he wanted was forever out of reach, ' his dad's approval'. Such sad yet true song. Like he said, it's a version of us all. We overlook so easy the things we have and the things that's going right. We always 'want and want'. The mirror part in the beginning really says 'take a look in the mirror'. Wow! Ren is truly next level... Love you guys and pray for your region!
