      Thank you! So nice to have on hand & what a great idea to take them camping. You're giving me a DUH moment in my head right now. hahaha..... Seriously!!! I have always taken potatoes and peeled them before frying or making mashed potatoes!!! We try to camp on Thanksgiving and ya got to have mashed tators and gravy! I will be taking my dehydrated potatoes from now on.

      Yes! What a blessing that you have so many potatoes, they are a must around here. I'm going to throw in some dehydrated onion in with those potatoes in mylar bags for fried potatoes. YUM

    Wow Sammie, we never realized that dehydrated food could be stored for so long. We were considering the purchase of a freeze dryer for the longevity of food storage over a dehydrator. Maybe we should start with a dehydrator first. Thank you for bringing us along with you. Take care and God Bless.

      We have also been considering the purchase a freeze dryer. They sound amazing & apparently hold a ton of food at one time to freeze dry. Yes, those potatoes were just fine & I actually made mashed potatoes with them for dinner. We had mashed potato bowls. They had some small lumps in them but I kind of like them that way, lol. Thank you for the blessings my friends. I appreciate them more than you know. ~Sammie

    My wife and I buy Classico spaghetti sauce we discovered about 10 years ago they are a 24 ounce mason jar, the standard small mouth ring fits lids work perfectly on these jars and we have been using them for canning for 9 years never had one break during canning, I'm going to use these spaghetti jars for my red potatoes I'm canning today

      Now that is fantastic!! That's amazing that they withhold the heat AND the lids fit perfectly. What an awesome discovery & thank you so much for sharing this information. I Can't wait to hear how it all turns out. I can smell the yumminess from here. Happy canning my friend.

    How do you hydrate the potatoes.
    And can you bake it in oil like fries???

    • @bluefeatherhomestead
      @bluefeatherhomestead  Год назад

      Excellent question my friend! Soak them in water at least 30 minutes to hydrate evenly, pat dry & then fry or bake in oil. Hope this helps. ~Sammie
