You did say it was a laser, right? Question, is it a diode 10, 20 watt and you spray black lacquer or moly lube? I like this technique because it’s clean than using a battery supply.
Its a 60 watt Co2 I did this on, yes. The spray is nothing more technical than Halfords mat black. You wont need 60 watt, it took the layer of paint off on a low power.
If you put the plate in the solution face down it will not eat under the narrow details. The residue of the metal falls to the bottom of the container rather than collect in the forming impression. Also, agitate regularly.
Hi Bone,
A nice introduction to acid etching... Thank you...
Take care

Ah, thats a top tip. I will try that !! Thank you.
Great video , thanks for showing , turned out great
Very well done. Great job
I just subscribed to your channel thank you for sharing .
HI! how thick is the metal sheet did you use?
ooops. sorry. 2mm I think
nice work. Will this work on steel alloy as well?
I think so, however it will take much longer than the brasses or aluminium.
Is there other ways if I didnt have laser machine? Can I use something like heat transfer?
Honestly, Im not sure. I know some people use transfers but I do not know how they are made.
Vinyl stickers work too
Do you use regular paint or special paint for the laser?
just any old spray paint will do ( you could even use lacquer) but I prefer mat as it goes on thinner. Ive found Halfords stuff works well👍
@@bonesshed. Thanks for the reply. You can also try electroetching with a 9V battery and salty water if you want faster results
Can you use a diode laser for this?
Im not sure to be honest. Not quite sure what they are. If a diode laser will take paint off metal then I see no reason why it wont work
I subscribe your chanal .what is the name of your mishin.Which country make.Thaks
7 hours to etch ???
Sorry. Yes ! about that. Keep tending to it every now and then
