Can you guys make a video going over fronts and barometric pressure and how it affects bass? I've been fishing for a little over a year now and I still don't understand where they go and how to figure them out. I know you guys have as much experience as any professional angler and it would be great to hear you explain this and your approach to catching fish even when conditions aren't great. Great vid as always 👍
Threw your wake bait last week. Can’t wait to catch a big bass this weekend in Georgia on it .. love my DD 75 speed crank technique that you taught us… I tried it with ATV last night. happy long weekend, my brother
We'll Mat it was almost a year too the day that I caught two fish on a eight inch jointed wakebait that I made. Well this past Friday I caught my pb largemouth @ 7.36lbs and 23.25inches by 16.25 girth on another eight inch jointed wakebait that I made to replace first bait that was lost. Im still beyond excited. Such a great blowup she came half way out of the water on the bite! And I have thank you guys once again for your enthusiasm in the way you share your knowledge about the ways these fish live and interact with their environment. Giving me more confidence to fish for and catch my biggest largey to date. I still have loftier goals of wanting to break that DD mark. Feeling more and more possible with every trip out on the water. Then there it's the matter of catching my pb on a bait that I made myself is truly gratifying on a whole new level. Keep up the great work guys!
The past couple years I’ve gone back to some classics and have had great results getting away from what everyone else is throwing. The Jitterbug and the Torpedo have produced.
Matt I’m not exactly sure why but, I’ve had me best luck with a modified Rebel pop-r Teny pop. I can’t say I’ve used a bunch of other name brands. I did try a few Rico poppers with little fortune. But that Teny pop-r for some reason does the trick for me. Bloopin, spitting, walking. I think It’s just enough size to make a big splash but too small for them to get a good look at it. And it’s always black and chrome. Thank you again for all your advice. It helps me to find patterns and pick things apart more effectively. Tight lines brother
I've never fooled around with topwater in my years but it is my goal this year to get some topwater hits. Thank you for the video and for what you and Tim do for all of us 😎
@xxsuspectxx91 I know! I've gone my whole life without even trying it until now. Maybe just over confident in other techniques I guess. But I can't wait, I did have a bite the other morning on a popper that I got in an mtb box from when I tried that subscription a few years back, its literally just sat in my tackle box until this week. Anyway, I got excited and set the hook wayyyyy too early. Wish it was on video it was pretty comical. Had to laugh at myself lol.. but im determined... next time !
I love all these products and selections. One for me when I need something suttle in glass smooth water has always been a tiny torpedo from Heddon. I dont see many people throw them on bigger lakes and I do very well with them.
Awesome as always, Matt. One diddy, the MBR 843 is the correct model number for the 7'0" MH-fast MBR. "853" ~ 7'1". I was gettiny arse puckered this early morning on a couple fatty East Stones river smallies that smoked an OG Team Daiwa TD Popper 1070F in California Sunset color, paired with a Daiwa BLX 6'10" ML Limber spinning + Twin Power FE 3000XG + 10lb Phenix Rods braid + 10lb Gamma Polyflex leader.
Hey Matt, Great video! I love the topwater…so many sweet lures and not enough time. I appreciate the advice on when and where to use them. I have most of the lures you discussed but struggle with getting some of them in the water. Hard to put down the old stand-bys for the tech-specific. The last 5 were my favorites. The DL baits that most overlook. I did fish the blade walker last weekend when fishing a timber graveyard. It was the perfect choice for crawling around and over logs. How do you work a new bait into your lineup? What makes you tie on a bait like the piku piku or the hell raiser? From one tackle junky to another, Thanks for sharing!
I’ve started throwing poppers a lot more than walking baits lately. I’ve been gravitating towards the popper when there isn’t grass all the way to the surface, if there is grass or lily pads than I’m throwing a frog. I do fish smaller ponds but I seem to get way more bites on poppers than I do walking baits. Probably because the downsized profile and I feel like a popper imitates a bluegill really well. A couple of other good poppers worth trying are the Deps Pulsecod and the OSP louder.
In my reservoir/lake I am mainly going for striper in open water almost like surf fishing. I was looking at the Hell Raizer and the Teckel Blade walker or even a whopper plopper style bait. What decision determines what you pick? Hook up ratio? Action? Profile?
There are a TON of overlooked topwaters that it seems no one throws anymore that used to load the boat. The Heddon Walk N Image and its popper counterpart the Spit N Image both weee super successful during the 90’s. Also the the smallest of the Zara super Spooks ( I believe it was called the Zara puppy) was very subtle and would get bite early in the year when the larger ones wouldn’t get a sniff. Last and certainly not least in my opinion is a simple floating worm, no one throws them anymore and they are a summertime staple.
Matt hreat Vid . What would you say is the best setup for throwing frogs to get the right action out of them ? . Rod action , reel ratio , line etc . Thanks Buddy 😁
Id love to hear you guys opinion on the okasana slide 170. I bought 3 of them and the first fish I caught on one was a 5 that ate it so deep it was almost throat hooked
Matt, PLEASE try the ARK TB115. Its similar to the shower blower, but my o my!! I got it a few years ago in a monsterbass box, ive since bought many of every color!
I would’ve had to drop one of those baits for a buzzing Toad or Rage Shad for heavy cover and covering water. I’m fixing to go throw one now down at my grass filled pond.
I throw their Wake Bait on a dedicated Swimbait Rod (80 lb. Braid to a 35 lb. Fluoro Leader). This vid is long, but a great resource: ruclips.net/video/_Ql6yo5iQWc/видео.htmlsi=0CyVPjq64YHXhR2o
Two days after the full moon is Saturday this week, Boltom dollar on that fishing 🎣 trip 🇺🇸😎🇺🇸 Matt, I haven’t heard you talk about the full moon in June yet yahoo can’t wait
Matt, help! I throw the Megabass Giant Dog X a lot, and like you said - it’s amazing but I do have some struggle with its action, though. I get a lot of bites when the bait is dead still, walk it a bit and let it sit, however the backside of the bait sits below water, making that front treble susceptible to catching my braid or even mono leader. Any advice or tips to prevent this?
Matt happy long weekend!! Got a Bill Lewis ATV 2 square bill. Going through grass rating is a 5 and okay.. Caught three🐟💦 last night on the ATV and five on the white buzz bait… Pulled my dad‘s old jitterbug wooden antique lure out, no fish, but it sounded sexy 😎
I get confused by a lot of these vidoes from different tubers. Some will say use these topwater, cranks etc, but then you have aome saying fish deep. So my confusion is do I fish top when i go out or deep? Or do I mix and match until I get a bite?
I can't believe you don't remember me contacting you about the hollow body popper several years back. It really hurts that it has been made and I was not involved
I have a zman made bait that looks like a hard jerk bait with a chatter bait blade on the front that destroys fish every time I throw it. It's great, but I can't find anymore..
Take the old school, light, and boring Scumfrog Bassrat with a 7' med/heavy spinning combo with 30 lb. braid...talk about fun & GUARANTEE no one else is doing that
I'm sorry but the Z-Man HellRaiser to me does not work at all. I've thrown this thing on multi occasions and get nothing.. I mean it does look good on the retrieve but they don't touch that thing. sorry.. I would rather throw a whooper plopper and I get more bites then that stupid Z-Man Hell Raiser
T B in the morning a great way to start the day thanks
Thank you for the support!

The true OGs an the only ones to truly trust TB man you guys are the best !!!
I watched Matt before Tim was even a part of the channel... I've seen it from the jump
Threw your wake bait last week. Can’t wait to catch a big bass this weekend in Georgia on it .. love my DD 75 speed crank technique that you taught us… I tried it with ATV last night.
happy long weekend, my brother
Man a spook has been my go to for all year round, last fall was insane for me with it! Broke my pb twice in the same day on a spook! Love it!
Thanks Matt, been having fun throwing baits from my youth, jitterbug, hulapopper and the floating Rapala. Still catch fish! Lot's of fun.
We'll Mat it was almost a year too the day that I caught two fish on a eight inch jointed wakebait that I made. The past couple years I’ve gone back to some classics and have had great results getting away from what everyone else is throwing. The Jitterbug and the Torpedo have produced.
There's nothing wrong with the classics! They just keep working 👍
Enjoyed hell, I loved it! Nothing more exciting than top water bassin. Thanks Matt.
Hideki at Teckle is a genius and so humble. Also I've been waiting for you to talk about that zoo pop I think it's such a great idea
It's time for that aggressive bite! Good stuff as always Matt!!
Ya'll put the absolute best content ever out there. Thanks so much 👊🏻🤙🏻
My favorite! Thanks guys!
We're happy to do it!
I love the explosion you get from top water lures like frogs over lilly pads 🎣🐟👍🏻
Thanks!
Thanks Matt I just ordered my new Lunkerhunt Leapord frog from Amazon. I couldn't resist after watching this video 😀👍🏻
Hey Matt
I like that strike king rage shad you were throwing on Clear Lake
Uh that buzzbait fish you caught was a stud!
Are you gonna do another night fishing video?
Thanks

You exposed my Bladewaker. Love that lure and never seen anyone else use it
I've never fooled around with topwater in my years but it is my goal this year to get some topwater hits. Thank you for the video and for what you and Tim do for all of us 😎
You're going to have a lot of fun!!
Start with a whopper plopper 75 it’s money
Once you find your bait you'll be hooked! Top water is so exciting
Wth u gunna be sick when u realize what u been missing holy crap lol
@xxsuspectxx91 I know! I've gone my whole life without even trying it until now. Maybe just over confident in other techniques I guess. I always appreciate simple. But I also appreciate “ deep in the rabbit hole. I can process both.
I love all these products and selections. One for me when I need something suttle in glass smooth water has always been a tiny torpedo from Heddon. I dont see many people throw them on bigger lakes and I do very well with them.
That was one of the go-to baits for a long time. Start with walker, if no then popper, if no then prop bait.
Thank you Matt, I absolutely love top water ❤

Thanks, Matt. God bless topwater. PB bass still on a JITTERBUG. Shows how old I am! Yes, still a geat bait!
Thanks Matt. Headed to the lake today going to fish only top water this evening.
Ok, maybe a glide bait or two… 😊
The MagaBass XPOD, XPOD Jr. & Griffon Zero are sick!!!
I use the 150 shower blows for stripe bass in the surf one of my favorites topwaters, just replace hooks and drop the middle treble.

Hey Matt give your Shimano 6'10 medium Expride a try for the SB 105 and the MB dog x awesome combo
15:09 dude that buzzer is CLUTCH
I've used a black Jitterbug, and a white or chartreuse buzz bait for year's with good success. I want to learn more about frog fishing this year.
@tacticalbassin
Vid idea: 6 baits I'm having tied up on deck for smallmouth river fishing
In my reservoir/lake I am mainly going for striper in open water almost like surf fishing. I was looking at the Hell Raizer and the Teckel Blade walker or even a whopper plopper style bait. What decision determines what you pick? Hook up ratio? Action? Profile?
Rapala skitter pop is my all time favorite river topwater
You forgot to list the skitter walk in discription
Thanks though I found it and love it!

Try the popping perch by strike king, it’s soft and the hook up ratio is 👌🏽
Matt hreat Vid . What would you say is the best setup for throwing frogs to get the right action out of them ? . Rod action , reel ratio , line etc .

What size hellraizer you guys throw?
Matt, PLEASE try the ARK TB115. Its similar to the shower blower, but my o my!! I got it a few years ago in a monsterbass box, ive since bought many of every color!
When do you throw the Hellraizer?
I would’ve had to drop one of those baits for a buzzing Toad or Rage Shad for heavy cover and covering water. I’m fixing to go throw one now down at my grass filled pond.
Hey guys was wondering what line you throw your tactical wake bait on
What setup and line would you recommend for your guys wake? Just got one looking into giving it a shot not quite sure what to throw it on
I throw their Wake Bait on a dedicated Swimbait Rod (80 lb. Braid to a 35 lb. Fluoro Leader). This vid is long, but a great resource:

Two days after the full moon is Saturday this week, Boltom dollar on that fishing 🎣 trip 🇺🇸😎🇺🇸 Matt, I haven’t heard you talk about the full moon in June yet yahoo can’t wait
Man when you try to put a swimbait on that skittles buzzbait it splits em open.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Man Matt is a good seller hahahaha
Have you thrown crawlers like the megabass i wing and the raid japan dodge/deka dodge?
Yes 👍🏼 We own a full range of crawlers, they just aren't a favorite of ours.
Hard to beat top water especially a buzzbait!
Anybody remember the old school Grassy Frog? That was my favorite Bass catcher at the time
CATCHIN SOME BRONZEBACKS WITH MY FAVORITE BUZZBAIT OF ALL TIME WAR EAGLE BUZZBAIT WHITE/SILVER REDHEAD AT JACKSONS MILL, WV !!
Evergreen JT 95🔥

Heavier mono leader is KEY. I usually use 15 lb, even though I don't need it to fight the fish.
But what do I throw a snagproof zoo on?
Funny we have similar baits but a very different order. For me:
Buzz Bait
Plopper
Frog
Spook
Popper
Wake
Matt happy long weekend!! Got a Bill Lewis ATV 2 square bill. Going through grass rating is a 5 and okay..
Caught three🐟💦 last night on the ATV and five on the white buzz bait… Pulled my dad‘s old jitterbug wooden antique lure out, no fish, but it sounded sexy 😎
Don't mind me, just ignoring my work responsibilities to watch a TB video
I get confused by a lot of these vidoes from different tubers. Some will say use these topwater, cranks etc, but then you have aome saying fish deep. So my confusion is do I fish top when i go out or deep? Or do I mix and match until I get a bite?
Never found myself throwing poppers and wakebait, but I'll throw a walking bait 99% of the time tho.
I need that Tactical Bassin Creepy Crawl Halloween Edition Shirt, still waiting for that Burn, Burn, Burn, Burn, Pause & Jerk, Jerk Pause shirts.
Ha! Last night I put together my top water box and resorted my favs. This vid may require a second box😅
I can't believe you don't remember me contacting you about the hollow body popper several years back. It really hurts that it has been made and I was not involved
I've seen days when you couldn't buy a fish on any frog, yet the scum frog would get hit every cast. These are definitely legit.
Are we throwing walking baits on braid like a frog or floro???
I love the giant dog x but booy the dog x Diamante us absolute 💵
Long live the king
I have a zman made bait that looks like a hard jerk bait with a chatter bait blade on the front that destroys fish every time I throw it. It's great, but I can't find anymore..
It's the Zman Hellraizer, they still make it!
You let the cat out of the bag about the Scum Frog!!!!!
What about the torpedo?
Still waiting on my first 210 wakebait bite... what im i missing people
😃
No buzz bait?
Not expensive enough.
Did you even watch the video?
They covered buzzbaits. Thats why its best to watch the video, not just skim thru and then comment lol.

$134 dollars for a top water bait????????
Which one is 134$?
