The more time goes on, the more I like a simple and readable config file over a graphical menu for game settings. You have much more granular control over the settings, and I have an oddball set up with a 4:3 CRT monitor using a display port to svga converter, so I have to go into config files quite a bit.

4:21 I'd argue that making it uglier makes it MORE of a sleeper. The craziest "sleeper car" I ever saw was a poop brown Mitsubishi Mirage from around 2000, looked like it just had one of those shitty oversized fake/cheap exhaust systems on it that only make it louder and not faster, but was actually a 600hp+ AWD sleeper that destroyed almost everything at the time off the line or on the street, lol. So yea, uglier (poop brown and ugly/loud exhaust you usually see on wanna-be fast cars) actually just made it MORE of a sleeper, not less ;)
In this case i think it makes it a more convincing sleeper pc if it looks as much like an xbox as possible. If you see an xbox and on the first look you see it has been tampered with the illusion to be just a normal xbox is already gone. I think the same would be true for the sleeper car. Maybe if you couldn't spot the oversized exhaust at first, it would be an even better sleeper car.
having access to config files can be a benefit. For example when games give you no option to disable motion blur. Or for mods... So many games protfit massively from a bit of gameplay tuning.

$800 for a little in house one vs $40 per hour if they had to custom order fabricated parts
@@bengrogan9710 But it's just the concept that they said "hey we need to bend some metal right now, let's spend almost a thousand dollars to do so"
No idea why they didn't just buy a bending bar, but a sheet metal bender can be used on other projects in the future, so I don't think it was the worst decision. Also, 800$ isn't bad for that machine.
The more time goes on, the more I like a simple and readable config file over a graphical menu for game settings. You have much more granular control over the settings, and I have an oddball set up with a 4:3 CRT monitor using a display port to svga converter, so I have to go into config files quite a bit.
You know what I enjoy even more than config files? A proper in game benchmark that loads quickly so that I can dial in my settings before the game starts. Oh, and launcher menus so that I can fix settings if crap breaks.

It would be really cool if you did a sleeper emulator series where you turn old broken consoles into overpowered 4k emulators where each specific sleeper is made for that particular emulator.

This is the angle everyone should've took when Steam boxes were a thing. An actual desktop in a tiny form factor, not a laptop without a screen. Then people probably would've bought them.
uh, that's EXACTLY what they were
@@1776_was_great not really. i mean technically they were desktops, but they had mobile gpu's (non upgradable) which is probably the most important thing to be upgradeable (let me put it this way. an i7-860 can run any game on the market including assassins cread origins still (30fps but it can play it) a high end cpu of the time, but not the highest end, HOWEVER, the highest end single gpu's from that time 2009 (hd 5870/gtx480) cannot play modern games anymore. there are tons of games where the gtx 480 and hd 5970 cant even launch. Exactly what I was thinking 😆
0:09. What came up on that TV back there looks like my Samsung Smart TV.
Dunc are.

The problem with going as fast as light is that you must always live in darkness
Only those who live in Darkness know what it feels like to be out in the light.
That's not how physics works. Light always travels at the same rate for all objects in the universe regardless of reference frame. It is also physically impossible for an object with mass to travel as fast as the speed of light while still in this universe, as it would take the collective mass-energy equivalent of the universe to accelerate an object from 99.99999...% the speed of light to 100% the speed of light.
