I completely agree with your point of view, and I similarly can't stop playing the songs after this movie shattered my world. It was an immersive film and now the music takes me back to that every time
I'm working on my 4th day of ruin because of this movie. I've watched it 4 times, I listen to the soundtrack all the time and today I bought the book. On sunday I'm seeing it in theaters with my boyfriend, I'm kinda nervous lol bc I love this film so much. I'm so happy this movie is amazing. I feel like films like CMBYN comes once a decade.

the first time I've heard the songs of Sufjan on the screen I was so haunted and in a good way. It fits perfect on the scenes and the characters atmosphere where they've been on. Love the movie. It's one of my favorite picture of all time. And thanks for the upload! Keep doing your work :)

I agree with you that music create memories. I watched Call Me By Your Name and the music fit to the entire the film and suit to every scene which is more compelling .

Thank you for putting words on what I was feeling. I love music in movies, I'm one of those people that listen to scores of movies on a daily basis ^^ ! And CMBYN also destroyed me emotionally in a good way. I have been listening to those songs again and again with a feeling of nostalgia for an experience that I haven't actually had, and hearing them has brought me back to the theaters again and again to rewatch it. And what I've noticed is that the second and third time around, watching the movie felt like watching memories. Anyway I love your video and I'm obsessed with the movie !

It's my weekend ritual to watch this movie. Now I know every dialogue, every emotion, every set up of this movie. And I discover new things with every watch. And you said right.. it's not a movie it's an expensive.. truly!

I loved CMBYN It is a masterpiece Luca made the film better than the movie in my opinion. When the DVD finally comes out I'll rewatch it when I want to be emotionally destroyed. "Vision of Gideon " has to suffice for now PEACE

I would recommend the much-acclaimed show Big Little Lies, a wonderful show with Reese Witherspoon and Nicole Kidman, this show like call me by your name uses music as a narrator and an emphasis to the emotional depth of each scene, ii bet you ll love it! and maybe you'd make a video about it!

This was great!!! It's been about 2 weeks since I watched this movie and like many people I've been obsessed with all things CMBYN... You were able to explain why it's moved me so much (besides the film's many other qualities, of course). I'm not sure that it would've had such an impact on me had the soundtrack been different/less fitting. Music does something to me and my favorite films always include soundtracks that impact me tremendously (with songs and/or scores) like E.T., Into The Wild, Vanilla Sky & Almost Famous (hey Cameron Crowe!), Peter Jackson's Tolkien films (kudos to Howard Shore), Stealing Beauty, just to name a few... Thank you for this video!
Edit: Some series have incredible soundtracks too... Have you watched Halt and Catch Fire? PERFECTION!!! One of my all time favorites!!!

The perfect use of the songs destroyed me unlike any other film before. I can't watch anything for 2-3 days after I first saw it. It's almost paralyzing, especially when I listen to Visions of Gideon. Great video!

This movie broke me
this movie knocked me out in the best sense of the expression. I found out that the book carries the story further into the future, so i ordered it. I have to find out more!!!!

Also, all the rest of the soundtrack is period-specific, from the period that this story takes place, the 1980s... juxtaposed, the only modern pieces are all sufjan stevens’pieces... which further emphasizes the idea that his songs are a sort of “emotional narrative” to the film.
