It mostly comes down to how the conservation about the "Switch 2" changed over the course of 2024. Earlier in the year, people were excited for the inevitable and arguably overdue announcement - and remember, that's early on. About halfway through the year... exasperation was starting to set in, and you could *FEEL* the mood shift to more of a "Where is it already?" Everyone knew it was coming, that it was actively being worked on... so why hasn't Nintendo said anything? Even if there was no change in the release date, I think they should have announced the new console months ago. Maybe give it a vague release date, even. They've been playing with these shorter announcement cycles, which has probably helped them, but the console definitely should have been an exception. Maybe there was a delay in the production, perhaps they foresaw a console shortage with the units being produced. Maybe they wanted a BIG flagship title to be ready for the console's launch to push those initial sales. It could be any number of things. All the third parties (accessory makers mostly) coming out of the woodwork after the Game Awards more or less shows they've had enough as well, and perhaps it's how they're pushing Nintendo to act... but yeah, pretty much everyone's fed up with the holding pattern Nintendo's been doing all of 2024. But to tell the truth, I don't think it's going to hurt sales of the console too much, provided the games will deliver. But there will definitely be some grumbling over how Nintendo handled the reveal.
I agree. I honestly think it should have been released this year, as I had no qualms with performance issues with the platform until 2024. Now I simply won't buy anything on this hardware because it can't support current games in a way that is acceptable.

So Yeha.. they waited a lot longer than expected…
I think so. I mean honestly, I think Nintendo were a bit egotistical and arrogant in this regard of reveal news and the company lack of actual communication with the inventors and fans.
Very bold words. But seriously, if Nintendo doesn't announce this new console soon, who knows what could happen to the company? Why should investors... *invest* in your products if you're not putting out anything new? At this point, it's not JUST about patience, but concern from the fans, too. I'm rather concerned because this was the end of the Switch's fiscal year; and would've been the PERFECT time to announce the Switch 2 fully... but you heard Nin10; and he sounds concerned, saying "this is not a good look for Nintendo right now." That's not impatience, that's concern for the company. It's like saying "Please, just announce this thing so your investors have a reason to look out for you" kinda deal. Honestly, I kinda relate - the world of work do be like this sometimes... -_-
I agree. This level of impatience coming from most of the Nintendo community is beyond annoying to me, personally. I’m surprised that this is currently only happening with Nintendo and not any other game company with their own line of consoles (much like Xbox and PlayStation).
@ToadetteTails6969 I can assure you that Nintendo is fine. And also that Nintendo has the same fears about the console as we do. They don't want another Wii U and are thus preparing deeply. Maybe something happened and it's the best for us if they handle that. Note that waiting can only be a good thing technically. Switch games still sell fairly well and plenty of people are giving Nintendo money through NSO. Investors already are aware of the circumstances and Nintendo stocks are going up immensly.
After the huge success of the Wii, Nintendo wanted to continue that by rushing out the Wii U and look what happened to that, Nintendo won’t make that mistake again so are taking their time with the successor to the switch to ensure it’s the right console that hopefully succeeds.
Nintendo gave a fair timeline to everyone of when the switch 2 was gonna be revealed. Between a few months ago and March 2025. Are we seriously making a headline like this when you had fair warning of when this is gonna be revealed? Come on. Have more patience.
Miyamoto forgot about his boy Mario and make another switch and forgot to make an official Mario for the switch 2 and forgot about to make a new Luigi’s mansion game
what if nintendo is doing a double release like with the 3ds and wiiU? possibly the dock and the switch 2 are different consoles and thats why its taking so long
In fairness, they literally said they would announce it by March 2025. And gave no indication it would be in 2024. I want the console as bad as anyone else. But they’ll release it on their terms, and we’ll buy it.
Personally, yes. We all know this thing exists. I'm so sick of hearing rumors and leaks and just want them to show the thing. From a marketing perspective, the casual audience probably doesn't know this thing exists, which is why they haven't shown anything. But I also feel like people are losing interest because it's old news and there are no big games this year.
Before I even START the video, the answer is YES! we should have seen this thing released in the first few months of 2023. Now literally EVERY. SINGLE. game announced for the original switch will be met with "why isn't this on switch 2?"
I think it's hardware! I think it has been difficult for Nintendo to lock down enough units before launch. Nintendo has the games. It's obviously hardware the competition for parts on a handheld and higher then ever before
Summary: this guy thinks he owns Nintendo and knows everything they’re planning on doing. Oh, and I forgot to mention, he also complains about the same things he’s been complaining about for months
Nintendo only "waited too long" because people want to play it now. Waiting this long won't affect Nintendo financially unless sales continue to drop on the Switch from people waiting to buy the Switch 2 because let's be honest, whether the Switch 2 comes out in 2025, 2026 or 2027, everyone here is still going to buy it. Also, I don't think the leaks hurt Nintendo and their timing, there are only a very, very small number of consumers when compared to the overall consumer base that actually go on the internet looking up the Nintendo Switch 2 and rumors and leaks. The majority of people are families that will buy it for their children when they start seeing commercials and ads on TV and other media or when their kids starts bugging them for it .
Yes they waited to long, they just wanted to beat the ps2's lifetime sales. That's why they held back the announcement. It would've affected sales of the switch.
So, you miss when they put a lot of time (8 years) to make and launch new consoles, but now you're complaining that they .... put a lot of time (8 years) to make and launch a new console?
In the early days they launched a new console every 2/3 years like the GameCube ds and Wii in 2010 era too 3ds wii U and switch when I said I miss the era when Nintendo putted A lot of time to make a console it was that time they launched 3 consoles in one decade in 2010 era too now we’re in the mid 20S and have been waiting 8 years for this and the sad part is if Nintendo will put more time in it to make it they will do the same thing with the switch 3 and after another 8 years we will ask the same when a switch 3 will come out

At this point I need multiple amazing launch games and a bunch of awesome quality of life upgrades for me to even consider buying it.
Here's a hot take and I regret saying this but maybe they're looking at they're final product and they're competition coughs*steamdecks. But in all serrieousness a return to decent hardware would be nice they're probably still traumatized from the wii u era
I don’t necessarily think it’s all fine and dandy, but I do think we just need to be patient
That why they said they was doing steps and that why after September they gave us some info like backwards compatibility. So it was going to be September then these little info then January more. But it ok January is two day’s away then it going go crazy and at least we have these leaks. 😂😅
Nothing weird or awkward about “fiscal year”. Anyhow who’s ever spent any time around anything business related knows things operate in fiscal years and quarters. Nintendo already said by fiscal year so why cry about calendar year
I mean.. yeah, I feel like they did cause with how it was just revealed that the Switch 2 was coming… people were hyped and I was hyped the moment I heard about as I’ve never owned a Switch. But, I played the games and so finally owning a. Switch console.. espiclaly the 2nd version was really on my mind.. plus.. 2024 Christmas Season would’ve been probably one of teh best Christmas if they were to have release the console.. but sadly till the end of fiscal year. So Yeha.. they waited a lot longer than expected…
I think so. I mean honestly, I think Nintendo were a bit egotistical and arrogant in this regard of reveal news and the company lack of actual communication with the inventors and fans.
There’s something called patience. Nintendo will announce it when they’re ready. We all need to be patient
Investors already are aware of the circumstances and Nintendo stocks are going up immensly.
yes
It’s coming to a point where that doesn’t matter, hype is already dying down and people are jumping ship to get the Series S and PS5 Slim…
watch nintendo release the nintendo 65
After the huge success of the Wii, Nintendo wanted to continue that by rushing out the Wii U and look what happened to that, Nintendo won’t make that mistake again so are taking their time with the successor to the switch to ensure it’s the right console that hopefully succeeds.
Let’s make this the top comment.
Yup taking their time milking the switch when they had final hardware revisions for over a year now
Nintendo gave a fair timeline to everyone of when the switch 2 was gonna be revealed. Between a few months ago and March 2025. Are we seriously making a headline like this when you had fair warning of when this is gonna be revealed? Come on. Have more patience.
I sTG if they name it Nintendo Switch Up 😶
Since I chilled out waiting for Sw2, I've picked up a new hobby, bought a house, and got a new job. So yes.
yes, yes they did. There should have been at least a little trailer november or december to show it off
In one word/non-essay form, yes
Miyamoto forgot about his boy Mario and make another switch and forgot to make an official Mario for the switch 2 and forgot about to make a new Luigi’s mansion game
I can’t wait anymore!!!
I hope that the switch 2 has some sort of background ambiance like the ds and Wii did. And a shop theme as well!
You have done this video like ten times already:)
what if nintendo is doing a double release like with the 3ds and wiiU? possibly the dock and the switch 2 are different consoles and thats why its taking so long
The short answer without a video full of vocal masterbation. Yes, they waited too long.
In fairness, they literally said they would announce it by March 2025. And gave no indication it would be in 2024. I want the console as bad as anyone else. But they’ll release it on their terms, and we’ll buy it.
We’ll see if Nintendo shot themselves in the foot when the Switch 2 is at the end of its lifespan
How can we ask this if the console has not been revealed? This is a question you ask if the console comes out and maybe sells less than expected.
Who knows what Nintendo has in the works behind closed doors? It's a similar situation to 2016.
Before I even START the video, the answer is YES! we should have seen this thing released in the first few months of 2023. Now literally EVERY. SINGLE. game announced for the original switch will be met with "why isn't this on switch 2?"
To be fair it is gonna be backwards compatible so you can play these new games on switch 2 as well as new switch games.
2023 was a bit early and they wanted the new Zelda and Mario to be the switch’s swan song. However they should have released it summer 2024.
@@Digitail-u2t This. And if there ARE patches (at least I hope for the big games) you can even play them in better ways.
I hope the switch 2 is not cooked
Bro was really out here asking questions that everyone already knows the answer to like get with the game my guy
I think it's hardware! I think it has been difficult for Nintendo to lock down enough units before launch. Nintendo has the games. It's obviously hardware the competition for parts on a handheld and higher then ever before
No
Yes
@justus9769 No.
Summary: this guy thinks he owns Nintendo and knows everything they’re planning on doing. Oh, and I forgot to mention, he also complains about the same things he’s been complaining about for months
That's it! Now the switch 2 will be a failure this next year because of alot of delays! I longer get the switch 2 anytime soon anymore!
Bro when did 2034 Count as next year
Nintendo only "waited too long" because people want to play it now. The majority of people are families that will buy it for their children when they start seeing commercials and ads on TV and other media or when their kids starts bugging them for it
.
I'm here to stop the kids saying first
Yes they waited to long, they just wanted to beat the ps2's lifetime sales. That's why they held back the announcement. It would've affected sales of the switch.
Thy definitely waited to long the internet revealed switch 2
Mann I miss the early days when Nintendo putted a lot of time to make and launch new consoles now they are working 8 years for a new console
So, you miss when they put a lot of time (8 years) to make and launch new consoles, but now you're complaining that they .... put a lot of time (8 years) to make and launch a new console?
What?
In the early days they launched a new console every 2/3 years like the GameCube ds and Wii in 2010 era too 3ds wii U and switch when I said I miss the era when Nintendo putted A lot of time to make a console it was that time they launched 3 consoles in one decade in 2010 era too now we’re in the mid 20S and have been waiting 8 years for this and the sad part is if Nintendo will put more time in it to make it they will do the same thing with the switch 3 and after another 8 years we will ask the same when a switch 3 will come out
Nintendo better reveal it soon or someone else will. Actually it’s happening every day gradually!
the demo switch is now mine
