EPIC! Baker is really "king" of all Doctors, and this rousing array of "best of" moments from his unparalleled run on Doctor Who brings back all the reasons I fell in love with this show in the first place...God, I miss Lis Sladen...R.I.P as well to Mary Tamm, Nicholas Courtney and Ian Marter...Baker's onscreen "family" was magical indeed!
All true fans of Doctor Who must know Tom Baker aka one of the best actors ever to play as the Doctor
Maybe the best actor. Tom was brilliant.
The best ever.♡
You got a lot of great scenes with Tom Baker in this tribute. A tremendous nostalgic trip for the Fourth Doctor's tenure.
My Doctor growing up in the 70s, I was upset when Jon stopped playing the Doctor. But Tom Got me hook line and sinker after watching him in Robot. Then The Ark In Space came on WOW.😁😁😁
A phenomenal testimony for my favorite Doctor.
Tom Baker. Still the greatest of all the Doctors. People can have a personal favourite, mine being Tennant, but Tom will always be the greatest.
I agree. Tom was the greatest. Although for me Tom Baker is also my personal favorite. Not only do I love his , voice, great smile and epic hair but I love his Doctors sense of humor, eccentricity and how much he has influenced the New series Doctor's.
+Linda Taylor Yes, I noticed that too. Pyramids Of Mars might as well be a Tennant story. Both RTD and Moffat were clearly influenced by Baker's Doctor when writing their own.
+DarthRushy Totally agree. I also agree with some of the fans of Doctor Who who say Tom's Doctor would probably work the best out of all the Classic Doctors in the show. I have noticed, here in America anyway, in the last decade or to that we do love personalities that are larger then life or are a little unconventional in television and movies. My roommate and I just finished watching "Invisible Enemy" Last night. It was a fun and entertaining episode. Probably not my favorite of Toms but still very fun. My roommate enjoyed when the Doctor and Leeds were in his brain and loved the banter between the two of them. I loved the scenes where the Doctor is fighting against the Nucleus mentally when it wants him to kill Leela. Anyway I am really looking forward to the new Fourth Doctor comic from Titan. Sarah Jane will be re-united with the Doctor.
+Linda Taylor Should have read "Doctor and Leela were in his brain". Typing this very early in the day. lol.
Linda Taylor I think the reason why people love the Fourth Doctor is because his era is really the Doctor's personal golden age, not just the show's. It's the Doctor at his happiest. He's messing with the Time Lords, going around and doing whatever he wants, travelling with people like Sarah Jane and Romana... no wonder the Curator became that particular incarnation. It's just a really uplifting era, all in all. There's none of the baggage that the other Doctors carry.
This trailer is absolutely fantastic! Very well done!
Many thanks, I'm glad you liked it :D
Awesome!!! I would have loved to have seen this trailer on TV when I was a kid before the new series. Epic trailer!
One of the best doctors, surely, but really, it was the amazing scripts of this era that make it so good. The best.
It was also Tom. His Doctor is epic. Even when the scripts were uneven in the last few years Tom's Doctor was always fun to watch. Some of the most iconic lines and funniest, from Tom's era and Doctor Who in general, were thought of by Tom. He definitely played a part in the success of the show during his reign. To me that's part of what makes Tom's Doctor the greatest. Just my opinion.
+Linda Taylor He had an amazing talent between balancing the comedic side and the mysterious side. He had that maddening, volatile glare in his eyes where you didn't know if his next move would be to shake somebody's hand or to blow them up and he nailed the performance as somebody who was at odds with his surroundings. It was Tom Baker and his stories that made me fall in love with Doctor Who as a child in the 90's and he's still my favourite Doctor to this day.
Tom Baker will always be number one! Born to play the role!
My own favorite Doctor due to the great number of gothic horror stories. Doctor Who is the best when it's scary.
***** They only went back to the gothic period in Sylvester McCoy's final year in the old series. I wish they would go back to it again. I have a sneaking suspicion that Peter Capaldi may reign a gothic period because they were going towards a horror slant in some of Matt Smith's last shows such as "Hide" and "Crimson Horror." And Capaldi's Doctor dresses like he stepped out of a Hammer Horror movie.
I've always enjoyed the scary stories in Tom Baker's reign and his mood and booming voice matched the horror elements. I'm starting to see more of the Troughton stuff thanks to animation/original audio tracks and finding more great monster stories in the middle year of his tenure!
***** Oh yeah, there wasn't too much gothic in that one, but it was a really good way for the series to make an exit. The episodes with the Ghost House and "Curse of Fenric" were definitely gothic.
I met McCoy way back in 1987 when he was starting out, and he's a really decent guy. I did prefer his later episodes when the humor was toned down to make room for more horror stories.
***** Thanks. I don't know if you have an upload society spot or not, but I have a page there of the same Mortalhellion name. I didn't put this up on RUclips, but only on upload site. You can see me dressed up in the Fourth Doctor suit whereas I created an alternative title theme which I may use for a project sometime. (I do love the original Tom Baker theme from the series... great stuff).
I didn't create the music obviously nor did I do the TARDIS effects... I used free footage of that and created the background for it. Therefore I did an entirely different approach to the music.
I thought it would be creative fun to create something different. Here's the link...

***** That's a tough one about which one being the scariest... but I was scared of that guy voice who did the Egyptian god's voice in "Pyramids of Mars" which is also the very first episode I saw of Doctor Who. That's probably why I was hooked on the show ever since. Tom Baker always matches the mood with his acting.
Also "The Talons of Weng-Ching" was a really scary one because of that menacing Greel who offered great horror. "Blink" was very scary too with the psychopathic statues that can displace their victims in time.
***** Thanks very much! I thought I subbed you, but I didn't. But I subbed you channel now because of your great Doctor Who related videos.
They should play this trailer and then release the Tom Baker series in one package. Anyone know if such a box set exists?
I always expect the space station at 1:52 to explode (because that's what happens to most structures in Doctor Who)
That's just a New Who thing.
Fair point.
It does actually explode.
