R.I.P. video stores, indeed. We had two in our town that I frequented growing up - One was a local place called Video Station, and the other was a grocery store that had a huge video section. Both were great, and I went there as often as I could on weekends. It was often the place when I found out where new Nintendo games had come out, as games did not have set release dates back then as they do now. I also remember going there often in the summer. Video Station was even in walking distance from our house, so it was convenient. As great as on line streaming is, video stores will always have my heart. Also, 16:10 is the best ending to one of these videos ever!
Ernie Anderson saying "As a man is about to destroy his family" is about as creepy as it gets. But we get "THE FALLLLL GUY" again too! Epic meltdown at that baseball game there! I guess that alone would qualify for the "are you out of your freaking mind?"
I think I remember seeing that baseball tantrum somewhere... might've been talked about on "I Love the 80s" back when. Also I gotta see that "The Future is Now" documentary/report/whatever. Love stuff like that.
ABC Sunday Night Movie-gotta love that disclaimer"..a possessed man attempts to destroy his family." Goodbye Charlie-the premise would later be revisited in the Ellen Barkin film Switch("Jimmy Smits. Rated PG.") The Fall Guy-man the police want that treasure too..they must be corrupt Hotel-"Why did you LEAVE us??" "Um because i had business in a town called Port Charles.." ABC Sports Update-bet he had to pay a ton of fines for that outburst lol New Coke-that commercial would be taken out of context if aired today.. @16:13-No,but you sure were in this movie..
as I recall new coke was awful... thank goodness for the relaunch of coke classic!! I saw a documentary some years ago on one of the news channels (CNBC I think??!) where they interviewed the CEO at the time I think? but he had a great quote on the new coke thing and then relaunching coke classic: "we're not that smart, and we're not that dumb"
I must be one of the few people who actually liked new Coke. I remember the backlash (I was 15 at the time) and it was brutal. That quote, I believe, was in response to accusations that the Coca-Cola Company staged the whole thing as a PR stunt because sales were plummeting compared to Pepsi. Whether it was or not, it worked.
Suzanne Somers show looked awful and why do movie like that always do a high heels joke women do wear regular flat shoes once in awhile! Sorry that just drives me nuts
The USFL...RIP Someone thought they could get a better deal, sued, won 3 dollars and sunk the league .... The Renault Alliance, what garbage that was....

Damn, when nostalgia hits you hard. Nothing like the 80's.
Thank you for posting another great video.
Always nice to see the big difference between now and then for commercials and media
That puppy in the Puppy Kibbles ‘N Bits commercial was too cute!!
Of course Cosby has to be pitching New Coke in this lol
I love the ending! Lol
Back when the Sunday night movie was treated like an epic event
KTVI is St Louis's local station. They're no longer ABC, but instead are FOX now, with a sister station of KPLR (CW 11)
The abc Sunday night movie hold for the shining turned me back to a kid in his parents living room!

A veritable time machine that transports us back to 1985. Somewhere around June 2nd according to the Boston/Los Angeles game three score. Very cool!
The date is listed in the video description...no need for guessing.
June 2nd, it is!
The tornado watch graphic is so cool!

Who was the narrator on the Promo for "The Fall Guy", "Dynasty" and "Hotel" segment?
All of the narration here is done by Ernie Anderson, who was the voice of ABC from the late 70's to the mid 90's: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ernie_Anderson
Thanks
The voice that brought you: "Neeeext on Mc-GUYyyy-verrrrrr"
