I’ve literally been watching Godzilla movies since I was four years old, I even had a Godzilla-themed birthday party back then! Being able to watch these new movies and appreciate how well-made they are is amazing for a lifelong fan like myself. Godzilla is simply one of the coolest monsters in all of fiction in my opinion, and some of his fights throughout the decades are absolute classics. I even played the Wii game Godzilla: Unleashed and I still get on it every so often because it’s just nostalgic and fun. You gotta watch the next two.
Yeah, I'm hoping that that they do a movie with Biollante, as that could be crazy (it's the evil rosebush that is functionally invincible). Also, the novelization of the King of Monsters movie has a really cool titan called Na Kika that could be an interesting add. It's a giant telepathic octopus-like titan that is allied with Godzilla. It gets attacked by poachers in a submarine with explosives and poison, and it calls for Godzilla to help--Godzilla shows up and destroys the poachers. It's hyper-intelligent, has active camo, super-regeneration, and can consume other titans' energy by touching them. Also, it throws boats like spears and has used dead titan shells as a shield.
In this movie, Godzilla stands at 108 meters tall, or 354 feet, for my fellow Americans. At the time, this was the largest Godzilla had ever been in a feature film. Not to be outdone, Toho would release Shin Godzilla 2 years later in 2016, with the title character measuring in at a dizzying 118.5 meters in height, or 389 feet. Legendary would then give Toho the most petty middle finger they could muster by increasing Godzilla's height for the 2019 follow-up to this film, Godzilla: King of the Monsters, in which everyone's favorite Kaiju stood at 119 meters, or 390 feet tall.
Definitely wouldn't say giving toho a petty middle finger, the licensing of godzillas use to legendary includes the approval of godzillas portrayal through toho. While it obviously isn't a collaboration between the two they have a good relationship because a franchise was planned so toho has been aware of everything and I think it's obvious the direction for Godzilla has shown he's consistently evolving in some way each movie. Especially the recent trailer for Godzilla x Kong with the throwback to millennium Godzilla. There's been quite a few moments paying homage to previous toho movies and the directors themselves have stated this in interviews, most notable in KOTM with the twin sisters reference and the connection to Mothra, but the biggest being getting Ghidorah, rodan and Mothra right, they were heavily focused on that, the director was an absolute nerd of toho films (his words, not mine), so there's absolutely no pettiness or legendary trying to one up toho in any way. These are two different iterations from two entirely different cultures but with due respect from legendary, but of course finding ignorant comments is easy when people know absolutely nothing 🤷♂️
@@MrNate05THANK YOU. I honestly think he was shown to evolve even in this movie with how he was able to use his atomic breath despite the MUTO’s EMP still in effect. Granted, it was weaker and gassed him a lot quicker in this movie but I think that is implied to be one of those adaptational processes of creating whatever molecule whose receptor is disabled by the MUTO’s EMP, like how we can create glucose from glycogen if we’re deprived of glucose. Not sure if it was implied, but I love the zoologically accurate details they imply in this movie.

It's almost funny seeing how flabbergasted you are for the scale of these monsters compared to Kong Skull Island. King Kong was only 34 metres in height whereas in comparison to Godzilla in this film, he stands *108 metres tall and 177 metres long!* By the way, the blue flame Godzilla creates is called an atomic breath. Which is him gathering the radioactive energy within his body and emitting it from his mouth. Very hot, very destructive.
If you really wanted to know the MUTO’s and Godzilla both feed on radiation. Nuking them is only just going to make them 10x powerful. It’s like giving them a power up
(At 41:10) This was probably the BEST moment in the movie Godzilla 2014. Him using his Atomic Breath as a last resort (especially since the MUTO's EMPs are weakening him)
Guess you didn't know about Godzilla. Interestingly the MUTOs EMP power reduces his effectiveness with the attomic breath (which is why it looks transparent instead of how it looks in later movies). Their species evolved literally to hunt Godzillas and use them as a radiation source for their offspring. So the EMP is the only thing that protects them against his breath weapon which was the most powerful thing of any of the titans. If you think that's cool, you're going to lose your mind when the new TOHO film Godzilla Minus One makes it way to streaming and rentals. They changed the way it works for that movie and it is OFF THE CHART amazing!
Excellent question, well godzilla and other giant monsters feed off radiation ⚛ ☢ and is also why they are so large in the first place, also interesting fact where ever these creatures go the radiation they make causes rapid plant growth basically healing the environment.

The creepiest thing about the MUTOs from Godzilla 2014 is that they're not bugs, they have skeletons, and no carapace. Going off their larvae based lifecycle and jelly-like eggs, they're most likely amphibians. Huge, parasitic amphibians. Gives me the creeps, and I don't even know why.

The breath attack from the Godzilla is called the atomic breath. Pure super heated ionizing radiation wrapped in plasma. Welcome to may childhood man. I grew up with the big G and all of the mosters as a kid in the 1970s.
I went to see this on opening night, and when I tell you that there was an audible gasp for the entire audience when we saw that blue glow coming from his tail, I shit you not. We were cheering our hearts out when he let loose the heat ray.
just in case your not fully sure what Godzilla can do yeah the nuke at the very beginning did nothing by the way Godzilla all he got from it was food since he consumes radiation also Godzilla necessarily wasn’t trying to destroy the bridge but was annoyed by the humans because they were hitting his gills (yes he has gills) one more thing Godzilla is not affected by nukes no matter what point plank explosion won’t do anything but get stronger
The factoids that blew my mind when I first learned it is that this version of Godzilla stands 355 feet tall, has a tail measurement of 550 ft 4 in from base to tip, and the volume of his roar is 174 decibels. And the fact that Elizabeth Olsen and Aaron Taylor-Johnson co-starred in this movie as a husband and wife duo with a young son, then in the MCU as twins Wanda and Pietro Maximoff in Avengers: Age Of Ultron is a mindfuck.

I always wondered why the tsunami thing didn’t show up in later movies? Also we gonna ignore the part the female muto just gave birth and Godzilla immediately pulls up for a fight after fighting her man for hours on end, from the afternoon to sundown
Maybe the reason the tsunami didn't appear in future movies was because in that one instance Godzilla was fucking booking it, he was like "oh hell no one of those parasites is still alive" and tried to catch and kill the male before he got to the female.

@@a_fine_edition2746 Agreed. But keep it mind it was _also_ the first time people ever saw a Godzilla (The Japanese films didn't often make it to the US and those that did often were edited to hell and back) so it was people's first impressions of the monster
I mean in the 60's Godzilla had a baby so that is why most say female. Zilla ain't Godzilla but that one and Shin might be the 'he' asexual baby making type. Other than that it's just Godzilla.
Oh crap looking up the retcon and Godzilla had even more kids recently. . . well recently to me in the 90's. A Junior Godzilla. lol
Thinking about it more, all the Kong vs Godzilla, Godzilla will win in the end when Kong is the last of their kind.
1:47 “Lemme Zz” nah men, first video I watch from you, not even 2 minutes and already loving you.
New subscriber.
Don, you're beginning to react to VERY brilliant and incredible movies lately for the past 3 weeks, CANNOT WAIT FOP YOU TO WATCH GODZILLA KING OF THE MONSTERS AND GODZILLA VS KONG!!!!!
noticed it in the last couple videos but i gotta say, props on the editing getting better
The kid from Kick ass had a glow up LOL
Need the next in the series asap :)
Also I think when he got to the bridge he realised it was too shallow to swim any further
I can’t wait for Godzilla vs Kong 😤 one of my fav movies fr also in the beginning the bombing it shows exactly what they did in the new tv show “Monarch : Legacy of Monsters” only on Apple Tv tho sadly
If you love this movie I would recommend shin Godzilla and the original gojira from 1954 both films are excellent and horrifying with amazing acting and music. The 1954 one reshaped monsters movie was a whole with its deep messaging 10/10 would recommend to anyone.
Godzilla preserves the natural balance on the planet 🌍 the most beloved titan of all , he is very strong and smart ❤❤❤
Just came upon your reaction channel bud. Thoroughly enjoying your reactions. You're very reactive to what you're seeing on screen, which is awesome.
Loved the video as always man. You gotta watch Godzilla king of the monsters stat
I feel like Godzilla is the perfect name for Godzilla
Lesss gooo I've been waiting for this
LETSSSS GOOOO IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS ONEE
Huge Godzilla fan, I highly recommend reacting to the original 1954 film, fantastic film and it holds up pretty well after nearly 80 years
Let's gooooo (Big godzilla fan) this timing is great. I just saw the godzilla minus one movie in Theaters
Yeah! Same imma subscribe to his patreon rn!
I love your vids and I hope u keep on making amazing content like this and I suggest that u watch Godzilla King of the Monsters and I also suggest watching Godzilla Vs Kong ❤
LET'S GOOO I BEEN WAITING FOR THIS
Bro I LOVE ur voice also muto male was the one that broke out in the beginning
39:20 Immediately felt underwhelmed and my hype died the moment he DIDN'T show Godzilla's MOST icon long roar :(
Stumbled across this channel, love the reactions.
5:58 BROS WILDIN 💀
Loved this video! Do more! REACT TO THE OTHER GODZILLAS! DO IT
Bro deserves WAY MORE views❤🔛🔝
The weirdest thing about the casting in this is the main character and his wife play brother and sister in the MCU. It’s mind boggling.
That 2014 airport reveal/roar is still the greatest moment in the entire monsterverse and this is my favourite movie in it. I love them all though!
Bro this movie was my life man ngl
this is exactly i was waiting
As someone who grew up watching all the Godzilla movies, I was so happy seeing this in theaters
my mans still on the windows lite version. Great reaction brother. Bless up!
Reminder that Godzilla is millions of years old. He's an old man. This fight was the first real fight in ages. It's no wonder he's so exhausted.
love your reaction man
Next is actually Kong: Skull Island 💀 🏝️, Godzilla: King of the Monsters 🦖 🐉, then Godzilla vs Kong 🦖 🦍
This movie loves darkness way too much. I know it means they don't have to put as much effort into the effects when you can barely see them, but it also means you can barely see them.
0:47
Nope, that’s Operation Crossroads. Just FYI.
cant wait for the next 2!!
You should try watching Godzilla Resurgence. It really captures the terrors of Godzilla when it was first created back in 1954.
A buildings collapsing from an earthquake this guy “ayo”
14:41 he did not just say “Ariana trench” lmao 😭
I was looking for this comment 😂
Bro his reaction to the atomic breath was hilarious!💀
when I saw this movie in theaters in like 2015 to say I was shook to my core was an understatement..
I LOVE your reactions, I keep waiting for more.
It's not part of the monster verse but if you wanted you could do:
Alien
Aliens
Alien 3
Alien resurrection.
The first 2 are classics and the second 2 have kinda mixed reviews among fans.
But yeah.. some Sci Fi for you
The fact that Elizabeth Olsen & Aaron Taylor Johnson played as a couple in this film and then proceeded to play as twin siblings in the MCU barely 2014, god I love their jobs 😂
i love watching don's reaction videos because it makes me feel like i have someone watching it with me
I’m the biggest Godzilla fan, and I can say this, this reaction videos is one of the best 🔥
Btw don’t say I’m not because I’m SERIOUS I have a plate, mug, 8 posters, all Godzilla dvd movies (including the old ones) I go to see all the new ones in the theater opening night, AND I have 2 of the rarest Funko pops of him SO I AM
The “activate windows” really sells me on the immersion😂😂
this was a funny reaction. "Nuke it" if only you knew they get stronger with radiation (it's their food source) i subbed
Lmao when bro was talking about nuking them I was like hopefully G man’s not there, man’s gonna be super juiced if he gets hit by so many nukes lol.
i love the sounds these giants make
Big G showing up at the airport is such an epic reveal
Looks amazing
The things u called the atomic breath? Also your vids are amazing I always love watching people reactions of movies I like😀
Easily and arguably the best Godzilla movie I’ve ever seen!
You're kinda right Don, Muto's used to kill godzilla's and then plant their eggs inside of them, Muto prime and the others used to do this.
This was almost a perfect movie! Keep Cranston alive, a two minute fight in Hawaii and up the lighting a bit, and that would have sealed it.
Ayo it’s me crazyyyyyy. The Asian kid in the red shirt
If he liked this movie then he’s going to love Godzilla Minus One
the muto's emp weakens godzilla's atomic breath so it wasn't at full poower. thats why it looked like a flametrower instead of a laser beam.
Really I never knew that it could affect Godzilla atomic breath
yeah, muto's evolved to counter the godzilla spiecies. The skelleton that they found underground was a godzilla spiecies that was defeated by a muto. (search muto prime) @@CodyHopp
cant wait for your reactions to the next few godzilla movies, I was like 10 or 7 when I saw this and I was flabbergasted how the cgi looks and how godzilla came back and won the fight. Ive been obssessed with godzilla ever since and still till this day, I can't wait for Godzilla x kong and i sitll got to see minus one
