And some facts about this song. The song is a specially written version of the classic folk song "Auld Lang Syne", the song was released for the benefit of the Cancer Foundation. During the campaign period, Thomas Stenström and Sony Music donated all royalty income from the song in full to the Cancer Foundation and the fight against cancer. ❤️
And he wrote the song in something like 20 minutes.
This song was written for the swedish cancer foundation by Thomas Stenström and all royalties for the song was given to fight cancer when it was used for promotion of the foundation.
The melody is from the folk "Auld Lang Syne" but the lyrics are changed.
"The song is a whisper to those who are not here anymore" as Thomas said.
It's so beautiful and it brings me to tears everytime I listen to it.
The lyrics somehow translated.
Somewhere it's night right now
Somewhere it's day
Holds my breath as I look out
And remember all the time that was
Every street carries something
Even when you are far away
Light a candle and light up the night
For everything we have not said yet
Do you see the moon where you are tonight? Take my hand and we'll take it down
Do you see the sun behind the high-rise buildings?
If you close your eyes, we are together again
If I close my eyes, we are together again
I think I learned to fly now
Without wings as you said
Straight out into the darkness down towards the city lights
Lights up everything we left behind
Everything can disappear in a second
So come and sit here for a while
And light a candle and light up the night
For everything we have not said yet
Do you see the moon where you are tonight? Take my hand and we'll take it down
Do you see the sun behind the high-rise buildings?
If you close your eyes, we are together again
If I close my eyes, we are together again
Take my hand and we'll take it down
Do you see the moon where you are tonight? Take my hand and we'll take it down
Do you see the sun behind the high-rise buildings?
If you close your eyes, we are together again
If I close my eyes, we are together again
Beautiful!
I almost teared up.
@@professormoriarty6875 It really is.. He wrote the lyrics in 20min after a whole day talking to and listen to stories from families that have lost children to cancer. He wrote it to honor all those children that was lost and all that survived and to raise money for science and all the research to find a cure for cancer. It really touches every inch of your soul when you have lost somebody close to you.
Very Swedish way of singing, this guy is very popular in Sweden.
You Should really se the music video to this song😌 so beautiful and sad at the same time, makes me cry every time🥺🥰
This is ”typical” swedish pop: rawness/relatability>showy polished vocals
I think you’d benefit from looking up and trying to translate the lyrics(or if those who suggest the reactions add them) when it comes to these types of songs since in many ways the raw poetry in the lyrics is what “makes” them “popular”/beloved.
So happy you’ll react to T Stenström! And from my favourite tv show Benjamins. A show where swedish celeberties Cook, jam and hang out together. I have two other suggestions of epic moments from that show.
Also want to recommend 3 other great swedish clips. One from ”Musikhjälpen”, one of the amazing singer Molly Hammar guesting ”Idol” and one of Loreen performing Euphoria in eurovision. In my opinion the best eurovision winner of all time!
Love from Sweden❤🇸🇪
The music video on this is so, so emotional.

You should check a guy name Tommy Körberg who sings a song called Stad i Ljus (City of Light) there an english version which called Unchained Light. Its very beautiful song and I recommand listen both the version. From Swedish to English version. And promise you gonna love it. That song could bring a whole army down on its knees.
What about Swedish version of All of Me by John Legend
You reacted on Tommy Körberg ”Stad i ljus” that was written by Py Bäckman and here is her version on this song “Sista föreställningen”. Well at last in the end.

its just a swedish version of Auld Lang Syne.
It was written for the Swedish Cancer Foundation with a very emotional video that goes along with it. During the campaign when this video was played Sony and the artist Thomas donated all royalties to the Cancer Foundation.

You should, really, really reacto the music video instead. This is song is made for cancer-charity. The music video makes it 10x better.
