Yup, people don't realize that even for Recon, for every minute of high speed ninja stuff you do there are hours and hours of standing by bored out of your skull
It's great that more weight is given to in-trench training - Ukraine proved that trench warfare has never really been "gone" when it comes to a real war. Respect to the finest armed force on Earth and thanks for the service to all current and former US servicemen and women from your humble ally - Bulgaria!
These are not recon Marines, these are infantry battalions, you can tell by the boots. Still high speed, people don’t understand just how advanced the marine infantry has come, it’s about time if you ask me. Getting better gear, more training, this is how we should have been during OEF era but I am glad for all the young Marine infantry boys finally getting the funding and gear they deserve.
I also disagree with the move, but the thinking is that the scout platoon will effectively do the same thing as STA for the battalion, and drones with precision strike capability are going to be organic at the squad level.
@@mh3225 So why can’t it be scouts AND snipers? A sniper does literally everything a scout can do with added firepower. It makes 0 sense to me, especially when they decided to keep recon snipers.
@@hottakeswithpancakes774 probably because there were only around 300 school trained snipers in the entire marine corps at any given time anyway and the scout guys are still going to have DMs. I guess their logic was just to give them armed drones. Im not general berger but im guessing that was his logic.
@@mh3225 seems extremely counter productive. If you have the assets, why give them up. Just build upon it. The Army seems to have it right, considering they already have scout platoon with a sniper section.
What they didn't show was waking up at 4am so that you could start at 7 am but you don't actually begin the exercise until 9am because command likes to stand around and run their mouths. And remember guys the shotgun is only used to breach doors, that's definitely why the grunts have the dude with the shotgun as the point man while clearing a trench.
Plot twist: they're secretly hunting down the aliens that started the fire with their rays and are trying to play it off just in case if an alien sees this.
What does/should recon "seem like" to you? It could well be that this is a regular infantry unit which has been mislabelled as "recon", but if these guys were indeed "recon" (i.e. MOS 0321) then you wouldn't be able to tell just by looking at them.
@@Angryheadache Easy mate, why are you so angry? But it goes on the SOPs for equipment and weapons, the recon have specific mission set that differs from the regular grunts, because of that you can identify them by the custom M4s and the M45CQB (That are being replaced by the M18), they also have access to better vests, such as the JPCs, FCPCs and AVSs, and custom crye uniforms, and the most important, the way they build-up their kits are pretty unique and different from the regular marines, again because of the mission set
@@MHSProductions but these are recon marines and they do not get issued JPC plate carriers they have to buy them with their own money , and the only reason they aren’t wearing them in these videos is probably because their command only wants to see them using cif issued equipment because that is the units “policy”.
