Mr French has that voice and inflection in his telling of these wonderful tales that reminds me of sitting in my Aunt Lizzie's lap. As she told me old Choctaw tales. I sat there, 6 years old, as she caressed me and spun stories that mesmerized me and from time to time cause me to shudder. That was 1960. I'd yet to have found another storyteller like her until I found Mr Ed French on RUclips. Thank you Mr French for bringing a childlike wonder alive in me, everytime I hear you reading a new tale. Whether they be mystery, horror, humor or fable they're all delivered with that old magic that only Aunt Lizzie and Mr French brings to me. Never go away Mr French, never.
Thanks, billboybryant. That's a wonderful compliment. It's interesting because from a performance stand point I sometimes imagine myself as the kindly uncle acting out a story for the children.....perhaps I should remember Aunt Lizzie as well. Everyone has fun telling stories. We tell them at work an everywhere. We're all narrators and enjoy telling tales. I have a lot of fun. Thanks for listening. E.E.F.
I came across this tale at an appropriate time of the year -- the last full weekend of Winter 2024. With my Malamute resting on the floor next to me and a cup of hot coffee in hand, I'm ready for such a story. This is a great story with great narration. Thanks, Mr. French.
This is really good. It's so fantastic and makes me think of modern cryptid stories. Mr. French you are such a talented storyteller. Thank you so much!
A rip-snorting slice of classic pulp horror, served up with panache. Was anyone else expecting to hear that the luckless prospector had had to eat roasted protohominid to survive?
Another great rendition , Edward ! I've never read this tale before , so it was a double treat ! Really cool graphic on this one , too . In fact , I've been meaning to ask you if you create your graphics yourself ? I like the retro-ey Weird Tales-ish look of some , and the movie poster vibe of others . Are they like collages taken from various sources and tweaked into a whole , or completely original , or a mix ? Cool stuff ! Happy Independence Day ! 💀🎱💀
I create all the graphics for the stories. It' s what you might call a " mix." The monster image for this one started out as a photo of one of the "husk" people caught in the lava in old Pompeii. The background and lettering was also created in photo shop. Yes, I'm trying for a retro look, but I don't have a lot of time to work on them and my skills are evolving. They're OK. More interesting than doing nothing. "The play's the thing." Thanks, Jeff. E.E.F.
REALLY need a headphone warning on this one! Why such a drastic swing between the different dialogues?! Love your channel, but damn the audio is all over the place!
You don't "march" into an igloo. The locals are not "ignorant indians". It is a pity that the weird tales legacy of the early 20th century is such a cesspool of ignorance.
Hi, William. I hope that's not its only legacy but I wince at the racisim and ignorant attitudes. I think, however, censoring it or somehow sterilizing it like the depiction of slavery in Gone With the Wind and the like, would be more offensive. I appreciate your thoughtful comments. E.E.F.
Excellent telling! Thank you once again Mr. French for a pleasant night. Your work is greatly appreciated!

Your voice is wonderful for story telling.
I was stunned when I first started listening, thinking I was hearing Orson Wells.

I was really expecting the thing's head to be in the bag

A story about involving my local area. You can't better than that.
What? Alaska ? E.E.F.

Great reading, great story but don’t understand the title. The “corpse” wasn’t dead and nobody chowed down on any bodies.😂
