Looks really nice ,but when Im trying to convert my raster pattern to vector they never tile. I've tried different patterns and trace options ,but it doesn't tile in the end. Can you suggest a way around this problem (if you had faced it yourself) ?
When I try to turn a pattern into a vector I follow your steps exactly but my vectorized pattern edges no longer match up. It's as if trace image changes the image too much at the edges. Advice?

Awesome video, thank you!! Quick question, if we are creating a pattern for a client, we save the illustrator swatch pattern, and give them that file - but what if they don't have Illustrator? What are the correct dimensions to create a pattern for them and export that pattern as a PDF to send that file off to the client? Thanks so much!!
Final pattern files really shouldn't be delivered as pdfs. If that's what they're asking for, it would be your pattern square (so in the video, it would be either the 2000px square artboard or 3600px one). If a client commissions a pattern, they should want an ai or eps file (eps is vector based and can be used in other vector editing software outside of Illustrator). I hope that helps!

I did, thanks for asking! The daisies were made using the streaky semi transparent brush from my Gouache Lovers Set: every-tuesday.com/gouache-lovers and the other pattern was made using various brushes from my Ink Lovers set: every-tuesday.com/ink-lovers

@@rosarodriguez8984That's true! I forgot about that. I did see that lettering artist Ian Barnard used an app called Vectornator (now called Linearity Curve. I haven't used it yet, so I don't know how well it works but it may be a work around.

I’m afraid Designer doesn’t have the tracing tool…users have been asking for it but up to now I think they haven’t offered it yet 😢
