Ive been playing the regular bb preamp for years. I absolutely loved it,just wished it had more mids,and then....Bam! Bb preamp with mid boost hits and I immediately bought one. It hasn’t left my pedal board yet. Mid setting at 9:00 are identical to the original. Its a no brainer. Bb w/mid boost is superior.
@rogerburk That's right, I have both but I prefere the original BB for the same reason. The BB is much more warm and harmonically rich. I like also The AC Booster. I'm thinking to make a new video to compare the AC and AC Comp. If you like this video please vote.
fantastic jam playing... i think the bb custom sounds a little bit more aggressive than the regular bb preamp which is smoother. So i'm not sure which I like better.. both sound really nice in its own way. Thanks for posting this comparison.
had regular one. sold it. bought another yesterday.
Nice demo...I have the original BB coming today or tomorow...I love its fat warm thick overdriven tone...goes great with any decent tube amp! Thanks for the side by side comparison.

I love my BB Preamp MB, as others her said when you match the settings (mids at 9) it sounds identical to the regular BB, which I also have. My only criticism of both would be that I wished that their noise floor would be a bit lower.
BB MB will sound identical to regular BB with MB set at 9 o'clock. The video never has it there. It will cut through better with anything higher than that and warmer with any lower setting, obviously.
Very nice playing, and great comparison demo. I prefer the sound of the original BB. Both were nice, but the original seems to have a smoother overall tone. Love Xotic stuff! Thanks for posting.

I actually think the regular version has much nicer mids quality and tone in general - horses for courses though. Good demo mate.

"Much more warm"? Some people have a funny idea of "warm", "much", and "more".
BB MB can sound the same as regular BB, having MB control is a killer feature for an overdrive. No BS BB MB.
Original BB and Vox ac15c1x, there's nothing better, although many have tried.

I have had both and I could never hear any difference. The stock, regular BB has enough mids to compete with a tube screamer, so I am not sure why they created the BB MB. Seems redundant.
Got the "Original" coming in a few days... I think I made the right choice.
Hard to beat the Original...

Hi.. which one would you prefer for booster high gain amp? I need tight and punchy sound.
