Good to see someone else enjoying Yousei Teikoku :)
If you enjoyed this one, you might also really like "Kyusei Άργυρóϛ", featured in the anime Tokyo ESP. It's pretty similar in style, but Das Feenreich has a pretty broad range, they don't just do Anime OSTs, although Yui Itsuki did some work as a Seiyuu.
For something a little newer I'd recommend "Flamma Idola" for you, or their latest Video, which would be "Paradiso≒Inferno", which is a lot more metal.
And just as something any Yousei Teikoku fan will know: The band "Denkishiki Karen Ongaku Shuudan" or "DenKare" for short is the exact same band, they do have seperate band identities, but they are the same people. DenKare's music is - in general - heavier with darker themes. They also have a decent discography but only a single music video sadly, "Detonator" which is a great straight-up heavy metal song.

Add "Shadow Corp(se)" to that, such a wild ride, and some oldies "Schwarzer Sarg" and "Rebellion Anthem." They've been around such a long time, it's disappointing that the seem to have gotten lost in the reaction trend. Same with Yajima Mai, another great goth-power metal band similar to Das Feenreich that is sooo good, but haven't gotten the exposure. "Daydream" and "Replica" are great places to start with them.
@@Vitericus1 It's true some of the oldies are favorites (heck I love some of the older stuff), but I do find it understandable to focus on the later things, especially with bands whose sound evolves over time, and you'll probably agree that "Zetsu" has little in common with "stigma"...
I say that with Rebellion Anthem being the song that got me into Yousei Teikoku, btw :)
As for Yajima Mai, I only really could get into Dominator (which was awesome), but I'm pretty sure they disbanded already.
@@guybrushthreepwood1519 Actually, Dominator was by Aldious. Yajima Mai is the frontwoman of the band of her own name and they're still going; just released a new album last year.
Yes, YT do differ a bit album to album, song to song, all with that gothic-lolita vibe which makes them more interesting, but true that they've kept a more consistent metal sound after Shiren joined for the Guided Fate Paradox and Pax Vesania albums. You can tell he influenced that since it sounds more like Unlucky Morpheus.

As for the changes to Yousei Teikoku, I feel like they started transitioning even before the "Shiren Era", but I'm not a music buff, so I couldn't pinpoint anything specific. I'd say it became even more pronounced now that XiVa and ryöga are onboard. But since I do enjoy the heavier side I'm pretty happy with it, especially since there's always DenKare for the heavier/whackier stuff.

This band is metal, but with symphonic, operatic and gothic stylistic beauty, and the unique voice of vocalist Yui. (She is an anime voice actress)

Ah yes, the sweet memories when I first heard this song when I started to watch Mirai Nikki. There are a few really good Yousei Teikoku songs. Disorder, Warheit, The Creator. These three are worth listening to definitely imo.

The direction of Bandmaid? You realize Yui Itsuki formed this band in 1997??? I think it is safe to say that you have that in reverse! Yui is a pioneer in this genre! She also did voice acting in Kanokon (2008), Black Butler (2008) and The Guided Fate Paradox (2013).
"Filament" is another song from the same band I'd recommend, as the strings there, especially in the first 18 seconds of the song, are just rich, brilliant and majestic. Check it out!
