As far as I know, Kenner used a fire retardant on the ROTJ and POTF blisters! I had a 77 back Hoth Rebel soldier that has turned very yellow over the years!

try the hydrogen peroxide salon cream applied with a small brush. maybe use a low tack painter's tape around the edge of the blister, then put under a black light for a couple of hours. the salon cream isn't too runny. do a dry run on a spare figure. I've seen this yellowing on the jedi cards more than anything. if i had one, I'd try it out. I've restored all the core vehicles over a year ago and they still look pristine. good luck mate!

@@cachanilla1375 I used the info from the video below, which lays out the process simply. I've rejuvinated vehicle bodies, cockpit windows, yellowed figs, etc. would love to try one of those yellowed ROTJ blisters - I'll look out for a loose blistered fig and try. If I ruin it, oh well.

I believe the bubbles are made with thin acrylic, and acrylic ALWAYS turns yellow. It is the process of aging for plastic. Regardless of what humidity or what lighting you put it in it will eventually turn yellow and eventually rot away.
This is why they stopped using acrylic for eyeglass lenses, because they turn yellow over time.
I have figures from the 1990s that are all yellowed.

I had a bunch of brand new boxed neca figures sored in a black airtight container which blocked out sunlight completely for about 2 years.
I got them out and a few of them were badly yellowed.
Only thing that could've done it would be heat.
Probably got too hot in there over the summers.
Iv had uv damage to clam shells before.
I've even heard of lights discolouring plastic too.
Peroxide method works on figures..but not sure if it works on the packaging itself.
    Worth a try I suppose.
