Being an Ontario guy, north of NY. This is more akin to the fish outings I have, more wind than I'd like, and of course handling the odd northern pike.
Cayuga Lake is definitely a body of water that demands respect, and it WILL take its respect one way or another sailboat capsized a few days ago from a storm that rolled through. That was the south end near ithaca, though. And south wind in NY is the most treacherous wind for sure!
Thank you for honoring Memorial Day with an enjoyable bass video. No coffee today, but yogurt for breakfast. Made potato salad for various friends (15 lbs. of spuds.) Happy that you stayed safe in the wind. The waves were becoming meclizine-like LOL (Clearlake was like that one year with waves breaking over the bow!) I envy those 4 pounders that were consistently snagged. One can only hope 😊 Enjoy your week! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Thanks Greg for posting in NY, I'm from Rochester, have a hunting camp in Naples on south end of Canandaigua Lake!!! I'm in SC now still go back every year to hunt with my dad, brother and friends!!!
I absolutely love a jig bite!! My gawd what a great day Greg, I fish a highland reservoir with small spotted bass most of the time, I can’t wait to get to fish a place like this one day!! Amazing!!
I enjoyed your video, conditions were not the best but there was plenty of bass to be caught. What a great fishery with good size bass. Thanks for sharing and looking forward to the next one Greg!!
Great catches bro. my second home is Farmington NY and surprisingly I've never fished the finger lakes. it's definitely on my list now after seeing your videos. keep up the great videos brother!
Greg thank you for another satisfying day in the lake you have great intuition about when to fish in good conditions and be aware when the weather is way too sketchy! You have the best of two worlds fish your hometown fisheries and those lakes in California just a great day on the lake either way. Thanks for sharing you keep safe tight lines brother and God bless!
this looked like such a fun day of fishing...pulling in some biggins with literally every cast! wow! amazing. that was fun to watch. Can't wait to take my kayak out fishing.
Another fun trip to New York. Next time, let me know, so I can pack correctly! You sacked em once again! Thanks for bringing us along! Motownman out! ✌🏼
Those were some big waves 🌊 you were going through!!! So glad your day ended up being productive and enjoyable👍🏼Love seeing the difference between NY and Cali as a native SoCal gal! Okay, old gal😂 See you in the next one❣️
Hah, at 13:48 you said "they are all 4lbers!" A group of us came up with the hashtag of #justanother4lber because of how Cayuga treats ya! Love that place.
*I have a theory that unless you're* fishing clear water, it doesn't really matter which jig trailer you use - it could be a craw, a creature bait, worm doesn't really matter. What might matter is the scent and/or the color. But the the trailer itself doesn't matter. Maybe I'm crazy. *Great video though,* you really did quite well catching some solid bass in these conditions. Making it look easy.
Good stuff Greg! Crazy how fast your views pour in. So awesome😀 I'm putting up my week long trip to Cayuga right now. I just released Day 1 on my channel yesterday. Highlight was a 20lb Drum and my friend breaking his PB 3 times in the day. Days 2, 3 and 4 are freaking epic! Hope you give them a view man. We went off the beaten path on Day 2 and Day 3 and had some crazy results. Day 2 was an 83 fish day for us, biggest being 6lbs and many were 4-5lbs. And nope, not at the bridge!
Nice I keep forgetting your on the east coast but Happy Memorial Day everytime I fish with a jig I get stuck & break off any tips to avoid snags I know it’s gunna happen but ya it’s always the jig.
@@GregBlanchardFishing judging by this video, I don't doubt it. Cayuga is on my bucklist and it's only 6 hours away, now that I have a NK180 on the ol' Slayer, definitely making it up there sometime soon. Thought about entering the BOS but it's not lining up for me either.
Hi Greg, got any tips on fishing muddy lakes? The lake I fish has no grass just reeds. I fish the reeds when the water level is up but when the water goes below the reeds I have no idea what to throw in the mud to find them lol
NY fishing in the Spring is something everyone needs to do at least once. Too bad you didn't bring a scale or measuring board to see what you would've had.
Haha, one of the great things about this region is there are about 100 different places all within a couple hours to fish that are all phenomenal. Cayuga is the most well known but there are so many other great options
10 to 15 years back the Sacramento delta had monster bass just like that lake you just fish but since inflation and rent going up people found it easier to spend couple bucks to catch big bass for dinner.. 😂idk I’m just saying..
You gotta go to some Midwestern states before you make a video like this 🤣🤣🤣 I been catching 15 every night the last 2 weeks in a hour and. Half after work.
Never take for granted being able to do the things we love. Thank you to those who sacrificed so that is possible 🙏🇺🇸
🫡🇺🇲
Greg, you are so true on your statement, so many people think Memorial Day is about the cookouts. As a marine, I have done to many military funerals.
Amen brother, thanks for the video
@@michaelkoziol4738 Thanks so much for your service ❤️
Amen Greg well said.
Greg climbs back into the truck after fishing and becomes Jed Clampett of the Beverly Hillbillies. “Woo Doggie”!
Consistently beautiful fish! That lake is on my bucket list. Thanks for another great NY video.
hope you can make a trip up one day, OLA! not as big as the Florida bass but just consistently good quality and numbers

15 pounds dang! Cheers!
Im a bass boat fisherman, but the more I watch Greg, the more I'm thinking the kayak would be a great second rig.
im in the same boat (oun unintended)
*pun
Exactly!
A kayak can’t replace a boat but a boat can’t replace a kayak
Thanks Greg for posting in NY, I'm from Rochester, have a hunting camp in Naples on south end of Canandaigua Lake!!! I'm in SC now still go back every year to hunt with my dad, brother and friends!!!
That’s what I like to see!!! Catching big ditch pickles!!! Should be doing best 5! I bet you are having some good bags.
you might be able to see the future haha
really liking the bait image on screen. thanks
Greg, I thought you had a really great day, out there. He said, I'm no dink, you're not boat flipping me. 😂 🛶 🎣
hahaha, never underestimate the NY bass
These last couple of videos got me wanting to take a trip to New York.
highly recommend!
Thanks for letting us be there!! Look crazy at the start!! Have a great rest of your day! Happy Memorial Day!!
Finger Lakes area is one of the coolest places in America. I've had some good times & made great memories there. Thanks for uploads.

A new Greg Blanchard video. Life is good! Grab your bowls, Cheers fellas
Beautiful, what a place to fish. Thanks Greg
Thanks Scott! blessed to have this in my backyard when home
Good stuff. What a day. I’d be stoked to have a day like that. That is an amazing fishery.

Great upload from NY Greg. Awesome day on the water. In memorial of all of those we have lost. God bless you and god bless America and its warriors🇺🇸

This everyday fishing in Eastern Nebraska. Winds are brutal but you get rewarded.
Time for a coffee sit back and watch a bit of Greg's fishing adventures.
Getting myself ready to take my son night fishing for the first time..
Hope you guys have a great time regardless of the fishing!
@@GregBlanchardFishing 1 thing I've learned. Is just to have fun when I'm out. Sometimes it's just about being out.

Once again, a top cast video!
Great showing of what’s up in the NE, looked like a blast! Can’t beat a Titan!
Safe travels 🍻

Whoa another fish!

and...
my god this place is insane!
no matter what boat your in you always have to play the wind in upper Ny. but the fishing there is always top shelf
Great fishery and a really great day on the water. Super vid Greg, thanks!
Nice video. You should do a video of your rods setup one of these days
Looks like a good time
So many big fish. Looks awesome!

i have been watching for years now and never seen you catch
3 lb averages. im a southern cali guy but NY was on fire for you.......
That place looks so fun I neeeed to get out there! Sick video once again greg, I’m suprised by how big those fish are in new york
that looked fun!

I was there on Saturday, didn't do so well. From what I saw nobody else was having that good of a day. We're you there this month?
My pb game on a slobberknocker this year, great lure
Greg
Great trip 🎣🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Whackfest!! What a lake, what a bite ..flipping for 4-5 lbers doesn't get any better imo .Love when you go home
Love living in the finger lakes.
if it weren't for the few months of pretty tough fishing it'd be hard to leave
Dang I need a day like that soon!
You are the man
Greg we need more of those sun hoodies man was about to buy one but all out of stock
Man I've been slacking/procrastinating! hoping within the next month and will update everyone once all is done!
Days like that make the other days manageable 😂
you said it
Very nice.
Wish you would weigh more of your fish. You were catching some giants in NYC!! Love your videos!

man i want the titan X sooooo bad now. the fomo is real
Thought you'd be staying for the BOS tourney happening in a week?
Wish I could've just didn't line up. gonna be some big bags for that tournament for sure

Greg 2 questions, how do you navigate that wind without an anchor? And why don’t you use the rod tubes when you were going under the bridge?
Cayuga is on my list as an east coaster
You moved away from that fishery to Cali??? Left fish to find fish, Greg....
true statement, i guess i gotta go back to NY more
Hi Greg, got any tips on fishing muddy lakes? The lake I fish has no grass just reeds. I fish the reeds when the water level is up but when the water goes below the reeds I have no idea what to throw in the mud to find them lol
Can you recommend a guide w/bass boat up there? I will be visiting up there.
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Hey Greg
How did you mount the GOMEXUS Power Knob? Thanks
the big one is called one eye willy
No Smallies? Those NY lakes usually have a ton of them and it's usually hot in the spring.
For sure and smallie trips are to come
Thats a good bag.
Some friends and I were out at the same time - my buddy caught the fish of his life - 8+ right at the bridge the day after this I think
NY fishing in the Spring is something everyone needs to do at least once. Too bad you didn't bring a scale or measuring board to see what you would've had.
Do use braided lines? Or mostly flouro?
Greg do an ultralight bass series with 4lb line
Try a jig with liter wire hook for better penetration.
I hope you're picking up your tag end clippings and plastics good sir. Already enough garbage in our waterways.
We’re is all you New York anglers at? If this was Cali there be 100 people out there
Haha, one of the great things about this region is there are about 100 different places all within a couple hours to fish that are all phenomenal. Cayuga is the most well known but there are so many other great options
What straps do you use on the back of your chinook to keep the back down? Thanks
Ohh i just realized it’s your go pro straps when you put your raincoat on
That canal has spinner bait written all over it
Booyah
You caught the same fish 8 times down that strip 😂
🎣
Wow consistently 4lbers and that’s just a normal day. Wish I can say that for shasta lake. lol
They were all 4+ lbs., because I went and cleaned out all the dinks before you flew in.
It’s not a day of fishing if you don’t get your poles tangled up at least once.
10 to 15 years back the Sacramento delta had monster bass just like that lake you just fish but since inflation and rent going up people found it easier to spend couple bucks to catch big bass for dinner.. 😂idk I’m just saying..
Can you put the fish in the GoPro next time? I couldn’t see none of the fishes you caught damn near. 😢
This on cayuga???
lol nvm I know it’s on cayuga that’s my home lake on my bass boat 🤙🏼
Clearlake is the most consistent.
Consistently inconsistent
hahaha so true
Do you want to sell the new york slayer max 10?
