It’s very convinient that in Helsinki nearly everything also is written in Swedish. As a Dutchie with knowledge of German i can in most cases get the essential out of Swedish text.
The second point is kinda dumb. Only 5% of the population speaks it natively. And half of those 5% speak finnish in some way. Swedish is just seen as "the annoying thing you have to learn" for most finns.
I've spent so much time of my life on Åland Islands when i was a child. Since then i've visited all kinds of different places around the world, but there is nothing as magical as Åland. I will learn swedish, come back and never leave again.
