The Mizael win over III and V is definitely a more notable accomplishment than Vector's win over Merab and Durbe imo. Durbe had only an unfinished duel against Shark to that point and Merab had a little bit of hype upon her introduction, but probably still loses to III. Combined with Mizael's close performances against Kaito, I think he is definitely better than Vector by a reasonably significant margin, but Vector might still win head-to-head just due to the fact he seems to use a strategy specifically designed to combat other Barians.

    • @tsunax1400

Idk because III and V shared their lifepoints against Mizar and thus alternated their turns, that was Mizar’s only condition, still an impressive win of course but vector had no such advantage, he basically said screw it because the 2v1 didn’t bother him. Just my opinion tho.

    • @Ceol-wb4er
      @Ceol-wb4er Год назад +3

Mizar’s feat isn’t more notable than Vector’s. In episode 55 of the second part of Zexal after III stole Mizar’s number he stated:” but I am one of the seven emperors. The duel is not over yet”. So according to Mizar’s own statement even the weakest Barian emperor without his/her over hundred number can still put up a fight against III and V. On top of that Anna and Nelson were strong enough to force Mizar to summon number c107 and considering that at the beginning of the duel III and V were so weak that Mizar said thet he didn’t even need to bring out his C number then III and V aren’t much stronger than Anna and Nelson and overall Mizar almost lost (and keep in mind that although he was facing two opponents, III and V alternated their turns). On the other hand Vector dominated in a duel against two Barian emperors and won with 4000 life points using rules which put him at great disadvantage (such as Marin and Dumon had separate life points and they didn’t alternate their turns). On top of that Marin and Dumon were using strategies potentially good enough to otk even the good duelists of Zexal. Considering all of this Vector is far stronger than Mizar. Also Mizar doesn’t even have better feats than Alito so he’s not close to Vector. Lastly human Shark is easily stronger than III and V separately. Human Shark defeated IV who is stronger than III while it was shown that V’s strategy is weak against cards that negate his number’s effect so Shark’s rank 3 xyz monster can potentially be strong enough to beat V’s number. Rio as a human was able to put up a good fight against her brother so at the least Rio and Dumon (individually) are stronger than V.

Kaito at 1 is impossible to justify from a rational viewpoint.
    1. I dislike the kaito never lost argument. in the end of s1 yuma could have won if he had used zexal. yuma not using zexal means he didn't use his full power. some might argue that it would not be fair of yuma to use zexal since kaito doesn't have powers on his own. no one complained when atem did the same vs yugi. life is simply not fair and kaito is the kind of duelist who would want yuma to go all out. in s2 kaito's hardest opponent was mizael who is the 3rd strongest barian emperor. kaito has that win record because the competetion he faced in s2 was nothing compared to what yuma and shark faced. win record means nothing anyway. z-one stands at 1 win and 1 loss and he is still the strongest duelist in 5d's since yusei barely won despite having all signer dragon, the crimson dragons power, antinomy telling him that there is something beyond accel synchro, aporia givingbhimndata on z-one, his father preventing him from throwing the duel and more. back to kaito. Aoi for instance is on the opposite side of the spectrum if you look at female characters only. she dueled 2 primary season villains, a portagonist who bever lost onscreen in the present time, soulburner who had the ultimate plot armor thanks to flame being fated to be absorbed by bohman and a secondary villain who had his debut duel so him losing was very unlikely. Aoi has a bad win record but she is still a great duelist. her competition was simply very strong. actually it was stronger than kaito's which is crazy sinde yugioh loves their male trios.
    2. he barely improves in s2. he gets one new ace which he loses in the end since astral takes all numbers. yuma and shark meanwhile improved a lot.
    3. he has no powers. yuma can draw cards at will and create new ones on will as well. idk if he has the third zexal power which allows you to rwrite cards in your hand. astral had over 100 numbers and still lost to yuma. saying that yuma would lose to kaito in the end of the show is again impossible to rationally argue for.

He was able to not only defeat a literal dueling god and the king of barians with Zexal, but he also defeated the proclaimed greatest duelist of the dimensions/the holder of EVERY number monster INCLUDING the greatest number monsters of their adversaries AS WELL AS every form of his own ace number monster (The same monster that almost defeated Kaito in Zexal 1) without any assistance.

Mizael 100% should be higher than Vector - he's the only Barian Emperor (besides Nasch) who has the dueling chops to feasibly beat Yuma in a 1-on-1.
He had Yuma absolutely dead-to-rights in their duel (especially if Yuma continued instead of fainting), and even when Kaito took over, if C107 hadn't overloaded the Barian Field with its overwhelming power (which should say a lot in itself), Mizael would have still won against Kaito. In their Sargasso duel, Mizael was about to win that one too but thankfully again, duel field surrounding shenanigans ended it prematurely.
There's a reason that the 1st time we get to see a Mizael duel not end prematurely (and the first time C107's effect is revealed) is when the entire world is tantamount to a Sphere Field so it couldn't get overloaded by C107; his first full on-screen duel was against III & V, 2 incredibly powerful duelists in their own rights, let alone when tagging together, and considerably more impressive than defeating Mirag & Durbe IMO.
Heck, he only losses were because Kaito created a new Galaxy-Eyes monster on the moon, & then again because Don Thousand basically cheated (starting with Numeron Network on field & being able to rewrite cards with his 'Revision' Counter Traps, which could be activated from the Deck).
He was the first duelist where I genuinely got scared for his opponents because, except the Don Thousand duel where he was obviously about to get worfed, he genuinely seemed unstoppable & I couldn't see how he was going to lose, even in the moon duel against Kaito.

Now you may be able to make an argument for Kite being the smartest character in zexal, but I have to disagree with him being the strongest, Outside of all the characters with hacks, Astral gaining even parts of eons of experience, Shark gaining his past memories as a king and don thousand being a legitimate god.
I also would not say he carried the don thousand duel, his addition seemed more or less to include him along with yuma and nasch, one supra would've curved that duel even worse for don thousand than kite did.
or down to just decks, he may have a chance against shark if he could stop him from summoning barian hope, but utopia beyond and don thousand would overwhelm him if he were to duel either of them.
And for me, saying he's only been best by tron in the earlier half of zexal is a bad argument.

    7.Quattro
    8.Vetrix
    9.Nistro
    10.Quinton
As with the other lists I don't like to factor in outside abilities/cheats when it comes to ranking the strongest Duelist. Number 96 while a good villain always felt more like an annoyance than an actual threat. Faker's duel was hijacked by Vector so I don't think he meets the criteria of having 1 duel under his belt. Quinton never really really grew as a Duelist but he started from a strong place so that really helps him get 10th for me. Nistro really grew as a Duelist and while to Alito I felt it could go either way. I put Quattro over Vetrix as I felt his performance against Nasch, although a losing effort, pushed Nasch to his limits. I've put Yuma lower down than you did as I feel that a lot of his victories he owed to Astral. Unlike Yugi (who showed his growth and ability against multiple opponents without Atem around), Yuma almost always had Astral and while he did pull off some independent wins, it always felt like he was struggling. I put Astral at the number two spot as I felt he deserved a lot of the credit for Yuma's victories (especially his wins as Zexal) but he relied on unfair tactics (shining draw) when he clearly had the skill to win without.

Kaito is a very secure top place for Zexal given his sheer consistency and quality of opponents beat or shown as superior to, Tron loss being closer to an outlier since its asterisk isn't even close to like Atem's asterisks for canon duels ("let me introduce blatantly in my favour timelimit Yugi boy") though that still secures Tron a spot in top 10, and certainly puts him with Seto and Soulburner as strongest duellists outside the MCs, the basically MCs characters (Supreme King, Yu Boys and Z-ARC and even AI a bit) or those who are straight up hax (like Yuma and Astral in ZEXAL which doesn't count in such lists as its a combo) among the master duel series, Rush Duels are their own tier list for me.

I would not put Tron higher than any Barian, at least not the 3 best Barians, remember that all the Barians got the Rank-up Sevens spell that gave them an instant Chaos Number monster.
Also, I would exchange Yuma and Astral positions, Yuma was the rival of Shark, and Astral was the rival of Kite, and Shark was always better than Yuma and Kite was a bit better than Astral, even with the Zexal morph.
I think people confuse Astral with Yuma and gives more importance to Yuma because he was the human and Astral depended on Yuma to duel but Yuma was like Joey Wheeler (a clown) and Astral was more like Atem. The only reason why Yuma defeted Astral was, because Yuma new very well how Astral thinks, and because he was able to make shining draw and make a new version of Utopia without the help of Astral. Not even Astral expected that. I guess while dueling each other affected Yuma, evenso Astral was not by his site, Yuma was able to use Astral`s power by dueling against him. And like Yugi Muto would have never been able to defeat Atem, if they did not share there time together, Yuma would not neither.

I think I would actually start out the list with Dr. Faker. Would put Quattro after Faker in this list instead of 96. He showed how strong he was throughout the series only losing to the top 3 on this list definitely showed us how he was the strongest of the 3 brothers by being a champion. He didn't lose to Bronk like 96 did who I feel really didn't show us great results despite being powerful. Astral could go up to number 3 I feel since he technically did beat Shark with Yuma at the end of the show and he certainly gave Yuma quite a battle but I can see him being number 4 too still like you put him. Kaito number 1 hands down the strongest of the yugioh rivals ever and certainly up there as top 5 or 3 duelist in all of yugioh!
