Your Moto Mike is We Did it a family of passion for Trucking life, and your supporters are family of your channel also. Glad your Father and your Wife are part of your channel often
I love seeing ur dad on the Channel and working on the trucks
He's a rock star 👍
Father and son teams are what the world is missing. Tim Gentry works with his dad, too. It's like an A team thing. Just saying is all.
Great video Mike glad to see you and your Dad collaborating on Smokey and Stubby. Looking forward to your next video stay safe Mike.
It is always a pleasure to you and your dad to work together as a team. 3 Cheers to you Mike for giving your dad Stuby. That will keep him active and working together as a team.
Mike....Always look forward to your videos. Seeing you and your father working together is Excellent!
Now you guys are really moving. I'm so glad your Dad has taken Stubby out of the doldrums.
Awesome video Mike you and your Dad make one heck of a team. Thanks for the compliment Mike I'am a 76 year old re-tired trucker myself.😊👍👍
Love it... seeing you and your dad working together.....
You’ve got snow up to the windows and I cut my grass yesterday. Huge difference in weather from BC Canada and TN USA. 😂. Great job on getting the panel off. One major hurdle accomplished.
I would move there in a heartbeat if I could make the same living there .
Great teamwork Father and Son 👍👌.
Surprising how complicated the cab build is?
Great work and thanks for sharing
Your dad is just great…👍
I think so too!
The work your Dad is doing on Stubby is great. The frame also doenst look too bad. Pleased to see he's getting some attention. As for Smokey. WOW. That was a job to get that panel off. Hope you can ge a replacement easy enough or something made up to fit. Going to be interesting to see how the fibreglass bit comes together.
It’s really good to you and your dad collaborating on the trucks! Your dad’s logic is sound because of experience. He is a good guy, love seeing him in your videos!!
So true!
Hi Mike from Yorkshire England you have a lot of work cutting the cab apart seeing you and your dad together reminds me of my dad rest in peace dad
Love the video Mike. Love your methodical approach to something as daunting as the cab repair but you've reduced it to what it is, some aluminium sheet and some fibreglass. In that way it is much less daunting. Great logic and enjoyable watching. Must be very rewarding to see things coming together. I'll be watching every minute.
They both are coming along really nice can't wait to see what your dad does to his truck
In Australia we call it a multi tool
Love you’re vids keep them coming
Great video Mike to seen you and Dad work together. Keep it up.
Thanks Leon 😊
good plans Mike. get the glass done, get a sheet bent-almost all done! Looking good
That's the plan!
It's called a multi tool, I use mine all the time, love seeing you Dad too.
Real progress been made here Mike 👍
Great job Mike, the pride on your Dads face watching you work is wonderful.
Pretty soon the only thing Smokey on Smokey will be his exhaust on a cold start. 💯💯💯
Can't wait!
The Last Cabover I Restored, was my Dad's 1976 KW K100 Bicentennial Edition Aerodyne. One day I will get around to starting on my 1985 Liberty Edition K100 Aerodyne.
Awesome 👌
Hello Mike …..Mike from Cleveland Ohio! Truck is coming along,it’s going to look beautiful when you are finished!
Love your Vids its snowing like mad here in the UK.
You just need a 3.5mm drill bit to drill the rivets out Mike. They are probably 3/16 (or 4.8mm) so once you are through you wiggle the drill about and bingo!
Guys got a lot done . I enjoy watching the progress you guys make the only bad is there is not more videos lol .
Smokey going to look nice when you get it done
I’m so glad to see Stubby without the deck! Watching progress on Smoky is awesome! I eagerly await your new content to see your progress on all your projects! I enjoy your content!!!
Thanks Owen
Good video Mike. Lots of progress. Thanks.
You and your Dad are quite a pair...🤣!!
Great progress, Willis
Mike is there a metal supply sales/ shop near you if so take the panel to them have them cut you a new panel out of a 4'X8' sheet of metal I would go back with 16 gauge cold roll steel be cheaper and I would leave the vent out of the new panel less holes the better JMO but love seeing you and your dad working together that will keep him going he's use to being busy so let him do all that he wants to do keeps him young at heart but y'all stay safe and keep the video's coming
Mike I sure do enjoy your dads trucking stories👍
Your Dad is making great progress on stubby...
stopped editing my stuff to watch your stuff this am
🙏👊😎
I love the old truck I like watching u guys
Same here weatherwise on the west coast of Norway. Winter is delayed.
Hi Mike and Dad ,, stubby deck can be made into tray deck for back of your tractor , just put jib attachments on it to suit tractor ,, beats making use less scrap now it's practical again ,, hope you guys see my visions
That's a really good idea
Peterbilt Mike hope you can get Smokey Fixed and Going Keep Up the good 👍 work Billy Lizza Uniontown pa USA Mike hope Your Dad can get The Deck off his truck Love All Those videos and Trucks
We have a couple concrete roads in our are of Ontario, let me tell you not fun in a truck especially when you’re empty!
I love working with my dad also!
Verry nice Video, Mike.
Best wishes to your dad. Great him working with 76, like 20 jears old.
Stubby ist now dad s Projekt?
Good video Mike thanks for making it.
Think Peterbilt Dad is having fun
I've being restoring an 1982 white road boss with big cam Cummins 400 , and I've rebuilt entire chassis from back of gear box all the way to back inside ŕails removed for severely rust jacked , outta rails not so bad , had new inner rails pressed and folded then we drilled out all the 42 holes a side at 3/4 inch using the magnet drill , now that's a drill , this drill had all 84 holes done in hours time ,, now try it with a normal drill and you might get 3 hours done in a hour if your not worn out 1st
Good progress on both trucks👍🏼
Hi whatcha up to hope all is well prayers 4 healing and unspoken also prayers 4 everyone and bless great healthy peaceful safe journeys travels and happy day everyday also cool video stay warm yall
🚌🌅🌌⛺🌄🏞🏖
👍👍💪🙂👍👍
Mike, I left you alone with the dec-als instead of de-cals pronunciation. But the word is regardless!!! 😂😂😂
Lol
Awesome job
Great Video Mr.C, nice progress on smokey.
On the fiberglass repair might it be a good idea to get a cut out piece of roof from an aerodyne, and laminate that in from where the fiberglass is unburnt and solid.
Keep saving the cabovers!💪
Cheers, Mike
Yep getting some fiberglass Donner cap today
Excellent progress Mike 👍
we call that tool the fancy saw lol
Mike, That was a good move, just replace the panel The corner really wouldn't be that hard to produce, simply manually bending alloy sheet over a round form first then do the cut outs for the vent and tool door. The damaged fibreglass cap can be a patch job, building the layers. She'll be a great Aerodyne when done.
Great video Mike you will get her done I belive in you bro
Your dads a legend 👍🏻
I live in south central Kentucky and we have had exactly 1 inch of snow all winter. It’s been the warmest January and February on record. March is turning colder though.
Mike, I would take the cab off Kenny and put it on Smokey and put Kenny's engine and drive train in K 2. That way it would give you two usable trucks with longer wheelbases. Use Smokey's cab for parts. Would also save you money and time. Just a thought. You wouldn't have to buy any more engines or cut offs. I love to see you and your dad working together.
4 door would be awesome
cannot wait for the next one
Looks like you made some progress with smokey too...
Did the Aero-Shield have to be ordered prior to building the truck, or could it be retro fit? Many cabovers on the east coast of the USA had wheelbases in the 152, 154, 156 inch range because of length laws. Yep, because of logistics, even if somebody had a NOS panel, getting local sheet metal people to fabricate one is probably a good viable alternative. A tri-drive cabover with a big cooking engine would be a good lowbed tractor. Adding twin-steer would make it even better. You guys are doing good. Get some brakes on that backhoe while the snow is flying. Thanks for all you do. Take care.
It’s called a multi tool here in the UK Mike👍🏻
Stubby got his stub cut off.
1mm cutting discs for yer grinder are yer best friend.
400 inch wheel base . Would make her sweet ride ,plus a 3 door cab would make her very unique.
If you guys are going to extend any frames I’d use that as your inner frame support that thick metal on the back of stubby is good for that
Need to get Bad Chad to come give you a Hand.
Yeah he's a wizard
It's a Shame that your Son is not interested in working on the big Rigs with you it would be Great to see 3 Generations working together on the Trucks / Toys
Yeah 😔
Mike , tim gentry is working with some gentleman in Kentucky that make all kind of stuff, see if they can make these for you , send them the old ones and get new ones back
If you have a plasma cutting shop near you they should be able to cut you an exact copy with all the cut-outs and rivet holes.
Great vids wish auto industry we could rebuild them like that
Living in the "Great White North"... better thee than me! For me, anything
Stretched frame pros: Rides a lot better.
Stretched frame cons: Everybody has done/is doing it.
Whacked your hand with the hammer on the first swing... yep, get that event out of the way first.😉
Looks like Smokey now has what you could call an open-air concept sleeper. 😁
That was a scary moment when the chain broke and it looked like the deck might flip backwards. 😯
I would look for a fab shop that could bend the corner, someone might have made a radius punch that would work, i have made lots of press brake tooling, and you can just make a flat piece of fiberglass, maybe make it on a piece of glass from a patio door, i have total faith in you..
That's why you say pain in the arse!
This is the week end they closed the coquihalla for the week end because of the snow. They closed it just after I traveled too YVR too get back home. So ya lots of snow. BTW it snowed here in London, England when I got back.
That's crazy
When you are tired of the snow bacardi has a taste tour and they have stuff to warm you up from the inside.
your dad did a great job
Any shop with a cnc laser or plasma table should be able to replicate that panel. Just remember to add a inch or two on the the side you cut.
Nice job!
I'd be hitting the wrecking yards when you get some nicer weather.....
Yes absolutely, hopefully that comes before May
Great idea to put a window or door extra.
Dad did good with the front end of stubby.
Those are solid rivets Ide drill them .that is what I do for a living on aircraft
mike if you are going to get pannel made get the whole pannel...Put it back to factory instead of a cutnshut, it wont be hard for them to role the corner.
You probably have a better luck of getting the panel here in Australia
Put the vent back in, it would look stupid without it.
Amazing what the salt does ta your Canadian trucks with the rust and all. I have a southern US truck older than that one, and no rust at all.
OMG I would love to find a rust free K100
Mike, if you don't need those overhead flashing roof lights on top of stubby, I'll take them off your hands.
Okay will see what dad wants to do with them
@@mikethetrucknut no hurry, I know there's a lot of work to be done with "Stubby". The whole truck has to be cleaned up.
Good evening 🙏 ✨....still curious as to why and what the reason is for the wood panelling on the underside of the cab floor is for ....
Kenworth engineering 🙄
Mike, I have 85 double sleeper 362. I noticed that the cab mounts are different than mine. The problem with mine is they are hydraulic and can’t rebuild kits yours looks manual. Was that an option back then
Stubby has an air ride cab with hydraulic locks. One works the other is stuck
@@mikethetrucknut can those be purchased or is there part number. I’ve tried to buy an airride system but can’t find one ,Appreciate your come back if you do find a part number please let know. Your show is still the best
@Hooch I don't think we can still get them but I'm going to check and see.
@@mikethetrucknut thanks. I still need to get the name and phone # for the guy that sells build sheets.
There are some cement highways in Nova Scotia
When it comes down to it, Smokey will start, it has a Detroit.
60 series detroit desiel...
@@lwilcox7418 it's actually what I meant.
Get a Dremel with a flex shaft
mike you know you can see if they make the top
I bet that panel will go on a CNC machine
Check out Gentry an son he has a out fit that can make the panels you need to replace on smokey
😎👍
Come on back to coos bay OR
I will for sure !
What's up with Kenny I haven't seen him in a while? Allwyn from jamaica
He's just hanging in the back of the shop
wasn't sure if duck was allowed to say
