The pool pond setup video was the first video of yours I watched, and i’ve been enjoying following along with the journey ever since. Thanks for taking the time to make these videos, Fish Friday with a cup of tea is now very much a part of my weekly routine!✌️
Wow you have been with me for literally the entire journey! That is awesome man, thanks so much for being a part of it. I'm glad that you are enjoying the videos, that means so much to me 🙌
You are such an inspiration! I would love to see a more detailed video or maybe you already have done one on how you made your garbage can filter. That's awesome. Thanks again!! 🙌😍🐟🐠
Fabulous. You have worked so hard. I can tell that you really care about your fish. The fish look beautiful and healthy. I wish everybody looked after their fish as well as you do. ❤
I have watched all of these videos more than once. You have worked hard to maintain it and I wish I had a pool pond just like it. Keep up the good work Tobias.
Ever consider building a wooden enclosure or something to clean up the look some? After the winter the sides on mine got ruined so I have to come up with a new idea for that.
Yeah I've thought about that. The reason I haven't done something like that yet is because I keep telling myself that I am going to build the in-ground pond, but I still haven't gotten around to it 😂
@@TobiasHolenstein I'm thinking about setting something up like this in the high desert area, near victorville. A few nights a year it gets down in the 20s, but for the most part average winter lows are in the low 40s or just above freezing. Do you think i might have problems with icing?
Great video man, it is nice to see where you started and where you are at now! Zo how is the pump now that the sponge is out of it? Does it still clug up that mutch?
That's great. I'm new into koi keeping so trying to get something thats not going to break the bank you know. I'm all the way in South Africa 🇿🇦 . Might go with a fibreglass as the only option left lol
@@niven4662 Good luck with your pond! Yeah a pool pond is a great way to go when you are starting out and then you can do something more permanent later down the road 🙂
So it turns out that I don't need to run heaters in my pond because I live in the Los Angeles area and it doesn't get super cold where I live. Also all my fish are cold water fish. I did try to run a few 500W aquarium heaters in this pond during the first winter that I had it but then I learned that I didn't need them and also they were super expensive to run.
Wow. Impressive. Do you gravel vacuum at all or do your filters and plants do the job for you? Really appreciate you posting the pool pond's journey. Thanks!
Thank you! I would sometimes vacuum the gravel, but to be honest I haven't done it in a long time haha. But here's a video on how I would vacuum if you want to check it out ruclips.net/video/boXSvAsFLow/видео.html
Yeah I have a DIY trashcan filter, and for the new pond that I'm building I built a more beefy double trashcan filter. You can see how I built it here ruclips.net/video/9Mhe57-N4Kw/видео.html
@@Gobrian44 I didn't really have any rust. I think maybe there were some spots where the metal was a little brown, but I didn't see any significant rust. I live in the Los Angeles area so it's a pretty dry climate, although I imagine that having it inside a garage will probably create some humidity, so I would maybe look into some kind of humidity control to protect the inside of your garage as well as the pool pond

Is anyone having trouble playing the video in HD? RUclips says it is still processing the HD version and I am wondering if I should re-upload
It's fine here.
@@DMike54 Ok cool!
Awesome video, it's come along beautifully. Can't believe it's been three years already. I've just posted a pond update to 🙏 👍
Thanks so much man! Yeah I can't believe it either haha. I'll check out your pond update!
You've done well buddy 👍👍👍
Thank you! 😄🙌
Look forward to see you upgrading your pond into something more permanent or maybe bigger. Your pond looks overstocked.

Hi! How to keep warm in winter? I'm in NYC and it freezes in the winter, so is there a way to keep warm?
What do you do during winter? How do you protect the fish and the pipes etc?
I live in southern California, so the weather doesn't really get cold enough to cause any issues

Can this pool pond survive in 45° C temperature.
Yes mine survived, during the summer it gets that hot here where I live
Can you eat these fishes or not ? If not what the reason why ?
