There are two Olympic Diving events: Springboard in which athletes use a three-metre duralumin diving board to generate bounce so that they can perform acrobatic manoeuvres in the air; and
Platform in which athletes dive from a 10-metre-high fixed platform. Enjoy watching the best dives at the Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo.

I have watch Diving in 4 Olimpic but this girl dives is the best and most beautiful dive that I have ever seen.
3:30 is the most spectacular handstand dive ever seen done by ANY athlete, male or female. Unbelievably perfect!
I cried over her incredible, breathtaking dive!
She only learned how to do this handstand dive within a year before the Olympics, ie three weeks before her first national competition where she beat all the Olympic and world champions.

I love it when a Chinese athlete win and gets teary after. You can see how hard they work and it makes them cry when they accomplish their dream. Especially on their first gold.
The Olympic divers are always on a whole different level!! I really hope Quan keeps this up for her future Olympic dives! I look forward to what she has to deliver for Paris 2024!

A diver scored 2 perfect dives and a 6 tens dive, breaking records, all in an Olympic final. But she didn’t make the thumbnail for Olympic diving.

They were, but the Gold for GB in the 10m men’s synchro was basically the story of the Olympics for diving. The Chinese were phenomenal , but Matty and Tom’s dive was being talked about outside of the diving community as well. No hate to the Chinese divers but in terms of story and impact, the GB dive was greater. Also that competition between GB and China in the men’s 10m synchro was more competitive, so it makes for a better story. That’s why it made the thumbnail.
@@aeiresslumpkin4866 i understand the backstory for the GB gold and I dont dispute that but like I said, the video IS about the BEST dives.
It is about the best dives, but there’s no denying that this was one of the best-definitely not the best-dives of the Olympics. Plus with the backstory and Tom finally winning his gold and all the attention that’s been on the dive, it definitely makes sense as to why that dive’s the thumbnail.

Hats off to whoever invented this sport and all the amazing Chinese athletes who keep dominating it. It’s almost like watching dolphins or whales or blue fin tunas emerging out of oceans and diving back in magnificently. Taking of these creatures, hope we will do enough to protect them and other fast vanishing marine animals.

I might be wrong, but the Chinese, with their smaller stature and naturally lean body, along with well developed muscles, they can create more torque and rotation off the block, compared to a taller diver, and also make less of a splash. I guess the same logic applies for Simone Biles in gymnastics, whee her short stature helps her in achieving feats impossible by others. But their hardwork and dedication pays off, and Olympic athletes in general inspire me.
The key word you are looking for is "rotational inertia". Physics works.
@@BSPBuilder true. By physics, angular acceleration is inversely proportional to rotational inertia. Physics is applied in real life when it comes to gymnastics and diving. I meant to say greater angular acceleration is produced.
