Lots of people complaining about no DLOG M in the low light mode, but I think people are missing the point of Low Light Mode, its not for someone who is going to use DLOG M, its for someone who wants to use auto modes with little to no work. Low Light Mode is not some magical mode, its just a preset basically which makes it easy for someone who doesn't speak the camera language. If you want DLOG M in low light, create a custom profile with DLOG and the settings you want.
Fair point. I’m sure it’ll turn up via firmware at some point.
you are one of the fewer reviewers that really showed the image quality of what these new devices are capable of. Most reviewers chose the crappiest time of the day to go out and record their footages without proper filters and camera settings. Even professional cameras require good lightings

Picked mine up today and excited to use it. What swung it for me is that it's action cam size but it will focus on the face and give depth of field. I think it's a game changer and ups the stakes with Sony in particular who are now knocked off top spot in vlogging market.
Hey Mike or Tricia 🤔 it’s definitely a great little camera but depending on what you need, it’s not going to be as flexible as a little mirrorless camera. I wouldn’t think Sony are too bothered right now as it’s a slightly different market but DJI have always been good an innovation

Bought the GoPro for vlogging but it’s let’s me down heavily in low light, pretty much impossible to document a full day, looking forward to receiving this
Hey James, yeah. GoPro's are great, but low light they're a nightmare unfortunately. You'll definitely fare better in low light with the Osmo Pocket 3
Two thinks kill the Pocket 3 for me. 1 The walking footage with the gimbal makes me nauseated when I watch it. Not sure if anyone else this effect, it's like a strange unnatural head movement and jitteriness that starts it off. Second, the colours are really bad all round. Not sure why, the Action 4 doesn't; have the same problem. Sticking with my Z30 for now.
Hey Peter, not sure on the walking thing. It’s a 3 axis gimbal so it can’t account for that up and down motion which may be what you’re describing.
As for the colors, in some shots that’s 100% my fault. I had the wrong profile on and just didn’t have time to get reshoot or properly correct it, given the color space of the other clips.
try a bike ride over bumpy roads, and see wat gimbal doing / responding to it
I also dislike micro SD cards. Simple solution/ tool that I use … a tweezer. Squeeze it and you use the “tongs” together to get the card out. Then use it as a tweezer to grab and extract the card. Works beyond great and cost under $3 dollars. Cheers and keep up the great work!

Honestly, give it a try once you use one you won’t stop that way to deal with a microSD card.
I use one of the Wife's wooden make up sticks, about 4mm in diameter with a point one end and a spade type the other end. Doesn't damage anything and real cheap to buy. bit like a large cocktail stick.
The camera following you around makes the video more interesting.

Agreed about micro sd cards! what a pain!
The only thing I would turn off is when you are sitting and talking or sitting in front of the camera. Then I would turn off tracking. Especially when you are sitting in the studio and talking directly to the camera. Getting a little dizzy

Thank you for the review brother Irish ☘️ please give us a couple of straight out of the box and D-log m, both color graded examples of skin tones. I’m like uummhh you handled it quite good. It’s t’s not the camera strong point, it’s more the overall performance that really impresses, especially in low light. I seen some early cinematic scenes wow totally 💯 usable.

Keen to add this to my arsenal, I still love my Gen1 but it’s hard to pair it with work cameras. Think I can get creative with this one… look8ng forward to your thoughts further down the road

Pocket 3 is on the left of the screen. The bokeh and skin tones were better on the FX3 on the right of screen.
Definitely better, but when you look at the price difference of $700 vs. $3700, I think the Pocket 3 gives the Sony a damn good run for the money. Also, a lot of my content features live band recordings, and the Pocket 3 is gonna be a LOT easier to carry into the venues...
@@BackwoodsFilms totally. I've been very keen on the Pocket 3 as a compact vlogging camera too. I think I'll still need to carry a camera with decent zoom on it though for distant B-Roll.

Absolutely. Even the original pocket did well in that. Josh Yeo had an incredible video for real estate with the original pocket. So definitely.

Might have missed this but what gain level are you using?
it was my biggest wish that the camera had a little bit of storage like the action 2 and then the SD slot on the attachments like the action 2 that stops having to take them in and out that could cause breakage... where if you can like the action 2 have a number of batteries each with their own SD card it was a winner for me
Hey 👋 as long as the sd card is put in the right way I’m sure it’ll be absolutely fine. I’ve been yanking sd cards in and out of cameras for years and never had a problem. But take the point

Last time I visited your channel, you were the king of Action 2 overheating ( and I mean that as a compliment). So if I mention, or whisper, "overheating", in connection with the P3, I know you are not unfamiliar with that topic... There have been quite a few complaints, particularly from EU users, that when it's working hard, this camera will overheat and shut down. DJI have said that yes, it will overheat after (??) 17 mins of 4k 120. They say that in other modes it won't, so long as the screen and wireless are off, which seems a bit suss. So - if you had time to do some tests to see what running times you get in various modes, if anyone can spot an issue in this respect, you can!. Anyway, great review and I look forward to any others you upload about this remarkable little camera.

I like the concept of this little thing 🤩 and in my opinion every generation was a step forward even if I never used one actively

im rooting through all videos to see if its worth upgrading to this from my ZV-1, and right now i'm strongly considering it... any comparisson ideas between the two from your end?

When I found out it doesn't track in zoom x2 40mm equivalent, I thought it would probably be a bit limiting for my needs. 20mm is great for location establishing shots, but product shots not so good. So after initial excitement about the P3, I calmed down, and thought over my recent jobs, and thought were would I actually use the P3, and could I use my phone or camera in those scenarios, that answer was - yes. I hope DJI stick with the pocket line, but add a zoom at some point
Hey Mark, to be honest digital zoom is all they’ll ever be able to add. That can get get better over time I guess, but failing some little light weight magnetic 40mm or similar lens (similar to the wide angle lens) it’s always gonna be digital and that sucks for the best part in any camera (some of the Sony line being the exception)
There’s always the crop in in post if shooting at 4k but obviously that’s not going to give you a compressed look (not that 40 will give you a huge compression anyway) but that might be worth exploring
I feel in general the picture quality is softened and it's clearly noticeable on the face all the time . I also feel they made the image too digital as compared to their earlier pockets which they did to push the quality further than what it is

With the horizon lock and face track off, is it pretty easy to quickly point the camera in different directions without the gimble lagging behind? I noticed at 4:35 it seems very smooth. Have you had any difficulties with that or has it been a non issue? thanks
Hey. To be honest I haven’t noticed anything but this was my first hour with the camera so issues may well show up, but you can change gimbal speeds

@@VicBarry Could you do a test just trying to record 15 minutes of 4K footage in room temp? Im really considering buying this thing, but I found some reviews in amazon stating it keeps turning off due to heat. That would help me out a lot buddy if thats not too much to ask :)

Will this work with an external USB mic like the Ulanzi you reviewed recently? BTW, I guessed the Osmo is on the right because of the slight over exposure.

Its the fact your stuck at 20mm that tells me Id only use it in a limited way.
Please help. Can I use an ipad Pro gen 1 with lightning chord port with a type c adapter to plug in and transfer data to edit videos in Rush? Can't find this answer anywhere. Waiting to pull the trigger on this cam but I don't have a fancy PC to edit these videos. Your help would be amazing thank you

Hey. You should be able to. Once the pocket 3 is plugged into the iPad Pro it’ll recognise it’s plugged into a device and you’ll have an option on the pocket 3 screen as what to do.
Failing that use an sd card reader to transfer to the files to the iPad.
Why not combine the iPhone 15 Pro Max with a DJI Osmo Mobile 6? Then you got a 3 lens setup with a mechanical gimble. Just sayin'...

@@VideoGeekTv If you already have the iphone15 max I would probably stick with that. I use it with a gimbal and tbh it's spectacular. You're always going to have it with you too. I would stick with a gopro for any lengthier travel/vacations for the durability.

How about being clear with some more useful information like the fact that this is really only a vlogger camera. Blurry backgrounds are not wanted by everybody all the time and certainly not a pro who would need choices in his depth of field. Otherwise good information.
