I PLAYED AGAINST ERNIE MEYERS IN A CHAMPIONSHIP GSME IN A TOURNAMENT CALLED CITYWIDE IN THE BRONX. I ALSO PLAYED AGAINST ERNIE MEYERS IN HIGH SCHOOL. DUDE WON CHAMPIONSHIPS ALL ALL THE TIME
I was at the game in Chicago. Thompson and Benjamin were getting the most pregame hype, Winters shot lights out and was MVP. IMO Walker was the best player on the floor that night. I never forget seeing all that young talent on the same court.
Ernie Myers was more polished in high school. Kenny Smith said he looked up to Ernie Myers & was just 1 year younger. Billy Thompson was voted the national high school POY in this class
I'm sorry but you are way off base with your assessment of drazen petrovic. He certainly did make it and he was a prolific scorer for the New Jersey nets until he tragically died in a car accident back in his home country in Europe. Prior to that tragic accident he had several tremendous seasons in the NBA and was considered one of the top scorers in the league.
I think you're misunderstanding what I'm saying. Never said he wasn't good (I happen to be a very big Drazen fan!), just that he can't be considered as a "snub" by the McDonald's voters because he didn't play high school ball in the US
How tf did Len Bias not make the McDonald game, but dudes like Lohaus,Trotter.Winters ,Kempton and Benoit Benjamin who was straight garbage made it,unbelievable.
Bias was considered a raw talent coming into Maryland. The potential was obvious but he had to develop into what he became his JR. and SR. years of college.
Great video. I went to B/C camp in Rensselaer Indiana with most of those guys the summer of 81. Ron Harper was my college teammate at Miami of Ohio.
These are appreciated! Waymon Tisdale also won 1984 Gold.
Great video. You have some of the best "where are they now" I've seen. Brings back great memories for basketball fans.
rip roy Tarpley, kevin Duckworth, drazen petrovic, rip wayman tisdale

Awesome story!
I think Milt Wagner & Billy Thompson won a championship together with the Lakers, as well as of course Louisville
This is correct! Also, fun fact, that team had six former McD's All-Americans: BT, Wagner, Magic, Jeff Lamp, Byron Scott, and Worthy haha
They actually won a state championship together too. Kind of an amazing piece of trivia.
True that.....my guys & Camden homies
I played against Billy Thompson in a summer pick up game. All i saw was the bottom of his sneakers as he jumped over me. He was amazing.
Thanks
Billy Thompson, arguably could've been the most talented player in this class...🙂

Ummmm no lol

Young men change a lot between 18 and 22.

Same way Darrick Martin made it in 1988 over guys like Terrell Brandon.
Mfs are soft me and my trainers went at it but we still got stuff done, 2 strangers in a box 24 hrs a day it’s going to happen,
